TODAY I FELL OUT OF LOVE WITH CARDIFF CITY

Sat Feb 22, 2014 10:10 pm

i have never felt so down after watching my bluebirds as i did today.. sat in our sterile stadium, listening to anti red songs while people argue amongst themselves, no fun, no banter, no passion. it was completely without soul..i have spent 30 years enjoying the passion, songs, banter and some great matches too. i really dreamt of playing in the premiership against man utd, liverpool etc and thought the atmosphere would be incredible, telling everyone who would listen, wait till cardiff get there, you will never see support like it. How wrong. utter shite, heart of the club has been ripped apart, no unity between fans, not even the man on the tanoy can shout bluebirds anymore So for me,today made my mind up. no more season ticket renewals and stick your red up your arse.

I think your views are shared by many city fans,me included. Our club will lose all the fans who watched them through thick and thin and they will be replaced by the new brigade who know f**k all about what it means to be a fan of this amazing club.At least I was there when our fans were the greatest on the planet and supporting city in those days were awesome win or lose!!

Blah blah blah! It's part of the process! The old fans get replaced by so called plastics who ten become the new future fans!

It's just the way it is! The so called plastics (new) of today will be the hardcore fans of the future!

I think loyal supporters like him will be missed you only had to be there today to experience how quiet it was and the lack of passion amongst our own fans. I know the football didn't inspire us bit neither did it years ago and we were twice as passionate.

We should all be having the season of our lives but in truth its turning into a nightmare.

People have always stopped going, for whatever reason. Selling Toshack, anyone?

Only difference now is that they can announce it on here. All a bit melodramatic.

Younger fans usually replace the ones who call it a day. That's how it's always been.

I totally agree with you, its just strange how so many "older" fans have all fallen out of love with the club / game at the same time!!

I would like to point out that all the issues you speak of come down to Tan and
Tan alone

I don't mean to correct you - but I think you fell out of love with Tan today and realised what his poison has reaped on our club

Don't hate Cardiff City Fc - hate Tan

Tan out

Football not just Cardiff City died a long time ago

I am mortified at what has happened to this club. We have let the weak over run this once strong club. Fuckinghell, 20 years ago there would have been murder at a hint of a change of colour at this club.
but something happened to change that passion, maybe all the main lads have moved on or cannot be bothered and there aint many to take over, who knows.

But football is a bitch to the money men game over

Same here. After 22 years, 17 consecutive season tickets, me and my family have sadly made the decision that we cannot go anymore. I've had a great 20 years or so, been to approx 55 grounds, no one will experience again what it used to be like around 93-2000 home and away and every Ninian Park game. Never forget my first away game to Edgar Street, around 94, horses in the away end, lost 4-1, Jason Perry and Stanty sent off. Think 9 foot 4 striker Kevin Francis bagged a hat trick!! Can't replicate those days. Tan has turned this club into a laughing stock and a circus as some people say. The day I fell out of love was when I walked up those steps to see all those supporters showing Tan how his red seats would look with those free scarfs on. It makes me cringe to the pit of my stomach to imagine how smug he was that evening. I am so glad we refused those scarfs and told them we had our own blue ones. To take one of those would have made me feel dirty now and a supporter of Tan and everything he is trying to do at the club that I am fully against.
Cheers all!
Lee.

Lee, I take no satisfaction in your comments, but just a realisation of what you say is true, and believe me it saddens me.

For the record I took my 7 month pregnant wife to Edgar Street when they let us in in through the open gate cos the crush at the 2 turnstiles was too much. Unfortunately for one reason or another (mainly draconian laws) that will not happen again.

On the upside I have a lovely 26 year old son who is Cardiff through and through. :ayatollah:

I'm not saying I agree with the horses etc mate, I can't remember much about it, I was only about 15. I seem to remember the end of the game and not the start of the game as you say. Depends where you are at that time I suppose. I would have probably been in the ground really early back then as I always was so prob wouldn't have seen this.

Might well have been, or I might have got the wrong son cos he was born 5 years later!

Whatever, I was at Edgar Street with the missus 7 month pregnant when chaos ensued... fact.

I think it was the year after we went up as champions in 93. If not definately the season after. I see what you mean about timescales above. Def not 88 tho as I didn't start following City till I could go down on my own in Jan-93.

Nothing will ever be as bad as when we played brighton last year, even if we will lose 5-0 to fulham in a couple of weeks.

I thought the atmosphere was good yesterday especially all the anti red songs, its a shame they wernt sung last year.

Kinda agree...

Damning defeat that pretty much shows us as the weakest team in the league and a fan comes out and says "I've fallen out of love".

Well suits you sir.....

Personally the club not the owners or separate factions of fans but the club needs your support now more than ever.
