Swansea have completed more long balls (1118) than any other Premier League side this season. Well that's surprising. pic.twitter.com/nxrqpJgXRB

I'd love to know their definition of long passes. If that's including jonjos legendary cross-field passes and other switches of play, or crosses that are met with headers or controlled then that stat is a bit spurious.

Only people with axes to grind are under the illusion that Swanseas style of play is hoofball. Watch our last 2 goals against Norwich or our first 2 against you lot to get a grasp of the style we play.

jonjo......now there is an accident waiting to happen on a weekly basis.......he thinks he is much much better than he actually is,and is fortunate to have found a club where thinking that is part of the identity and history......

The key word there is "completed".

You know, rather than aimlessly hoofed :thumbright:

Cardiff city fan giving Swansea city fan a lecture about delusions of grandeur. Textbook irony.

Hilarious this. The Swansea fans on here have constantly mocked the "hoofball" style of play & now it's shown that they did it the most this season!

Typical hypocrisy. :laughing6: especially since the likes of NJ, Swansealass & PremierJacks have been banging on about their "flowing football" all season.

Paying a long pass and a "hoof ball" are completely doffering things.

We also have the highest number of passes per match in the premier league.

Re: SWANSEA CITY HOOFBALL SPECIALISTS

I didnt explain that properly - So the most passes in the premier league will probably give us the highest amount of most types of passes.

If you looked at % of passes that are long - we would be nowhere near the top.

A long ball hoof from turner to jones or a cultered 80 yard pass from Williams to bony is regarded as a completed pass for the stattos.

Doubt you will get the irony of this roathie....

Cardiff city, tactical experts on all things Swansea City once again. Worry about your own shaky defence for a minute before you start dissecting our passing stats.

Not at all.

We probably make the most of every type of pass as we make the most passes.

If Palace make 200 passes and 50 of them are long balls where as we make 600 passes and 60 of them are long balls... We would have more long balls in terms of a "long ball count" but it would only make up 10% of our game where as Palace would be 25%.

But pointless to look at "amount" of times a ling ball has happened as it doesnt show a trend or style as you dont know how much that number makes up the total pass count.

this has to be one of the funniest threads ive seen on here and that's saying something.

So make your mind up! do the Swans make pointless sideways passes as you normally claim? or are we a hoofball side that kicks everything aimlessly up field?

no wonder your club is in such turmoil if the management are as clueless as the fans :laughing5:
