Cardiff City boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scraps Abu Dhabi trip after Hull City horror-show

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has scrapped plans for a warm-weather training trip to the Emirates after being humiliated by Hull .

Nikica Jelavic's brace and goals from Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore saw the Tigers tear into the Bluebirds and hand them their biggest home hiding in 14 years.

The result left Cardiff's survival hopes hanging by a thread – and Solskjaer making a dramatic u-turn on a planned winter training break in Abu-Dhabi.

Cardiff had been set to make the seven-hour journey tomorrow ahead of next week's clash at Tottenham, but instead will go back to the drawing board at home after demanding improvements from his under-pressure side.

WalesOnline understands Solskjaer made the call in the aftermath of the thumping by Steve Bruce's team off his own back, determined to drive home his ideas on the training ground with extra sessions as he seeks the first of five wins he says will secure Cardiff's safety – and he still believes can come.

Solskjaer said: “Everyone realises where we are at and the situation we are in. It will take a monumental run to catch some of the teams. We need five wins from the last 11 but I still think we can get them – but we need loads of improvements.”

C'mon not really got a choice has he, wouldn't look good would it , truth is no one wants it on the park at the moment , the chances we are creating we are not putting away, strike force just not good enough .end of, to late now IMO the inevitable will happen , good riddance to the prem if we are not good enough to compete let's go to the championship and compete again , painfull to watch at the moment.

I should think so, the best these useless bunch of wankers deserve is a free trip to Barry island and a dip in the warm welcoming Bristol channel

I would have them training twice a day all week until they get it right.Practise practise practise first rule of being professional is to be better than anyone else BEST of the BEST.
We are playing like a team of individuals with no idea where we are going. Time for the leaders to step forward, we CAN still do it if the players WANT IT.
If we do go down we need a group of players who are up for the premier league next time, players who are experienced playing at that level.
Not buying players with premier experience has been our downfall this time.
Going to get hammered now with some bottles of wine been a crap day. :(

Failing to train on shit wet pitches isn't going to do anyone any good.

Should have gone away and got away from all the negative press and trained properly in the sun.

Monk had Swansea doing TWO sessions a day, not sure if it's right for us with all the injuries we've got but these sessions need to have more intensity and aggression

It's probably the first bit of good p.r the club has done in two years. They would have been slaughtered if they went. If ole made the call well done it's the only decision you got right this weekend

Good on him. Whilst he's at it, get Rhys Healey in there too. Is he ready for the Premier League? Probably not, but he's the only f*cking City player used to scoring goals right now, and we need that confidence in the team. Just take a chance on the kid, IMO.
