TONY PULIS SPEAKS OUT OVER 'SPYGATE'

Tony Pulis is disappointed that Cardiff City have been so vocal in their complaint about Crystal Palace but insisted that it hasn’t overshadowed their achievement of securing survival.

The Bluebirds have complained to the Premier League that their team was leaked to the Eagles, who triumphed 3-0 in the Welsh capital.

But the Palace boss insisted that he had selected his team on the Monday and had not made any changes, whether he received the information or not.

“Cardiff [will do] whatever they’ve got to do,” he said. “It’s disappointing that they’ve dropped stuff out to the press.

“If we have to speak to the Premier League we’ll do it in the right proper manner.

“As a coach, I log every session that I do. I picked my team on Monday before we went to Cardiff on the Saturday and there were no changes.”

Pulis was reluctant to be drawn further on the situation and preferred to cite the unity between club and supporters.

“I don’t want to go into it,” he added. “I think the important thing is we talk about other things.

“The supporters, everybody, we’ve brought the club together. Everybody has come together as one. It’s been that community and togetherness that’s helped us achieve.”

Has Pulis changed tack on this?

I thought he flat out denied it before now he is relying on the fact that he made no changes.

Pretty much sounds that way. This is the sound of response you except from someone who knows there's a good chance the side he's involved with/in might be found out. If that's the case, of course he's going to be disappointed. What Pulis says may ring true and he may have picked his team then but it still doesn't hide the fact that, if Moody did do it, then the game in my opinion has been brought into disrepute and its integrity is questioned. How can football be seen as fair and based on integrity if this stuff is allowed to go on? The last thing the FA/PL need is stuff like this with people already crying out against all the other wrongs within the game.

If Moody is found to be guilty of having done it then the only fair thing is to replay the game at the end of the season and declare the first game void. Also, people saying we were beat fair and square are wrong in my opinion. Its not different from a boxers camp gaining information from an opponents doctor to find out he has an injured left hand and then using that knowledge to his advantage in the fight. Yes we got beat 3-0 but that whole result is thrown up in the air in my opinion if this sort of thing has happened. Of course, its still all if, buts and maybes at the moment. Docking Palace points is a waste of time as it doesn't give us the chance to earn the 3 points we may have been wronged out of. The only fair outcome is to replay the game end of the season.

There will be no points deduction and no replayed game.

It will not be proved that the result would have been any different. Ole had two days to change tack so the result should stand.

We are as much to blame for having employees willing to help the opposition.

The outcome should be a reprimand for all those involved with a few sackings.

What happens if there is a replay and we lose 5-0 increasing our negative GD. What if that sends City down?

We lost end of story, even if they did know the team,so what most clubs know what team Liverpool, man city play each week and lose, makes our club sound even more pathetic

I agree the game should not be replayed, we have been wronged and the culprits should be punished in fines or loss of jobs.

I fail to see though how we are to blame, hard to know if one or others are going to be slimeballs is it?

Spot on , the people involved probably sacked , a slap on the wrist for BOTH clubs and a small fine will be the outcome

Then we had our chance to right a wrong and we blew it. What's the problem with that?

Its not about the points or the fact we have lost to palace. what it is about is our club believe someone at palace contacted and asked for the team info and if the stories are true then cardiff city are right to report it and speak out about it.
Why some people are looking beyond the fact we could have scum leaking out confidential info about our club amazes me.
I for one want my club to do all it can to get those who have broken rules whether at palace or cardiff to be caught and punished if guilty.

Nowhere in this statement does Pulis deny the accusations laid at Palace and its representatives just showing disappointment that our club went to the press, hmmm, methinks trouble ahead for Moody, Palace and possibly Pulis. Can't see the FA and Premier League letting this slide and does Moody's credibility no good at all in any future evidence he gives in the Malky case. Maybe a vindication here of Tan's decision to relieve Moody of his duties at CCFC. Was Tan right all along about Milky and Moody?

You were beat on the pitch dude, well and truly. OSG knew the Palace lineup - they had fielded the same team 2 weeks running and had just beat Chelsea - Pulis had said he wasn't gonna change it and there were no surprises. Sometimes you just have to take your lumps and move on. We both know the game isn't going to be replayed and we both know Cardiff aren't going to be awarded any points. At best Palace will take a fine, and that will be all that comes of it.

agree Jinks, i dont get people here that want to brush this under the carpet, and those saying that OUR club looks pathetic is beyond reason...........if this is such not a big deal..why was Moody texting players/staff at Cardiff in the first place.........yes there are obviously staff at our club whose loyalty is now in question, they should be fired.....but it seems Moody put the whole thing in motion.....

We really have become a joke of a Club. If Palace get points deducted, do we also get points deducted for leaking the information? We should just drop this and stop making ourselves look like fools.

Yes! Let Cheaters Cheat!

But in all honesty that's basically what people are saying if they take that line of thinking. If the league deems they have broken the rules, that would basically be stating Palace cheated.

So if you're okay with clubs breaking rules - you're okay with cheating; and that's just a different of opinions between myself and you.

It's not up to us or any team to determine the punishment if they are found guilty of the accusations, but to say we shouldn't have brought it up is truely foolish. Sportsmanship should still be part of the game, and if any team believes they don't need to follow that; then they need to be checked back into line. Otherwise you're setting the stage by saying it's perfectly fine (which it should never be as such).

This looks like sour grapes from us, we deserved to be beaten by a far superior Palace side, we deserved what we got, nothing. We were a shambles, no way should this game be replayed, the club are yet again embarrassing themselves. I am sure the PL will be delighted when we go back to the Championship, we have beought nothing to the PL this season car contrevesy :bluescarf: :old: :bluescarf:

No I agree with you, private info within any club should stay private, this I do agree with you on.

The big issue here is the assholes within our club ratting on their own team and divulging info to outsiders. Too much inside info gets out to the fans never mind our opponents and it needs to be stopped now!!!!! Sack anyone who does it.

Re: TONY PULIS SPEAKS OUT OVER 'SPYGATE'

Fri Apr 18, 2014 12:39 pm

The constant leaks to the press, the belief that a employee of CCFC would divulge information if asked just shows how badly led we are.
We need a local CEO/Chairman who knows what he is doing and knows the staff and organisation. We need to be relegated, regroup, start again and rid ourselves of the deadwood both in the playing side and administration/commercial.

We are built on sand, with an owner who is used to getting his own way in Asia, but doesn't understand he is a minor player in the UK.

This is about discrediting Malky through Moody, it will probably work, but at what cost.

This wouldn't be a story if an employee asked to effectively spy told his boss straight away about the approach, but we have some disgruntled employees who have different agendas. They all need to go, even if they are star players !!!

Re: TONY PULIS SPEAKS OUT OVER 'SPYGATE'

I knew that Palace most likely would give us a hard time and after the match i said to my mate: Good damn, Palace came well prepared to this one and kicked our ass.

At that time i thought well done, now im thinking that they knew more than just our line-up. I cant help but thinking that if Moody first used some contacts he should have been able to find out what City had worked on as a game plan for the match.

For Palace 3 points almost certainly secured a new contract and 100+ mill in the wallet. Why use your contacts only to get the starting line-up?

Anyways, the match is lost and we should focus on Stoke instead.
