Oi Vincent Tan! Why Cardiff City will always be blue

Throughout the dissent at the re-brand, the attempted protests and the attempted fight back, the fans always seemed divided on the issue.

Today, for the first time in almost two years of re-brand hell, it felt like the fan base was united. It felt like we were all marching, excuse the pun, in the same direction.

Firstly, the pre-match march. It was amazing to see so many Cardiff City fans turn out for it. It could have been a damp squib, thanks to the showers above us, but the fans didn’t hide. There were, according to police estimates, around 4,000 fans on the march. It was overwhelmingly positive.

A sea of blue, marching towards the ground and it stretched as far as the eye could see. I was smack bang in the middle of the crowd and it was impossible to see either end of the train. Pro-blue songs were sung and it was all in very good spirits. There was no trouble and no problem.

Whilst Vincent tan dismissed the pro-blue crowd as just five per cent, this felt so much more.

And then, at 19 minutes and 27 seconds, a sea of blue. Vincent Tan was stood, in his directors box, when fans around the ground raised their blue scarves above their heads. Everywhere you looked, a blue scarf.

I was proud to see it. For so long, fans had been apathetic, fans had been silent. But today they sung loud and proud. Kudos to the supporters groups who organised it; it was heartening to see so many fighting for this football club.

It was vital that Tan saw the protests. There was no doubt that he did see it. He might have scuttled off very quickly after the display but he saw it.

Tan is kept in a little bubble, away from any dissent and any protest. But today it was shown to him in full force. The Cardiff City stadium was blue. It was overwhelmingly blue. Tan cannot ignore this.

Though, I assume he will. These moments of dissent are always followed by vindictive outbursts from Tan. Usually before a huge game.

West Brom away next Saturday is the biggest game of our season. And I expect the club to be destabilised in the days before.

I'm guessing this is your sickening Carl. So will you retract that last two paragraphs if nothing happens and issue an apology?

And why would I need to issue an apology exactly ?

Damn predictive text, that should have read article, not sickening.

What I am saying is that you are suggesting Tan will do something within the next week as a petulant retaliation to the march. In effect bringing into question his character without any evidence or proof. You knoe as well as i do that fans will start using this as a fact and basing opinions on it as if it were true when it is just wild speculation at best. If Tan does nothing of the kind over the next week the will you state that you got it wrong whilst issuing a correction and an apology?

I am not suggesting anything Natman, I have put a link up from an article in a newspaper.

I await your apology.

And for the record, I said to Annis last night, if the march is as successful as we think then I believe we will see a response from Vincent Tan within 10-14 days.

Do you really think that Carl? I really don't think this bothers him and we won't see blue until he goes

I'm not sure if we'll hear anything from him but he was clearly bothered today, the chants and scarves at 19:27 rattled him, he didn't know where to look.

If Tan doesn't get the message after today, then he never will. Though I suspect that he's known the score for a while, just too arrogant to admit that he's made a mistake. Too used to being surrounded by yes-men. Not man enough to change his mind.

Our best hope is that Dalman and OGS might persuade him, but depends how much they care. They know what side their bread is buttered, but they are supposed to be football men. They both know that this situation is wrong, and farcical.

Not saying that I want it to happen, but I strongly suspect that we need to be relegated for anything to change.

Regardless of who wrote the article the assumption made in it about tan reacting by giving an interview in response is a fair assumption. He's got form for it!

I'm glad this is a sticky, the rebrand issue is the most important issue at our club

I think that is too logical Carl, The man is now very wounded and a wounded animal gets dangerous. :ayatollah:

Well overdue but the march today was brilliant me and my two young kids felt safe and comfortable marching we all felt proud to see are true colour out there with so much support for it .

Even better was the 19:27 stand by the whole stadium against tans shambolic rebrand of out club.

I would strongly urge every fan to carry the 19:27 stand of defiance through every game so he definitely gets the message. Its been way overdue but so good to see and long may it continue.

The organisation was so good and who ever came together to organise it all deserves a big thankyou and keep it going tans on the ropes now dont let him recover.
