' Some questions from a Palace fan '

Sun Mar 30, 2014 7:07 pm

I am from the Palace blog the1905.wordpress.com Would it be ok if you could answer a few questions ahead of our game on Saturday?
1.Who have been your stand out performers so far this season?

2.Was Solskjaer the right choice of manager?

3.How do you view the palace game, will it be a walk in the park or a tough game?

4.Who do you think is likely to get relegated at the end of the season?

5.Out of the current Palace squad, which player would you have, and why?

6.Finally, what’s your score prediction for the game?

Re: Some questions

1.Who have been your stand out performers so far this season?
Jordon Mutch, Craig Noone, David Marshall I'd say have been our top 3.

2.Was Solskjaer the right choice of manager?
Yes I think the style of football he plays is good and always has a plan B.

3.How do you view the palace game, will it be a walk in the park or a tough game?
It'll be a tough game but I think we can win it.

4.Who do you think is likely to get relegated at the end of the season?
West Brom
Sunderland
Fulham

5.Out of the current Palace squad, which player would you have, and why?
Wilfried Zaha. Oh.... ;)

Just joking. Probably Bolasie as I've always liked watching him play.

6.Finally, what’s your score prediction for the game?
Cardiff 3-1 Palace (Daehli, Zaha, Mutch) (Bolasie)

Re: Some questions

Sun Mar 30, 2014 7:24 pm

Palace will be a tough game, pulis has got you well organised. I would of loved to see pulis here, i am happy with Ole, malky just had to go, his football was painful to watch, whereas with ole we are not being battered for the whole 90 like under malky.

I like jedinak from palace, good strong player. Players you need to worry about from cardiff would be mutch and matts moller.

I believe palace will survive whether they lose or not.

My prediction: 2-1 City

Re: ' Some questions from a Palace fan '

Sun Mar 30, 2014 7:29 pm

1. David Marshall and Jordon Mutch

2. In the short term, no, long term yes. He is still very naive and inexperienced but I can see what he is trying to achieve here so I am willing to give him plenty of time.

3. Extremely tough. Pulis' sides are always organised and will punish you if they get one chance. I just hope that we don't throw caution to the wind like against West Ham then get countered.

4. Us, Sunderland, Fulham

5. I haven't watched Palace enough to decide that but if I had to pick it'd be Jon Williams.

6. 1-0 to us.

Without doubt it as to be Marshall as player of the year. The best outfield player being mutch when fit. If the choice of manager was right the timing was wrong. We're definitely playing a more cavalier brand of football which is likely to gain more friends than points at the moment. No disrespect but haven't seen a lot of you this year but what I have seen the team ethic has stood out rather than individuals so I would agree with Bolasie. I think it will be hard on saturday and can see a draw or a very edgy win for us at best. I think you will be safe with fulham Sunderland Norwich w.b.a. and city fighting it out and sadly for us not making it.

Yes. I like his attacking football and, even if we go down, he'll do well with us next season.

1.Who have been your stand out performers so far this season?
David Marshall has been easily our best player, Gary Medel is the one world class player we have, and Jordon Mutch has been surprisingly excellent.

2.Was Solskjaer the right choice of manager?
No, sadly. Tactically, he's probably the worst manager I've seen at any level of professional football - no exaggeration there. There is no doubt we would have more points in the league now if we still had Malky Mackay or appointed Tony Pulis instead.

3.How do you view the palace game, will it be a walk in the park or a tough game?
I think it will be a tight game and Palace will play for a point - and probably get one.

4.Who do you think is likely to get relegated at the end of the season?
18th West Brom
19th Fulham
20th Cardiff

5.Out of the current Palace squad, which player would you have, and why?
Mile Jedinak is my favourite Palace player by an absolute mile, could easily slot into a top half club in my opinion. He'd probably make Manchester United's squad at the moment looking at their current midfield! Yannick Bolasie and Jonny Williams another two I like.

6.Finally, what’s your score prediction for the game?
0-0

I know everyone's opinion differs but you can't have watched much football if you believe Ole is the worst tactician in professional football.

1.Who have been your stand out performers so far this season?
Without a doubt David Marshall, he has been exceptional.

2.Was Solskjaer the right choice of manager?
Its a hard one, I think he was brought in at the wrong time to be honest. He should have been brought in a few months earlier to stamp his authority on the squad. Pulis to the end of the season would have been my choice. Going into next season in whatever league im happy with Ole taking us forward

3.How do you view the palace game, will it be a walk in the park or a tough game?
Tough, Pulis teams are always tough.

4.Who do you think is likely to get relegated at the end of the season?
Fulham and Norwich then either us or Sunderland (im hoping Sunderland)

5.Out of the current Palace squad, which player would you have, and why?
Whoever your left back is, he cant be any worse than what we have.

6.Finally, what’s your score prediction for the game?
2-1 Zaha, Medel

honest answer, us, sunderland and fulham

5.Out of the current Palace squad, which player would you have, and why?

tough game but Cardiff should have enough in the locker to win

4.Who do you think is likely to get relegated at the end of the season?

Fulham Cardiff and West Brom

5.Out of the current Palace squad, which player would you have, and why?

1.Who have been your stand out performers so far this season?
Dave Marshall by a mile

2.Was Solskjaer the right choice of manager?
Short term no, we needed a Tony Pulas. Long term can only wait and see.

3.How do you view the palace game, will it be a walk in the park or a tough game?
I just have this feeling it will be an unfair game going on what we have experienced this season. I can see another awful refereeing performance going against us that will result in perhaps an unfair draw seeing us down. Paranoid possible but with good reason.

4.Who do you think is likely to get relegated at the end of the season?
Fulham, Cardiff, West Brom

5.Out of the current Palace squad, which player would you have, and why?
no idea

6.Finally, what’s your score prediction for the game?
1-1

Re: ' Some questions from a Palace fan '

Mon Mar 31, 2014 3:04 pm

1.Who have been your stand out performers so far this season? Mutch / Marshall & Noone

2.Was Solskjaer the right choice of manager? Yes but he's too reactive, he needs to see 30 minutes of a game before he knows the best tactics to deploy. I think if we can retain the majority of our squad a season in the championship will put him in good stead for another stab at the premiership.

3.How do you view the palace game, will it be a walk in the park or a tough game? Tough game, were shipping goals left right and centre, at least we are scoring though so i imagine it to be a close one.

4.Who do you think is likely to get relegated at the end of the season? Fulham/West Brom & Sunderland (if they lose tonight) Or us if they Win tonight. I see them losing 4 on a bounce after tonight, so there will be a few hammers tonight from this forum.

5.Out of the current Palace squad, which player would you have, and why? Jedinak - Every time i've seen palace on sky he has been head and shoulders above and i think if he was alongside Medel with Mutch just in front that would be a strong middle three. Also like Puncheon, he's like a not so bad version of Robben.

6.Finally, what’s your score prediction for the game? 3-2 Cardiff - Caulker with the winner.

I am from the Palace blog the1905.wordpress.com Would it be ok if you could answer a few questions ahead of our game on Saturday?
1.Who have been your stand out performers so far this season?

Marshall, Caulker, Medel.

2.Was Solskjaer the right choice of manager?

IMO no - not because I dont think he is a quality manager, but because he doesnt have enough quality players in our squad to play the way he wants to. I think Malky had it right - with another squad in a new season I think OGS could be a top manager, but in the circumstance he was given the job, I am not sure he was right.

3.How do you view the palace game, will it be a walk in the park or a tough game?

Extremely tough. A must win game but I am struggling to see it. You have a quality manager who knows how to survive in the PL. Before 94:58 of the WBA game I wouldnt have given us a prayer. I give us a glimmer after the character we showed in fighting back but i make you favourites.

4.Who do you think is likely to get relegated at the end of the season?

Heart says Fulham, Sunderland and WBA. Head says no comment.

5.Out of the current Palace squad, which player would you have, and why?

The manager (no offense to Ole)

6.Finally, what’s your score prediction for the game

Heart says 2-1 City. Head says no comment.

2.Was Solskjaer the right choice of manager?
With time I believe he can be, but too much change in too little time, we've gone from extremely defensive to extremely attack minded, there's no middle ground. Unfortunately the people in charge of the havent got a jar about football or it's culture.

3.How do you view the palace game, will it be a walk in the park or a tough game?
I'm not a huge fan of yours but Pulis has done a brilliant job steadying the ship. It's going to be a tough game but I think we'll have the quality to win the game.

4.Who do you think is likely to get relegated at the end of the season?
Toughie, heart says, Fulham, Sunderland, WBA.

5.Out of the current Palace squad, which player would you have, and why?
I don't think I would have any of yours in our starting 11, I'd definitely take Jedinak as a squad player.

6.Finally, what’s your score prediction for the game?
2-1 City :bluescarf: :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

I'd like to ask the Palace fan about the singing. Do you all attend choir practice, it's very clear and timed proper like.

It almost doesnt sound like a football crowd, more of a cheerleading troop.
