Is this a "Hold me back" "Hold me back" march?

Mon Mar 17, 2014 6:04 pm

About to go to bed but a final thought about this march. Lets hope we can keep it relitively insult hurling free, although im sure im asking a bit too much there

It seems to me to be quite meek. One of those scenarios where you are posturing rather than doing it to invoke ACTUAL change.

It all looks fine on the surface, marching for the blue and the heritage etc. but then when we look a little bit deeper I see lots of talk about "media will love us" and "No Tan out chants".

Now we all know that Tan has been quite clear "we will not be blue while im owner" so if you know you will be red as ling as he is owner then why are you marching for blue without marching for the removal of Tan? As ive said before its like being against fascism but wanting mussolini to stay in power.

It seems to me that this os one of those "hold me back!" Moments where you are trying to look the part for the cameras and to be ale to say "at least we tried something" - rather than actually delivering your message, not wanting to rock the apple cart and at the end of the day AGAIN putting cash ahead of the traditions that you are marching for.

Discuss.

So you think by keeping Tan in power is a good idea if your goal is blue back?

Its about gaining numbers. Not many want Tan out so a few hundred wont bother him. You get a few thousand marching for blue and after a few peaceful marches and he hasnt changed his mind you have a few thousand who now want Tan out. Small steps.

can you see yourself making the jump from blue to tan out?

I have not met a Cardiff fan who wants to be red, we all want to be blue but have differing opinions about the whole rebrand, it's implications and possible scenarios of upsetting Tan.

This protest is to show that we agree together on one thing and that is the return of blue as our traditional home kit and restoring the bluebird to that of prominence and not an afterthought.

I agree with your first point.

Second point is, well, my point really. If you all know you want to be blue then why march about it if nobody wants to remove Tan - which lets face it, is the only way to get blue back.

Do you see where I'm coming from that it looks a bit pointless? Seems like a "ill show my face" type of protest rather than one actively looking for and invoking change.

Tell me if im being unfair.

You're being unfair as there are City fans as I said above who have differing opinions, some want Tan out and some don't yet.

But we all want Blue, so this opportunity is created to give everyone the chance to show that.

Excuse my questioning but it really is not making much sense to me.

everybody already knows that everybody wants blue back. But what seems odd is the ones who want to ACTUALLY get the blue back by calling for Tan out are being "hushed".

So is the march to invoke a change back to blue? It cant be in reality can it?

Tan has stated that 90% are supportive of him and only 10% and possibly less are not supportive.

Hopefully this will show that his 90% claim will be dismissed in front of his own eyes.

I can see where you're coming from. There's zero chance of us being blue under Tan so the only way to get it is to force him out so in theory it is a Tan Out march

The only way to get Tan out, is to let him do his best at making the club as "attractive" as possible for a buyer.
Only my opinion but I doubt the march will achieve anything. (sadly)

Even so Carl, I doubt he will change his stance on red. :(

Roathie is exhibiting the old human fear of believing that people cannot be moved from their intransigence.

Who would have thought that women would get the vote? that the US would have allowed gay marriage? that the Mubarak regime would be ousted from Egypt? that the USSR would disappear overnight?

Peaceful protest continues to change the world so why not at our club?

Correct but not doing anything at all will give him the impression that we don't care about our tradition and hopefully stop him going any further, also it helps to keep the blue in the stadium and youngsters especially may remember we are a blue football club.

Do I want blue back...? Yes do I want Tan out...No. For that reason I am not going on the march because that's what it will turn into: racist, bullshit comments and attitude.

Especially with BU there it's got disaster written all over it.

At the end of the day I still want a side to support. Having some asshole chanting Vt song" doesn't interest me sorry

at end of the day we are not going to force tan out he as to much money invested! he will go when he wants to not when we want him to go! so at moment best way forward is concentrate on getting colours/badge back, never know it may be catylist for other things if goes well and its shown in good light by media. :thumbright:

The ONLY way we are going to get our identity back is if Tan leaves. End of story.

Those who want Tan to stay AND our identity back have to decide which they want more because, unfortunately, both aren't going to happen.

Anyone disagree with any of that?

I dont disagree with that Chief unfortunately that is bang on.
And I have to say the " no one wants to be red" bit IMO is miles off. There are plenty that like the red or even love the red. If you have bought the red kit you have embrased the red.

Again I think you are right there are many that dont give a shit as long as we stay in the Prem. Do you agree with that Chief. That is the success before colour. Or is it colour before success ? Hmmmm
