I was shocked when I heard this on Monday night.

Wed Mar 12, 2014 9:52 pm

When we were meeting regarding the Protest, I said it would be good if we could get more woman/children on the protest.

Vince said over 30% of City's home crowds of 27,000 plus are woman this season

In the 80's & 90's it was less than 2%.

UPDATED

Spoke to Vince today, the actual figure is 33% of ' our home support ' is woman, (not the whole crowd).

Still a big shock to me, but those are the clubs figures.

I think Vince has got his maths wrong? :o

Can't be that many women. Near me there's only 2 women and a couple more down the front. I can't see there being more than 5000 women there really

Re: I was shocked when I heard this on Monday night.

I wonder how many females post on here

But does it matter? I'm female I love Cardiff city so what's the problem?

Even that's approx 1 in 5?
These figures are well out!

I am shocked it's that high but there are definitely more now than at ninian. I took my missus to the Peterborough game her first at the new ground and she couldn't believe the difference especially the toilets but did say she never had to queue as long before. even said it wasn't as loud as ninian park mind fair play to her. As long as they don't where those stupid pink cowboy hats like they do in the rugby I don't mind.

Seems high but no surpise football has changed from the 70s and 80s. If you looked at every club in the football league I expect it will be the same

I'd say it was under 2k, women are far better at the CCS than snotty nosed, cringeworthy teenagers.

1 in 3 in dont think so.

However the increase in women and proffesional sorts that modern football attracts are a big part of the reason the atmosphere has gone so shit.

what a load of shite!! i've been going for fookin years and have been to over 60 away grounds following city. You have rose tinted glasses mate, yes there were some big games and great atmospheres but i remember being at np when you could have a block to yourself let alone a row. the atmosphere defo wasn't better then!

and if by logic the atmosphere has gone shite it's more to do with the fact you old men are probably to old to sing loud now, typical bloke always someone elses fault!

it's not better at the moment - shite on the pitch equals shite in the stands! best atmospheres at np or new stadium have been against big clubs - i.e. real madrid, leeds (big at the time) man city this season.

Get real weve been top end of our league for the most part of our times in the CCS and aside from a few games (Jacks when Chopra scored last minute winner, QPR top of the table clash and Leicester when Gypes got sent off) the atmosphere has been shite.

At NP it wasnt just the big clubs, yes theres stand outs like Leeds and Man City but Ive seen brilliant atmospheres against shit clubs like Barnet and Wrexham, its not just the big clubs that a good atmosphere was created for.

NP was a far more intimidating atmosphere than the CCS and like it or not intimdation = better atmosphere.

the away end swapping with family stand put a dent in it in my view, but i've always been a bob bank girl so didn't really move anywhere ;)

Will agree on the family stand, that plays a part also, along with the clamp down on anti-social behaviour.

No issue with the women who have been long time fans anyway, the ones whove been there, done it, wore the wet t-shirt, its the new wave of women fans that grip my shit. Moaning about people standing up when these folk standing up are ST holders and these women have just come along for the odd game. Probably from Radyr at a guess.

Probably from Radyr at a guess.

i have exactly the same gripe about some male fans! i've got some moron sat behind me this season who moans if we stand up when we score. obviously not scoring that often the moaning isn't too often  but if it picks up he'll be put in his place!

i'm not sure if it's a new fan thing / a different fan thing / or a people getting older and grumpier thing but it's not a sex thing!

The people behind me in the grandstand told me to sit down when Fraizer went through to score against United.

Boring, old farts.

how rude!
