If Monk gets the opportunity he will throw the game to send us down. I have no doubt they will do this

No he/we wouldn't. If you think throwing away possibly up to 3 or £4m on one game just to send you down is worth it, then think again. ;)

Sunderland will be down by then I reckon they have a few tough games coming up. Thankfully. Looking at Norwich and west brom games the game between them this weekend is huge. I really think if we beat palace we will have a great chance as it will give us some momentum and belief. It's between us, WBA, Norwich and palace for the last spot. Why not?

Their fans would probably be supporting Sunderland too, we need to be safe by then of we are fecked with us playing Chelsea also :o

Re: Sunderland V Swansea last game of the season ........

Given the fixtures ahead of the last day of the season for the both of us, we will either pull away or both already be down. Both games will be a formality. They won get more than 4 points from their remaining games, maybe 6 and an absolute best.

Re: Sunderland V Swansea last game of the season ........

Mon Mar 31, 2014 9:17 pm

Swansea losing on purpose or not we must go into the last game against Chelsea safe.

Come on now 64, I can see huwies brain ticking over, 4 million or send cardiff down, no competition. Thankfully it won't come to that I think, can't see Sunderland getting many more points.

That's not very cardiff is it, we will need a point I bet, it will be 2.1 to Chelsea when we get a penalty in the 92minute, we score we stay up..... :happy1:

£4m is a lot of money to a club like us goats even in the prem. But ye I think Sunderland could well be down by then, if they couldn't muster a result tonight then theres little hope really. Banter and shit aside, you do have a chance to catch either Palace/Norwich or West Brom. But Saturday really is must win, and I mean MUST! ;)

Re: Sunderland V Swansea last game of the season ........

Chelsea will be pissed off if they don't win the title so Mourinho will go all out to hammer us and send a message for next season. If they have already won the title they might be beatable and if they need a win to win the title then we don't have a cats in hells chance of winning it.

Biggest must I've ever mustered, no more musts left if we don't do it simple as...

Spainsea have quite a tough fixture list left. - Hull away; Chelsea home; Newcastle away; Villa home; Southampton home and Sunderland away. With their current form they might need to beat Sunderland to stay in the Premier.

Tough? That looks as reasonable as they come for this league.
as for our form not worried in the slightest we look back to something like our best.

Its probably financially beneficial to send you down.

Being the only team within 100 miles that has Premier League football amd with an expansion to fill on the horizon.... It makes business sense.

That's fine, but the extension on the CCS is already taking shape while there isn't even a bag of cement outside The Liberty Stadium. We will have a much needed increased capacity in August.

Financially, we are sound now with the promise of debt-free status on our horizon. :notworthy:

Apart from Southampton and Chelsea none of those are going to be that hard.

I dont quite know where to start with that. :D

1. If you go down (which looks likely) the extension will be a big echoing white elephant.

2. You are about as far from financially sound as you could wish to be :D

This is the most ridiculous thing ive ever read on here (and there's lots of crap on this Forum unfortunately).
No way would they intentionally throw the match....and we will be safe by then anyway...

I agree with you on the business sense of it. If we are your main competitors for spectators and more importantly these days the corporate element sponsors etc it would make sense but would he be savvy enough to think this and secondly surely no professional footballer or manager would go out to lose a game. I don't think it will come on the agenda other than fans and media harping on about it. I will be fairly certain your players will be more interested trying to finish the season in good form trying to catch a plane to Brazil if they are close for their prospective countries.
As for the white elephant of the extension as you call it time will tell but once it's built it's there for us to fill if the demand is there to generate extra revenue. Even if the seats are not filled on match day the conference and dining facilities are going to be used and could make even more money than match day sales

I think he is fully aware of the importance in being the only Premier League club in Wales financially. At least id hope he does.

I could definitely see us throwing it, but It isnt about players going out to lose as such but if we have nothing to play for then we can do what we did against Everton and play the likes of Tremmel, Vasquez, Amat, Lamah, Lita.... You get the picture.

Your stadium expansion is a good move if you can fill it, of course it is. However it should have been done when you were stable in the league, now it looks like you are going down god knows when you may be back. I doubt dining facilities or conference rooms will be making any sort of a real impact on covering the cost of the build to be perfectly honest, doubt ot would make a scratch.

Will sunderland be a position to overtake us on the last game of the season?

Maybe, but we dont need to worry about what Swansea will be doing, we need to go to Sunderland and win.

Still cannot imagine huw saying saying to monk "tell the players to lose so we can send cardiff down".im no expert by all means on corporate events as such but I do know that having been to the liberty on a number of work events the number of people using that stadium on non match days is significant. The whole building of new stands and stadia in line with the Taylor report gave most teams the chance to increase non match day revenue with the extra space under the stands. I wouldn't dismiss it by all means but will agree that the primary reason is to fill the seats on match days.

Won't happen anyway as Sunderlad and Fulham will both be down before the last game.

Last place between us, WBA,Norwitch and Palarse even though I think Pulis will keep them up so probably 1 from the other 3.

As i said, it isnt telling the players to lose - it is resting our first team.

Id like to see some figures for revenue from these extra facilities, it would be my guess that from that alone - you could go 50 years and you still wouldn't have made the cost of the build.

Stable as in proved you are good enough to stay up for a few years and post the necessary profit meaning you can fund it without loans.

That covers a lot more than the top 6.

To expand when you are in the financial mess you are and in a season where you never looked like staying up is lunacy.
