Players who have let us down this season...

Sun Mar 30, 2014 1:07 pm

KTC - headless chicken, cost us 2 vital points against Sunderland at home.
Gunnarsson - has been terrible all season, not the hard tackler we all thought he would be, maybe his injury affected him.
Kim - bag of piss, gets pushed off the ball to easy, cannot spot a pass if it slapped him in the face.
Cornelius - enough said.
Connolly - hasn't played much, but no surprise considering how he got skinned everytime first game of the season.
Bellamy - hit and miss, usually more of a miss, on vasts amounts of wages which could of been used on someone who can play 3 games in a row without getting injured.
Cowie - crap, league 1 at best.
Conway - more pace in a turtle.
Maynard - can't cut it at prem level

To many players that are just to poor, our squad is the weakest in the league, but we spent more on transfers than 70% of teams in the league

I would class mason more as one for the future rather than this season, so no I would not include him. Smith goes straight in tho :thumbright:

Cowie was decent in his performances against City, Swansea and United, unfair to slate him

Hull away too, he played well. Created the Whitts goal.

Most wrong with Cowie, thought he's played well.
A bit harsh in Maynard considering he got set back a year with that injury
KTC has proved a decent signing, you're only bitter because Malky signed him
Conway hasn't played but has played really well in the Championship, one of our better players last year.
Kim has had some decent moments, only thing that let's him down is his strength
As for Gunnar, how do people expect him to perform with people constantly on his back? Started the season well, not suited to a 3 man midfield. Also got an assist yesterday.
Bellamy hasn't done a lot wrong either.

You're just a bitter c**t to almost all of Malky's signings. I think do be safe on betting that you've only supported City in the last 3 years or you're about 15.

Forgot to add Taylor and witts have been poor this season.

That assist was quality. Such a well worked goal I seem to remember. Cowie has done a good job when asked of him. Not influential completely but a good option never the less

I'm not going on one or 2 games, I'm going on the whole season, these players have just not been consistently good, of course most of them have had the odd game or 2 where they've played well.

I think its harsh to say let down. Maybe not good enough for prem football. Big gap and costs serious $$$$ to put a premiership sustainable team together.

This is not a good excuse. He is a professional, he should be able to handle the pressure in PL. Temperament is vital.

But Chucks other sides might not have spent as much BUT already had the squad base ?

There's a pic of me in the fa cup final programme from 2008, so I have hardcore evidence I have supported cardiff for a minimum 6 years. The earliest memory iv got of supporting cardiff is when we beat Leeds in the cup at ninian park. And I'm 28 not 15 :thumbright:

Re: Players who have let us down this season...

Not many players have "let us down", apart from Zaha they have given their best but proved just not good enough.

In my opinion the element that have let us down are our home fans.

Kim has been the biggest disappointment for me, expected big things from him in this league and apart from the odd moment he's been shit and at directly at fault for many goals.

I don't know what has happened to Kim. Anyone remember around the Man City game?. He was unplayable at times.

He is good enough.

Wait until the World Cup before you start thinking about shipping him out.

Too lightweight for my liking.

Last season he certainly had the battle in him to win the ball but this campaign he has simple been swallowed up. If there is anything I have been surprised about the premiership and it is the difference in physical strengths of the players. Although I expected it to be a bit more difficult in this department the difference is like sailing an ocean.

Agreed. When Diame was swatting Gunnarsson away like a fly in our opening game of the season, the gulf in physicality, pace and power was there to see. It was an eye opener. I have to agree Kim has been our biggest disappointment this season. From Liverpool away onwards, he has really struggled, getting muscled off the ball, bullied and swallowed up. He also seems to have lost that burst of pace to go past players, although that's probably because his confidence has gone.

Re: Players who have let us down this season...

KTC poor
Brayford - Pointless
Gunnarsson - Poor.
Kim - hit and miss and light weight
Cornelius - awful
Connolly - Not good enough
Cowie - squad player only
Maynard - Not good enough
Etien - Not good enough
Tommy Smith - not good enough
John - Shouldnt be near the squad
Mason - wasted most of the season in Limbo
Taylor - Not good enough
Lappin - Not good enough

A rough guess would say thats nearly 200k a week on players that are simply not up to standard.

We're just out of our depth, in every possible way. The only positive thing for me is that I can now say that I have supported the City in all four divisions :bluescarf: Bit selfish, I know, but every cloud has a silver lining.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW HAVE CORNELIUS CONNOLLY COWIE CONWAY AND MAYNARD LET US DOWN
THEY have hardly played all year. You may as well include Brayford (the invisible man). You have to blame managers for buying them and then thinking they are not good enough to play. Whether they are / were good enough is another question although I agree that most probably are not.
Look at players who have been in the team and not tried 100 % start with Kenwynne Jones (thepassenger) whitts (thejogger) and go from there!

Re: Players who have let us down this season...

i like KTC, i feel he's a very good right back, sadly, he plays in our defence which makes him look poor..... we have no-one on the wing who gives and offers support
