A forum for all things Cardiff City

I accepted the rebrand for the good of keeping the club but with all thats followed i'm done.
1. Fans divided and turning on each other, constant sniping.
2. Politics in and around club with fans, shareholders etc.
3. Fans turning on players;players shouting to the fans they are wankers.
4. Media circus around stupid club statements etc.
Will not be renewing next year and will not miss it. What was meant to be our glorious season has been dire for all the above reasons.
Going back to running pub league football team next year.

Feel the same, I'm not renewing for the same reasons, also die to the fact I live away from Cardiff now and can't afford the travel.. I've been going down since I was 6 (I'm 24) worked for the club on the turnstiles in the last years of Ninian park, but I've had enough now. Today was just a fuc king joke!

If you stay away from these forums I believe you will enjoy it far more. All the doom and gloom day in day out is enough to depress anyone.

This ^^^^^
I'll be sticking with my club in any league, as my support is unconditional.
I honestly believe the Tan era will pass soon enough and normality will return.

Paul, I never thought I would hear u saying this, its very sad to read. We might have our difference of opinions, but we both always wanted the club to succeed before anything else.

I do agree with you, but I usually only come on here for the giggles of watching people arguing roathy. Everything that has happened at the club the last few seasons have taken its toll now. Rebrand, tan v malky, tan v malky 2 the sacking and tan v malky 3 the aftermath has done it for me

He is right the enjoyment has gone. Whats keeping me going ? My mates that's what. Used to be gutted when we loose not any more.

I'm big enough to admit you were right about VT and all thats followed. Think the split with fans will take years to repair and the bond between players and fans has unravelled.
The premier league has proved to be a poisoned chalice, it was actually more enjoyable getting there than being here if that makes sense.
When going out of duty rather than enjoyment comes along a decision has to be made.

I'm with you on this....first time since 1987 that I've not enjoyed a season of football ....and hard to believe its when we're in the premiership

Feel exactly the same mate. All the off field stuff has killed it .

It is really sad for Cardiff and I don't know a single fan of any club who doesn't think that Vincent Tan is a tosser. He's destroyed Cardiff's history with the rebrand and created a schism in the fan base that may never be truly repaired. You had so much to look forwards to with this ground breaking season in the Premiership but it's a mess. It's a real mess.
I just hope you come out of it OK but I'm buggered if I know what the solution is.

Its very Sad to hear and it will take many years for us fans to get back together, but already I have total respect for you for posting that and I know we both care about our club, even though we did have totally different views on Tan
Thu Feb 13, 2014 10:17 pm
Its amazing how a lot of supporters feels this way when we should be having the season of our lives especially if you have been there from the bottom up!!
The buzz has gone and i no longer look forward to match day the way i did in past seasons.
Is this just down to the rebrand or the way in which football has changed in the last few years, i have puzzled over this for the last few months and still cannot truly answer.
Debating whether to renew or not as i still feel something would be missing.
Bluebird for life.
Thu Feb 13, 2014 11:05 pm
True and the enjoyment has gone and the club is slowly dying. Blue vs Red, Tan vs Malky, Ole vs Malky, Tan vs Tan, Loyal vs Plastic this club has more divisions that the football league.
Fans are the lifeblood and heart of the club, as soon as we stopped "beating" together the club started to die.
Swansea away to me was enough evidence to show we are not up to the fight anymore. We have had the souls ripped out of us and we have only ourselves to blame. The old Cardiff would have loved, everybody righting them off and being the underdog but that sadly has gone.
Will it ever return?
Thu Feb 13, 2014 11:16 pm
Feel exactly the same mate. I went to villa game.more out of duty too than enjoyment. The club I have followed for 25 years is litterally unrecognisable.
I.am not sure I want to attend anymore which is such a strange feeling after the devotion and emotions I have had for cardiff city football club.
Mr tan you really are a.pricck. all one.mans decision the whole.episode is ridiculous

Just like the QPR fan said would be the case before we kicked off, it's never fun when your not winning games and facing a relegation battle. Simple as that

It wasn't fun last season though. Yes it was great getting promoted and dominating the league, but it always felt hollow to me

Like it or not, you're one of the reasons for number 1 because you embraced the rebrand and defended it constantly.

Feel for you fella, can't be nice having your club taken from you and raped and killed by a bunch of idiots.

If you're gonna stop supporting cos of bickering on messageboards it's silly, f**k em. I've lost a bit of the love of supporting City but it'll never go for me. Maybe a name change would push me out the door but I love my team too much to walk away
Fri Feb 14, 2014 2:40 am
some really nice honest comments devoid of personal ego. There is hope I believe and one day the wounds will heal....It's my opinion that anyone who wears red is disgracing the club. I was thinking of not bothering with this forum and just troll the dullards for a laugh now n' then, but threads like this I enjoyed.
I've read silly justifications for wearing red such as citing civil liberties to have the freedom to wear what you want. May I remind them that this is Football. A culture that was never deemed as PC or part of the establishment.
Of course football has dealt with issues that needed to be cleaned up, such as racism which was never a huge issue at Cardiff. That said, I believe the culture has gone, fans now have no back-bone, courage or moral-fibre. They act as the state tells them they should (nanny-state, put your seat-belt on etc), as such with their indoctrinated belief that they should allow others to think for them, back Tan because they are told of a fanciful future laden with trophies.
I totally understand the posters who backed Tan and now have turned as love for anything clouds judgement.
Hats off to the posters on this thread, there is hope yet. Cardiff City never dies!!!

If so many feel like the club is dead and now thinking about giving up, i just dont understand why these people dont protest for the return of the club you know.
What is the worst that can happen? Surely you would rather support the blue bluebirds in league 2 starting again than just quitting?
I just cant fathom it. Tan has got a free ride, everyone just accepts it or walks away it seems, nobody willing to fight for the club.

good point, I am just an internet warrior that has done nothing in literal terms to try and get him out...I am aware of my hypocrisy whilst others aren't...The next time there is an organized protest I will be there

I am not interested in going to games
Fri Feb 14, 2014 5:26 am
Good lad. Cant fault you.
It seems everyone is happy to say how unhappy they are about the rebrand on here - but do absolutely nothing about it when and where it matters and would rather walk away without a fight.
Fri Feb 14, 2014 5:35 am
Week on week fans have a 90 minute platform and week on week refuse to use it and sit there and clap.
Im amazed how the one time it was used to put across feelings... it was for Malky Mackay?!
Protest for 90 mins during and 45 mins AFTER the game for a manager of 2 years who had you playing awful football. Yet when it comes to the club and its 100 year traditions you all would rather go without a whimper.
Completely bizarre.

Thanks Roathie, you ain't a bad lad after all the hyperbole, or in leyman's terms bollocks i've read on here
yeah I have felt more connection to the club lately as I am new to the forum, before I just tried to forget what happened I guess and just watched 11 blokes in red tops kicking a ball about on the internet

I think I probably seen Cardiff around 50 - 70 times at Ninian, and once at the CCS. A few away games thrown in too

Yeah dont listen to the rubbish on here. People just dont like others that say it how it is.
If all got together to fight Tan then you would win, no doubt in my mind what so ever. A business without customers and worldwide embarrassment of weekly protests is not worth having.
