" FIVE CUP FINALS TO SAVE OUR SEASON "

Sun Feb 09, 2014 4:02 pm

Our away form all season has been pretty bad, the solitary win at Fulham and three draws at Hull, Norwich and Stoke.

The games at home are where we have the best chance of picking up wins.

Seven home games remaining and five of them, starting on Tuesday, are against teams we must beat if we hope to have a second season in the Premier League.

Aston Villa, Hull, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Stoke.

It is not going to be easy and those sides will be looking to pick up at least a point in Cardiff but I honestly believe that if we do not win these five games then we are destined for relegation, however I am optimistic, don't ask why it's just my nature, I think we can win them with the players we have and Ole will select his strongest eleven at each of these games.

I don't know if Ole had one eye on Tuesday, not an excuse by myself but possible reason, for leaving Mutch and Noone on the bench.

Any result away from home is a bonus in this division but there are a couple of away games that we could possibly pick up an away point in, namely W.B.A and Sunderland but home results are key.

We can do it, we can save this season and by the end of this month the table could be looking a lot better from our perspective.

Keep the faith :ayatollah:

Carlos, I agree we need to win everyone of those games, nothing less, plus a few draws or we are down end of.

Three out of those 5 and a draw puts us on 30 points , get 1 away win and a few draws and we will stay up .

It's far from over yet , we had 4 games in feb we wanted 3 wins , we have 1 win from 2 .

We will be fine . :ayatollah: keep the faith

The only hope I am holding onto now, is that there are three worse teams than us, those being Fulham, Norwich and West Brom. That is all I'm relying on. It doesn't seem to matter what Fulham do, thus far, they are not geiing any better. I have never rated Chris Houghton and the Norwich board did not spend big, to address problems. WBA, have made the managerial change, but it's had no real effect on their form. I'm clutching at straws, because we could say the same about Cardiff, but we live in hope

I don't think we can make an excuse for him looking at Tuesday Carl as it was the same for all teams with two fixtures on Saturday and Tuesday.
Surely you start with your strongest team to get the job done and then make changes.
I will say it again as it was a derby you need a strong hard tackling midfield with players who press opponents on the ball. With that in mind we start with Kim , whitts and Zaha. Monk must have been over the moon when he saw the starting line up.
He must surely give Daehli a game now instead of whitts as we have nothing to lose now

The result on Saturday is leaving us in a perilous position. The others are starting to pull slightly away. We are already 2 wins worse off than those above and out of the next 5 home games I can see us only getting 7 points. I hope I'm wrong. A win against Villa and Wigan in the cup could give us some momentum when we play Hull. But if Ole starts to play around with the formation then we are f@cked. We need our strongest team at each game now inc the Cup.

I hope you're right Carl, I want to stay up so much. It's been heartbreak almost every week since the loss to Crystal Palace. Sadly Fulham are currently beating United, this requires us to win pretty much every home game to stay up. I'm nervous, but as you said Keep the Faith, still only 6 points from 19th to 10th...

I dont think winning those 5 will keep us up think we need 6 wins and a draw.

To think we have won 5 games all season and need to win Atleast 5 from 13 games is a very big ask

Aston Villa, Hull, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Stoke...we be lucky to get three points out of 15 in my opinion :(

We are down. Drop my season ticket to 350 and I'll renew 1 adult and 10 year old.

They are huge games. Cardiff have the easier games remaining out of those around us. I think we will take 10 or 11 points out of those 5 games. We can beat Fulham, Palace and Hull at home and get a draw against Villa and Stoke. I'd take a point from Tuesday and we will beat Hull. Our points total at the end of the season will be mid 30's. Just hope it's enough to keep us up.

Thing that's worrying me is that we don't look like a team. No unity, too many New faces that don't apply the ethos malky had that in my opinion would of kept us up. For this reason I can't see us staying up, as optimistic as I am and il be there singing my heart out no matter what happens but I think we're going down

Good point about feb games

Is there a bit of a pattern emerging? Every time we approach a 'winnable' game we get a bit carried away. Think of Newcastle, Sunderland, Southampton,WHU, and Swansea this week. Incredible as it may sound, are we over confident at times?

Why would we suddenly win 4 or 5 games ???
We've been shite all season....and since Malky went, we've been shite and leaking goals.
Its been a shocking season.

We've got no chance of survival with Jimmy krankie in charge of us

f*cking ridiculous decision to appoint him

I think we will win 2 and draw 1 out of the five games at best giving us 7 points, not enough I am afraid :old:

So many negative people support our club, we are in the premiership..
If we was in league 2 and got 5k fans all those fans would remain positive whatever the results fact

But you'll be wanking ole off if we win 5 from 5 then stay up

Typical , can't take losing a few game get over yourselfs :D

Negativity,,,or realism? When you look at our current form, & all the facts regarding our season so far, then that is the conclusion i have come to. That wont stop me supporting our team, however i wont be that naive to think we will win all of the said five games. That wont stop me believing though, & tomorrow night is a game WE must win.

Sorry again to be pessimistic but if our manager cannot put out his best X1 to beat an ordinary opposition then we are struggling.
Moreover and to repeat my views for some time now, City are all but down.

the negativity is killing this club we know the rebrand is the major reason for this (which i am against by the way ) but do we really need to keep harping on and on in times when the team need support we sound like a bunch of wimps moaning about absolute everything ffs Sunderland showed us how to do it the other week with an equally poor side they kept supporting and thats what got them back into the game we should take a leaf from there book we might well go down but as fans we could influence this or at least fukin try VT might be embarrassing and we are no better .
