Kim

4-4-1-1 with Zaha coming on for the last 20-30 minutes as an impact sub. I would still start with Kim because I think he will put in more of a shift and help keep us more solid than Zaha, which is what we will need for the first hour of the game.
What would your team be?
Fri Apr 25, 2014 7:12 pm
Witts for bellers and that's pretty much our best team that's available. Zaha to mix it up last 35 mins
Fri Apr 25, 2014 7:15 pm
I want Berget on top. Team him up with Daelhi and Bellers
Fri Apr 25, 2014 7:19 pm
Marshall
KTC Caulker Cala Fabio
Medel
Zaha Mutch Whitts Dhaeli
Campbell
No need to change formation.

As soon as I did my post I instantly realised I had left Whitts out.
I agree Whitts has to start but I would probably play him instead of Kim. So my team would be:
Marshall
Fabio
Cala
Caulker
KTC
Whittingham
Medel
Mutch
Daehli
Bellamy
Campbell
Daehli and Bellamy in free, roaming, interchanging roles when attacking supporting Campbell but dropping back to make a 5 man midfield when defending.

No need to drop Whitts. Been quality past two games. Maybe Bellamy/Zaha for Kim.

He has to play against his old team, could come up win a goal.

Agreed, Campbell always scores against his old teams, or his old teams rivals. Hope I haven't jinxed him now!

Why would you take out two quality players and replace them with Cowie and Kev?
Fri Apr 25, 2014 9:44 pm
Is it just me if so I'm getting worried but why is nearly every team every week including k.t.c. He is so prone to lapses in concentration and is final ball his shit. He was good for the first couple of games but as gone downhill I.m.o. other than Taylor I would pick any of our full backs before him

We have no other good right back that is why.

Full backs are or should be versatile in the modern game to play either side. Would rather kev who has played there any day of the week. A bit biased but he would be my first choice fullback anyway just for his defensive capabilities in a rearguard that is sadly missing this aspect

------Marshall
McNaughton Caulker Cala Fabio
-- Medel Whitts
Zaha -- Mutch -- Dhaeli
---- Campbell
Mutch for Bellamy when Mutch tires. Leave Dhaeli on the pitch!!

I'd go for the same team, but I think Theo will play at full back instead of Kev and I'd personally go for Bellars instead of Zaha, in such a big game we need his experience and voice on the pitch, he demands the best out of everyone.
Massive game, we need our tactics and selection to be spot on, no pressure Ole.

ANYONE BUT KIM! He's been shocking these last few games!

Fabio......................................John

Dæhli..............Berget...........Bellamy.
...................Campbell...................
With Berget, Dæhli, Campbell and Bellamy changing positions all throughout to confound the Sundy defence. Moved both Dæhli and Fabio to the right side to not break up their partnership, that means John would have to replace KTC, if match fit.
Medel supporting defence, Eikrem ballwinning/ deep playmaker, picking out Dæhi and Bellamy with his passes.
If Sunderland aren't a threat at all in offense, Medel can be subbed out for Zaha, and it'll look like this:
..................Marshall.....................
Fabio..........Cala.....Caulker.........John
.....................Eikrem....................
Dæhli..............Bellamy..............Zaha
..............Campbell...Berget..............
After such a change, Fabio and John would have to play a bit more defensively.
Sat Apr 26, 2014 4:29 pm
Remember the Christmas tree formation? No one ever uses that anymore
Gunnar Medel Mutch
Dæhli Whitts
Campbell
With attacking full backs having a solid line in midfield behind creative attacking front players.
But yeah
Marshall
KTC Caulker Cala Fabio
Medel Whitts
Dæhli Mutch Bellamy
Campbell
Really it picks itself only Bellamy/Zaha/Kim are fighting for a place. Would be Noone if fit.

Just personal opinion mate, I think Kim should drop to the bench for this game and of Cowie/Bellamy/Zaha I would just prefer Cowie for this game because I think he improves us when he comes inside and lets KTC overlap and be at his best.
McNaughton for Fabio was a tougher call and I can fully understand those who went for Fabio because he had his best game against Stoke, but overall I've not been impressed by him defensively whereas I think Kev is our best defensive full-back at the club still, hence why I'd go for him defending against Adam Johnson. I think Johnson could rip Fabio apart.
