" I can see its attack Malky once again on here "

Why am I talking about Malky once again, because many on here, keep attacking his reign as City manager and Tan keeps talking about Malky to the media every couple of weeks.

Remember you all said all u wanted in the first season was Premiership survival and that was all.

Well in my 41 consecutive seasons of following City.

Eddie Mays years were my best along with Malkys, despite the despicable rebrand, Malky got the fans and the club close again after DJ had distanced the fans from the club. Malky put passion back in to our club.

I saw City play Liverpool in the Carling Cup Final and draw with them 2-2, one of the teams I hated as a child as many in South Wales supported them instead of City.
As I walked away from Wembley that day, my daughter said to me " Daddy we never lost, we drew with Liverpool at Wembley , what you always dreamt off " that I will rem for ever.

Malky won the Championship, but never just won it, he ran away with it.
Leicester City had big money. many before have and failed.

Cardiff City, a Premier League Club  Malky beat Manchester City at that moment in time they were the top club in Britain. Malky drew with the great Man United and beat the Jacks in our first ever top flight football. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Oops Malky made a terrible mistake and signed Cornelius, contract written up and signed off by Simon Lim, terrible buy I agree, Oops but Ole has always admired Cornelius as well. I forgot Malky when u won promotion, u brought up to £160 mill in to our club, forgotten by many.

Yet Tan who has stripped us of our identity, pride and passion and lent our club £150 mill, but not done as promised changed to shares is still loved by some.

Malky our fans loved you a year ago, u made mistakes and now some now want to hang u, short memories Hmm.

The main point of this topic is how fans have really turned on Malky, I really cant believe it.

I will find the write up later of where Ole was an admirer of Cornelius way before Cornelius signed for City.

This one was only a few weeks ago

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is confident Andreas Cornelius will make an impact at Cardiff City and wants to help the striker adjust to the demands of the Premier League.

Cornelius was a £7.5million signing from FC Copenhagen last summer, but he has yet to start a Premier League game for Cardiff.

He has made 10 appearances in all competitions without scoring, but Solskjaer believes the 20-year-old can be a success in south Wales.

The Cardiff boss points to his own time as a striker at Manchester United as an example of how players need to be given the chance to settle in English football.

"Andreas had a tough time with injuries and there is always a transition period with the culture and tempo. "

"I had a great first season at Man United, then I did my ankle and the whole second half I couldn't get up to the pace of the Premier League.

"So that's what we're doing now with Andreas. We're trying to get him going and working on his confidence.

"He's not had any luck in front of goal, so we'll work every day putting crosses in and getting him fit. He will make an impact at the club."

So your upset that fans are commenting on a previous manager..
But are quite happy to judge current boss Ole after 11/12 games :laughing5: :laughing5:

Although I agree he was a good manager but IMO at at a lower level and he never quite made the step up with the club to the premier league .
A couple of big money signings over 2 years which proved bad signings . Didn't like having to answer to somebody and had an authority complex when it came to tan .
You have to agree his team selections were confusing to say The least .

Id love to here him answer a few questions like
why he chose DonCowie as a winger and never played Craig Noone ?
Why did he loan out our only left winger Craig Conway then make out of position players fill that role ?
Why did he give mcnaughton a contract then go and buy two right backs ( 1 he never played ) and loan kev out ?
Why did he not solve the striker crisis from the two seasons under him before promotion ?
Why did he not strengthen the centre of our defence when we blatantly needed it ?
Why did we play such poor opposition in pre season on the build up to this season ?

He was a top guy and decent manager ( albeit with a big transfer kitty ) but a lot of his decisions were strange to say the least when it came to team affairs .

His results and performances in his last 2 months were poor and like he said all along , he should be judged on those !
He was and he was sacked .

I agree though he will go down on Cardiff city history as very successful and he was but he was by no means a "great" manager IMO .

Ive given my opinion on Ole and thats all and yes I respect everyones opinions on Malky, but many thanks to Tans spin have virtually gone on a crusade against Malky, yet Malky delivered so much, in such a short time and yes I am shocked by it.

I actually feels sorry for Ole coming in as our manager with Tan as owner, half way through a season where our club is divided by politics etc.

c'mon what else was he going to say about Cornelius he gave him a few minutes in the first team and a few games in the development and he had to make the decision on whether he would be good enough and was he worth the 45k a week he was on

I think Tan & cronies bring out the cynic in all of us. I used to be very easygoing about supporting City. I Supported the team/manager & enjoyed being a fan of our great club, not really commenting at all about off-field matters.

I genuinely want to get back to this state-of-mind. Sorry this post is off-topic

I agree he deserved for his accomplishments with us a full season to prove himself , but the way the season panned out with all the infighting with tan coupled with a poor run of form from November onwards his position became untenable . Which was a shame because it's very possible with a bit more backing in January he may well of got right what he failed to do in the summer window .

Ole shows glimpses of genius with substitutions and guts to go for games others wouldn't , but then at times his inexperiance in a relegation dogfight shines through with some of his tactics and team selections from the start of games .
So no IMO he was not the right person at that exact time but he will be the right person to lead us next year in the championship if we go down . If we stay up ? At least then it will be his team and he will have a bit of experience at This level

to get back on-topic. Malky deserves repect because he achieved alot for this club regardless how much backing he got financially.

Man City fans still regard Mancini as a good manager worthy of their respect. He wasted millions on the likes of Balotelli, but that's part of the game in the big leagues. Money gets wasted because clubs have more of it that lower leagues, added with 24hr news coverage telling the world how useless the signings are.

Nobody cares that much if Rochdale made a blooper shelling out £150k on a rubbish player cos the media spotlight is'nt on them.

Cardiff are in the big league this year peeps!

I am critical of Ole because I think Dalman is a complete idiot just shortlisting an ex-Utd legend because, umm, well he played for Utd I guess.

If somebody who worked for you spunked all your money will you sack him or say its ok you deserve a full year?

An maybe ole did admire cornelious that doesn't mean he thought he was worth 8 million and 45k a week.

We all respect malky for what he done, but I think most people agree that the championship is his level, he's a Adkins, Mcdermmot, Holloway, Warnock type manager, they are top championship managers but are just not good enough for the prem. Malky had poor knowledge of the transfer market and what it takes to survive in the prem, that was his major downfall IMO.

what it should do though is make you better prepared for the prem than those without money..........on this he failed.

Does it actually matter? Hes gone end if story! Was a good manager thats all nothing special, what manager wouldnt have got us promoted with the money he had! Anyone thinks different are blind!! His style of football was unsustainable in premier as stats from end of last season & this showed, eventually we would end up in bottom 3, only malky supporters think othetwise.

7 wins in his last 37 games. last season we won 3 of our last 13 we wasn't good we just were a bit lucky that everyone else was as bad as us. With a record like that he would of been sacked by most clubs right decision in my eyes.
