An apology to Roath Magic

Fri Feb 14, 2014 12:43 pm

Roath Magic is a poster that is well known on here & posts regularly about the issues surrounding Cardiff City. His posts are not well recieved by the vast majority of the readers here & often gets abused for his troubles.

Magic's posts regarding the rebrand are spot on to me & it hurts reading them. Deep down, we haven't done enough of a fan base & he is right when he says that Tan can feel he can do what he wants because he has had hardly any opposition.

Reading these posts hurt me deep down & in spite, I trolled Magic in way of abuse and silly remarks. This was totally out of order & I apologise to Magic for doing so. It won't happen again Roath.

I think deep down, the majority know you are right, it's extremely hard to admit that your club is in a mess, especially when it's a rival pointing it out.

Apologies again.

Its easy to have a go specially a club that unfortunately finds itself in our situation.

You can only transparently see one other club in the same situation as us and that being Hull. There are other clubs in similar situations that are not so transparent. Newcastle comes to mind and I say this from knowing a few Newcastle fans who keep informing me of what Ashley is trying to do to them by removing their history in a quiet way. Leicester is another club who if you look closely are advertising thier owners country just as much as us. The Thais at Leicester get away with it because they have not made that obvious step that has happened with us.

Personally I dont think we are any different to other clubs. We have put up resistance just as much as any other club would have. Well a number of us have, the same number at Hull and I would reckon the same number at any other club if they found themselves in our shoes. I think you will find that what outsiders expect us to do is what they see when clubs are in dire straights like unavoidable administration.

To say we are not doing enough is just short sightedness. I don't see our ground a sea of red which is the wish of the owner so we must be doing something right.

Your club has had far more done to it that those you mention though Ian. I don't think any of the clubs you mention would accept a complete rebrand as readily. The club is barely recognisable and its sad to see, genuinely.

As I said in a thread earlier. Any opposition has been quite wishy washy and lacked any sort of conviction. Many who held the opinions of the protesters seemingly wanted it to fail so they could continue as it is. Although I think many hate what the club has become they are also punch drunk on the "kudos" of being a Premier League club.

Lets not forget that it was fans opinion that swayed Tan to continue with his rebranding after initially saying it would not go ahead. You cant say that about any of the clubs you mention.

Take a look at what you did for Malky. 90 minute chanting and stayed after the game for 40 minutes in support of him. That was a manager of 2 years who was probably rightly getting his marching orders in honesty. Yet there isn't a whimper about changing your club from blue to red and doubling the debt (the reason many claim as the reason for accepting the rebrand in the first place).

It is my firm belief, if you clubbed together as fans then you would get what you want. However it seems the ones who claim they want the blue back also dont want to give away the trappings that come with Tans regime. I think people need to decide what they hold as most important because at the moment everybody wants to have their cake and eat it, and its the club that is suffering.

You have an audience here and a major platform in the form of the forum and a lot of respected and influential people here who hold these opinions. You should use it and save your club. There is no way Tan will want to stick around with the embarrassment of constant protests - he may even decide that relenting and turning you back may be more beneficial than walking away. If you are all not enjoying it and feel the club is not yours anymore - what do you have to lose?

You should take advantage of premier league status and the media attention it brings, they will be all over you like a rash in your favour and it can be used as major pressure on Tan who does not like to be humiliated. He may have yes men all around him who tell him what he wants to hear, but the british press wont, especially when they are constantly bemoaning foreign ownership.

Too much moaning and excuse making for me amazed at the amount of people saying they are giving up and walking away in recent days.. Its your club, take it back.

I agree with some of your views, but the way you talk is ridiculously pretentious and self indulgent.

I expect some people agree with some things I say, that doesn't turn me into anything other than an occasional poster on forum. You are not some prophet sent by god to explain football to the rest of us simpletons.

The way you write, you would think you could nonchalantly reel of scripture. But all it is a opinion about football that is very often wrong.

Roath your post above is one of the best posts I have ever seen on this board. You were spot on with everything you said. And FFS it took a fooking Jack to say it. Shame on us all

Well im not a traditional jack lets be fair. I was disliked by them for saying it how it is too, dont bother me in the slightest :D

Its not too late Nukes.

You have twelve more 90 minute slots with access to a world stage. Ignore the football, its irrelevant.

Take your club back and get yourself heard. Wearing blue and carrying on as normal and convincing yourself it is enough will change nothing. Thats the one thing you can be sure of.

Re: An apology to Roath Magic

Something I just posted on another thread which I don't think has been mentioned before and is quite apt here.

A lot of people are under the impression that if they "enjoy the ride" because once Tan sells you then the new owners will turn you back to blue and all will be fine.

They are forgetting that the rebrand was implemented in the first place to attract these investors and eventually a buyer - so the chance of them getting rid of their main points they bought for, is slim to none. Think you just have to club together and take no shit because Tan could be one of a long line of people waiting to have their way with you.

Say what you want about him but he does make a good post.Irritating, yes.Persistent, yes but in these tough times for your club he's bound to annoy the majority on here for speaking the truth.Maybe he should now stay as roath magic and forget all the crap in banning him as it clearly doesn't work. And if we're all honest about it i bet nearly everyone on this board will read his posts.

Let him post as Roath Magic and just don't respond if he gets to you that much.It really isn't difficult.

This is utter claptrap! We were all down the bay celebrating promotion? Singing, " You Jack bastards we are coming for you".
We all wanted major investment in the squad, we celebrated the summer signings, Medel,Caulker and Cornelius.
Now it looks like we are in trouble with regard to Premier League survival we are all pointing the finger.
We are acknowledging William as a soothsayer, if the season had been more successful, I wonder what the reaction would have been?
Williams here to provoke, to show how clever he is, he is not clever at all.
The future for Swansea, reminds me of Wigan, a few glory years in the premiership but they don't have the infrastructure or financial backing to sustain their success.
A cup final appearance but destined for lower league existentence. We have witnessed their plight before.

there is a bigger picture here .it could happen to anyone.yr club has always been known as a club with fire in it,s belly.hull city to a certain extent too.i been to the old ground up there.they cared about hull when the k.c was just a distant dream.i will state on here that if the villa had a rebrand and lads tried to fight it id have respect for them and try to offer support.the ones who bent over backwards to accomadate tan know they have been shafted.stevie wonder blindfolded in a celler could see that.time for a bit of honesty and put their hands up.then get involved in getting yr club back.it aint just the colours is it?it,s the lack of transparcy and the way tan just decides with out a thought for anyone but himself what he wants to do.they are on about stopping banners at blues now,i aint been much at all this season due to having to changed circumstances but i will do again when it,s possible.the club are siting health and saftey issues :laughing6: if the banners said i love carson do you think they,d be banned?saw a great one the other day-made in birmingham, destroyed in hong kong.

he,s a hero to many on here .wont hear a word against him.continued support despite his wrecking of yr club.if i have missed a statement from you against his custodianship of yr club then i apoligise.cant recall seeing one though.seriously, things will get worse at ccfc .tan isnt going to stop his rebranding unless he is either stopped by law(name change)or turned on by the vast majority of fans.what roath says is correct.you have a captive audience every week to millions of viewers.it wont affect the team.blues at charlton last weekend -proud of the team but hate the board.didnt affect blues one bit.the players aint stupid.they know of the discontent.might even lift the atmosphere

The stalker has arrived :D

I realise I get bogged down in his rubbish but it wont be happening anymore. Its tricky when im pretty much all he talks about. It was clear that he would become the main contributor to a thread about Roathie :D

Anyway, Im glad the post has been received well and hope even more so that it may provoke some into action.
