No been feeling it for a while enough is enough, time to sort it out asap issacs is a very small shareholding he could get his shares easily for the same price of everyone else sold them for ,for all the infighting the rebrand has cause it would be worth it if the debt is sorted but it hasn't and time is ticking

Wez, I totally agree many fans 'accepted' the rebrand for a debt free club and Tan must sort it out soon.

Wez, perhaps the time has finally come for us wealthy fans to 'chip in' and sort the whole mess out ourselves, eh?

Let us know how much YOU will be putting in and I'll see if I can round up a few more to match it

That should put a fair dent in the debt mountain and make Tan sit up and take notice!

Why no-one thought of this before baffles me, TBH :o  :laughing6: :laughing6:

Michael Isaacs is only part of the holdup.

It is not mentioned that the debt to equity wont happen until the Malky issue is sorted as well?

If people honestly believed that Tan would sort the debt out then you are living on cloud 9!!!! In fact he has never sorted any of the other debts out either really. For example:

Just because he brings in Sam Hamman it doesn't mean that the Langston debt has disappeared.
Dave Jones wasn't completely paid off
Malky Mackay hasn't been paid a penny

Tan is just adding to the debt and shame on people like Wez how have been supporting him through these lies of his.

I still don't see what issue trying to sort out the Malky settlement is in relation to Tan converting debt to equity. Surely even if the club has to pay Malky a decent amount, it will only be a few million. Christ that's small fry in comparison to the money that's been wasted i.e. administration costs.

So Tan should now sort the debt to equity as he's maintained he will do and as he stated back in August - "was very close" and "should be sorted in a couple of weeks".

Re: tan needs to start sorting debt out

:laughing6: wez wally completely changed his mind then?

Why do people keep quoting things as being a "hold up" for the debt to equity? Thought it was supposed to be done after Langston was sorted? Then Malky? Now Isaacs? :laughing6:

Ask yourself again, WHY would Tan buy the remaining 10% for essentially £100m when he could buy it for £10m max.

Only then can you begin to understand the debt to equity will never happen in full, or anywhere close to full for that matter.

Wake up.

It's a start, fella

I'll start a 'whip round' and by my reckoning we'll be able to buy Tan out sometime around 18 seasons time, if we average everyone in a 20k crowd giving that amount per game played

Certainly feasible, but need to be a little patient I guess  :ayatollah:

Craig Honestly no one is holding it up other than Tan himself, I promise you that.

I totally agree with Wez on this.

I never accepted the despicable rebrand full stop, but many did on the grounds Tan would make us debt Free.

Its nearly 2 years now since Tan said he would make us debt Free.

The debt is anywhere between £120 mill to £150 mill.

And while we keep booing him every game and him with the blue chart he will hurry to do this why?

More likely he will sell the best players, take the parachute payments and walk.

The debt to equity is only important to the balance sheet. Its like moving money from your left pocket to your right pocket. When it came to selling the club, everything would cost the same.

However, he did say he would do it, therefore he should do it as a lot of people accepted the rebrand based on this. When the Malky affair is sorted in the summer, there should be no reason not to do it.

infact, if the truth about Moody/Malky comes out this summer around the court hearing it would be the perfect time for Tan to do it as his standing with fans couldnt be higher and that debt to equity swap would then get even more fans behind him.

Craig, Tan had his chance to do the debt to equity along time before the Malky episode, in fact over 16 months.

The Malky case is £4 mill max, were talking about £120 mill plus.

Honestly it worries me big time and has from day one.

Perhaps if Tan made good on his promise to erase the debt then he would avoid much of the ill feeling towards him. I am glad that Wez is finally taking his head out of the sand and seeing Tan for what he is. Tan will not convert the debt to equity as most fans hope for and will only consolidate our finances as part of the sale process just prior to him bailing out.

But people aren't accepting the rebrand. They are protesting and wearing blue in their thousands.

That's a good thing by the way however you could see why Tan would have reservations.

They are wearing blue, but not protesting. Well maybe for 60 seconds each game before going back to supporting his creation.

Lets not forget blue are your away colours. To wear what is sold in the club shop is not a protest, but a decision on principle.

It's quite clearly a protest. Let me make the point i am glad it is happening but if we did 'accept' the rebrand for a debt free club and no longer 'accept' it we have also moved the goal posts. If I was Tan I wouldn't bother making the debt into equity and would look at selling up and getting out of dodge. He's a businessman not a fan.

Re: ' Vincent Tan needs to start sorting debt out '

Its not a protest.

The rest i see your point. However the fact he is a businessman with his and not the clubs interest at heart then surely you would understand debt to equity wont happen either way?

Yep it won't and as I said nor would I I'm his position.

We will agree to disagree about it being a protest. I think it is and I think many on here would agree.

Of course they would agree, it is what they use to convince themselves they are doing enough and to appease their guilt.

However, you could bow down at tans feet and he still wouldnt convert debt to equity.

Agree . Excuse and excuse and none of which should impact a debt to equity swap. Tan is happy to keep racking up the debt .
