Swans did us a favour? Do me a favour!

Sun Mar 30, 2014 6:07 pm

I can't believe anyone could see win up the road against one of our OTHER rivals as a positive thing!

All the teams in the bottom part of the league are our competitors. What if Norwich had won yesterday? That would have deprived Swaaaaanzzeee of 3 vital points and brought them within our range, especially if we keep scoring goals as we did yesterday!!

It isn't just a case of not wanting sworn enemies to fail. It is a case of getting the best for us.

Truth is: Only a draw would have given us any benefit in long term. BUT: We had to win. A draw for us may have felt a bit of a relief. However, did it really do anything but reaffirm our need for defensive success.

I remain optimistic for the next 4 or 5 games. Win 3 and it will give us a chance, albeit at the mercy of other games out of our control.

The fact that Norwich have a horrific run-in will be irrelevant if we can't start winning against beatable clubs IMHO.

C'mon City!

Come on we were never going to get relegated , far too good for that so yes we did do you a favour

Swans winning yesterday was vital for us, Norwich have to get something from their next 2 to have a secure position now. Their last 4 are SOLID

Norwich have more points than us. We should not look at them as doomed. Dont forget when you play top teams and you are the underdog, anything can happen. They have nothing to lose in those games that are a hard run in. Less pressure on you against bigger teams mentally. Look what Palace done yesterday!

We need to be very careful of complacency here Boys. Come on lets be sensible. Even Gary the Mank expects more from the jack bastards and they are in better position than us. Lets not get deluded and rely on other teams results. We got to get 4 wins in my opinion so every game is a cup final.

Anybody know how Gary Medel is ?

Not as vital as us winning! It's such a negative way of approaching the fixtures when you hope others do the work for you. I'll state it again: Clubs around us (all bottom tier of PL) need to draw and we need to win. That way, we control our destiny.

Every prem game is solid. I think Norwich have it easier in some respects because the bigger fixtures that they will be playing are safe therefore they tend to switch off without realising. And they will be playing Norwich who are fighting for their life and will give it everything. Every Norwich player will lay their body on the line you watch and see it unfold. You know im right There will be points in those big games for Norwich

I disagree with this statement - I actually feel it was a result that helps us. Norwich are not going to get many more points and lets face it Gippos are safe. If it came down to it Id fancy them getting a vital point here or there rather than Norwich - so thats our target

Yeah but are more likely to pick up points than Norwich!

I see your point to be fair. It just doesn't sit comfortably with me when our fans are enjoying a Jack victory. They are out of sight now by the look of it. Maybe a new 3rd tier will open up. Then we can start to regard any win against that section as a positive.

Guess the 3-0 at Jackland is still hurting. If we had won that, the table would be very different with the momentum we may have created. Pivotal moment.

Even if the Jack Bastards stay up ,We are the bigger club and always will be bigger even if we are not playing as good football at the moment. I wish I never watched the highlights of their game as they looked very good and i was gutted because Norwich are their bogus team to play like WestHam is ours yet they win 3-0 grrrrrr

We've to play Sunderland last game of the season.Be interesting to see how things will look by then. Can you imagine us being comfortable and having to go up there and do you lot a favour. :?: Would you all be Jacks for the day? :laughing6:

Or would we just roll over and send you down with a firm 'get the phuck out of here' mindset :?:

As doubtful as it seems you may still need a result up there yourselves. After this weekend it does look likely you will stay up and if we're still not down by then I will be hoping Swansea can help us by winning . I don't think your players would roll over 3 points could mean a big jump in premiership places and prize money at that stage. Interesting reading a lot of the comments regarding too good to go down do most of your fan base really believe that.

Norwich were always more likely to go down considering their fixtures. Our rivalry with the Jacks is completely irrelevant at the moment, if they're helping us stay up then I don't care if they win.

What do you think your team would do if that happened. If ball was in other court I know I'd want us to help you get relegated.

I always care if the Jack Bastards win. I sometimes physically vomit when they win or even draw. Its like the sound of nails down a blackboard. It really grates on me.

I think cendl blue made the point about the extra points and higher placing meaning more money so knowing our board that would be their priority.

Speaking as a fan though, well I'm in that same boat as you :D I made this point at the start of the season on here that it might happen. It's starting to look quite possible.

Jackf is spot on though. We've a team now with no injuries and confidence is high.Michu returning and Bony scoring is sure enough to push us on and into the top 12.

Been saying it for months that we were never going to go down. At no point this season have i been worried.

We are now probably safe with 6 games to go, thats hardly a dogfight as many were trying to portray.

We could quite conceivably not gain another point and stay up.

Re: Swans did us a favour? Do me a favour!

Mon Mar 31, 2014 8:46 am

I would say the result favoured us. If it was a draw then Norwich would have been on 33, same as Swansea are now, and Norwich have much more difficult fixtures than Swansea, so better to keep Norwich on 32 as thats only 2 wins more for us to catch them.

If we win a a couple and Norwich get tumped by City or Liverpool then theres a chance we could catch them on goal difference also.

You lot are running out of games fast and not getting the results you need off teams around you , you're doomed fellas
Sunderland , Fulham, Cardiff for the drop
This season wasn't all you were hoping for was it , you've probably had the worst prem experience since derbys record low pts
