agree ith some of that annis ,but i think dave jones done well with the shit that was going on at the time all our good players being sold and not even having a training pitch some days ,do you think he would of bought better than malky tho ?
Fri Mar 28, 2014 7:27 pm
I can't see how they can be compared considering the millions and millions malky had, but I enjoyed the footy played under jones compared to the malky.

Dave Jones made huge profits over his time here....
Malky acquired a HUGE £600,000 from his transfer sales...

i didnt like dave jones as a person due to his swansea comment" just another game " but i think if tan came in earlier and gave jones the money he gave malky he would of got us up and probably kept us up but we will never know

Not sure, a long with the egos the players we had under Jones were incredible on their day.
Didn't bother me if Chopra at a gambling addiction in the 09/10 season because what he done the pitch was different gravy.

Ramsey was brought through, - 5.5m
Ledley was brought through could have got a bit of money
Johnson - bought for 250k, sold for 5m
Jones got us money back, Malky got us nothing

Malky didn't get us anything? What league are we playing in?

I agree jones made cardiff alot of money. From malkys buys the only 2 i could see us turning a tidy profit on, would be noone and mutch. I think we will lose money on medel when sold as he was overpriced.
Fri Mar 28, 2014 7:58 pm
I'd say Campbell would bring a tidy profit aswell, but, it's amazing that there's only 3 from, what, 30 signings?

A lot of Malky's signing were for free when he first came. He had to pretty much build a squad from scratch. I'd imagine Campbell, Caulker, Mutch, Noone, Kim, Theophile, Turner will all make a profit

Pathetic really. I would say even from Ole signings a profit could me made on Daelhi, fabio and cala. The problem for malky is he overspent on a lot of players, and even for the players he didn't overspend on they turned out to be garbage.

I can't see any1 paying more than 9 mil for caulker

Kim was 2.5 wernt he? Who would pay that now after his performances? And KTC is poor, no prem team will buy him. Campbell would bring a small profit if a prem team was willing to take a punt on him, mutch, noone and turner would bring a profit I would say.
Medel will never be resold for the price we paid, 5-8 mil I would say, leaving a minimum 3 mil loss, and cornelius has already added a 10 mil loss to the accounts
Brayford, velikonja, kiss, odemwingie also add up to over another 5 mil of losses from malky.
I can't see any1 paying anywhere near the 2.5 mil paid for Maynard either.

listen, when we had no money jones brought some quality lets be fair, rog, loovens, whitts, chopra, bothroyd, hudson marshall, so lets not say he bought just sh*t....but then malky bought work ethic players which also worked

Oles signings where valued at 9,5 million, bought for 6 million. Potensial value 40 million or more. Where is the list wonka posted a while back with all tranfers some years back? Brilliant post that was with long forgotten figures..

Talking profit here mind mate.. I'd assume that given an equal budget jones would of go us over the line

Jones made profit from scratch..

both on a par IMO
Fri Mar 28, 2014 11:06 pm
sorry Wez didn't read the question correctly
Its hard to say but I have a gut feeling that Jones would have spent it better, to be fair, and
I am not trying to be a prick but it would be hard to get much worse.
despite the good signings you would be hard pushed to waste the money that Malky did.
Odemwingie
Cornelius
Brayford
Those 3 alone costing well above £10 million.
I think Malky did a good job down here and deserved more time BUT in answer to the question I think Jones would have
spent better, just.

Without a doubt, a Dj would have rook us up with style
Sat Mar 29, 2014 1:06 am
yes DJ signed the dirty dozen.........i suppose thats what you have to do when you have not got millions of pounds.
and then lay the law down?. there are players you can do that with and players you can not,he chose talent that had flaws.
and tbh got the best out of many of them......loovens,burke,r johnson, jerome, chops, jay.whittingham and arguably koumas the 1st time .all played their best football at our club..betting slips or not.
my dream of us playing at wembley..happened 3 times
and as for youngsters..............blake,mathews,gunter,ramsey..all given debuts......ledley and jerome had been given debuts the previous year, but jones kept faith with both who when he took charge were both only 18 year olds.......
lets be honest..its not like Ole was left the malky babes is it?
he lost the dressing room.............19 points from the last 10 games,MM got 18 and 15, he lost the dressing room too?
but for me,what really does it,is, the day he walked in to our club we had less than 3000 ST holders, the day he left it was just short of 18,000..6 times as many.....that didnt happen because we were shit and he was useless.or did it happen through an investor throwing 50million at the club either.
it happened because he did a fantastic job.
i doubt that Mr Mackay would have looked at leaving Watford for the Cardiff City DJ took over.
Mon Mar 31, 2014 11:45 am
Hhmmm tough one, DJ made a number of very good signings but also some cheaper dodgy ones.
I would have easily said Malky until his summer spend which showed he does not know how to spend when given a bigger budget.
Id say they would have been on par but we would have had a few more footballers to enjoy watching rather than run around chasing the ball.

Jones bought Hudson and Marshall.
Our two best players in the promotion winning season, not to mention help keep the club afloat by selling some top quality players for a profit.
Mon Mar 31, 2014 11:54 am
Dave Jones would have bought Kenwyne Jones for £40 million.
I have as much factual relevance as other opinions on this thread.
Pointless.
Fact is, if we stay up, Mackays transfers will have done their job. People are forgetting how much Tan is pocketing from being in the Premier League.
The £30 odd million we spent is absolutely nothing compared to what Tan will get in TV rights and what we earned from winning the Championship last year.
Tan gave Mackay a budget. He spent it on players he thought would do well and some have done well, some haven't. Life goes on.
Mon Mar 31, 2014 11:56 am
Why do some constantly feel the need to compare managers....
Mon Mar 31, 2014 2:01 pm
Malky & Moody were the football equivalent of Blair & Brown when it come to spending money.
Would like to have seen how Ole would have spent that 35m budget.

Ole will never be fucked by agents, he's intelligent and honest, he never milks from transfers
