Administration or Vincent Tan

Wed Apr 30, 2014 12:02 pm

If you could've glimpsed into the future when Tan bought the club, what route would you have preferred the club to have taken? Where you are now under Tan with all the money, upheaval and distress that he has provided or have taken administration and perhaps be in a similar position to where Portsmouth are now - playing League 2 football, but being owned by the fans, playing in blue and pretty much still having a soul?

PS I'm a Palace fan and am genuinely interested. Not here to wind anyone up. You are probably going to be relegated and that will be the fault of one man and man alone so genuinely feel sorry for you with how the club has been mismanaged.

I take it from your statement you're listening to all the misinformed hype in the media and by a certain section of the fa base.

Vincent Tan for me any day of the week.

It was never a clear cut choice.
Tan played his hand very well.

Never want red.
Never want Admin.

Administration.

It doesn't feel like my club any more.

Did the misinformed hype in the media sack a perfectly good manager who probably would've kept you up?

If Tan hadnt stumped up the initial £6m then i doubt there would be a CCFC. We had been in court three times owing HMRC money. The judge gave us one last stay of execution on the basis of the proposed investment. Admin wasnt an option as we were being wound up.

The rebrand happened 2 years later and the choice was take his money and play in red or he finds other investors.........the fans spoke and here we are.

Dont muddle the two periods in time up, as thats what some of our own fans tend to do.

I agree about the mismanagement sending us down.....thankfully Moody and Malky have both been sacked now.

He was a one plan manager who probably would have got as relegated as well.

Why do people think going into administration is like a reset button and will solve all our problems?

Seems like as fans of Cardiff, you're not united on views of Tan.

He may well be misrepresented in the media, but surely the facts speak for themselves - he has made some poor decisions not in the best interest of the football club. The fact that he says he'd be quite happy to walk away if you reverted back to blue tells you surely how much he really cares about the club.

Personally I think he represents all that is wrong in today's game. He may well be rich, but what does he care most about? Cardiff City or Vincent Tan? VT is the answer and you would be better off in League 2 with no money than with Tan with at the helm. Clearly some of you agree with me and some of you don't. I really am surprised that he has any kind of supporters from the Cardiff supporters.

Basically Tan had us by the balls and probably still has. Only a vast minority of fans prefer red, Tan could do whatever he likes despite how much we protest. One proviso of Tan changing the colours was to wipe our big debt out, by converting debt to equity, looks like he just fobbed us off, as the debt has now vastly increased. Despite all this, I'm certain we'll be back in blue, sooner rather than later, as the fanbase will never accept the red.
PS What did the Palace fanbase do when Malcolm Allison changed your colours and your nickname back in the 70s? I notice you were called the Glaziers and Allison changed to Eagles. Also when Terry Venables had his 'Team of the 80s' you played in white. What colours do Palace fans feel are their true colours/nickname?

Administration should NEVER be the answer to mismanagement, too many businesses never see their money again, as for tan, i will never forgive him for changing our colours but i will also thank him for financially saving the club, (2 years before the colour change) i was always prepared to put up with the change of colours in the short term providing tan changed the debt to equity, unfortunately, he has not carried that promise out.

It's easy to say Admin when you don't fully understand the ramifications. It's not a reset button.
