The Franchise All Falling Apart Thankfully

Sun Feb 09, 2014 10:50 am

I have to be honest it's fantastic to see. I feel for those like Nukes hanging onto the old , but it's dead , and all the newbie , franchise mob are getting exactly what they deserve .... Karma works in funny ways !

But you dont believe that really do you Steve. Wishful thinks more like.

It might feel that way at the moment but you know how businesses work and that is exactly what Cardiff is turning out to be. A year back in the championship for Tan to lick his wounds, that is of course if we do go down, and learn from his mistakes could quite easily make the club come back a lot stronger. That's a daunting thought is it not?

If the club is £150m in debt now. Then imagine the losses it will bear if it is to be relegated. You must be on course for at least a £20m loss this year on top of that already.

Why would Tan foot the bill for what could be £50m for another gamble at the prem again? You will certainly not be guaranteed to come straight back up.

I think he genuinely thought once promoted and rebranded then after £50m of players you will be one of the big guns and the money will be rolling in. He knows nothing of football and has had a stark reality check. I think he has realised it is not possible and not viable.

Don't fool yourself mate. Because that's what your doing thinking like that.

More franchising to come. Your wished U turn will never happen and the float will see you franchised forever I'm afraid.

Tan ... He thought he could simply buy premiership football , he's now learning you can't .

The franchise needs premiership football , it's worthless when playing Leyton Orient .

When the franchise is relegated the best result for the real old loyal fan is a few years without a promotion !!

Well he isn't going to simply "walk" either.

He will want his cash back. There is no way a Championship club can be sold for £170m odd. He will have to rinse the club basically.

I've followed my beloved Cardiff City for over 40 years, i was born and bred in the Rhondda Valley and also lived in Cwmbran and Pontypool, i'm an engineer by trade, but now have my own business as a wall and floor tiler.Interests:cardiff city and music. (beatles and any 60's stuff)

You learn to need to count .... The Rhondda Valley is f*cking further than 15 miles from Sloper Road Cardiff.

f**k calling you in to have my floor tiled ..... Excess tiles would be in abundance ( that means too many left over )

There are 2 ways Tan will walk:

1. Someone comes in and buys him out.
2. The club deteriates and becomes a loss cause.

The first option you can think of quite a few scenarios. We end up in the championship and he sells us off on the cheap. He gets us established in the premier and makes his money that way. As he is meant to be this billionaire winner I can see him being around for quite a while to make sure that happens.

The second option will only happen if we drop a few divisions.

However you look at it Tan will be around for quite a while because each option is going to take some time. Of course we might just get lucky and someone comes in. Better the devil you know, careful what you wish for....not this time.

We lost £30m in our promotion season with about £12m spent on players plus all the bonuses. If we get relegated we will get £20m parachute payments and probably will only spend what we get for players like Medel who won't want to play in the Championship. So I expect if we get relegated we will actually break even for once and Tan won't have to put any more money in. Obviously if we didn't get promoted in the first two years then we would start making big losses again.

You will get £16m parachute payments on top of your usual £16m championship income. About £33 million in total maybe.

Your wage bill alone is now probably pushing £45 million. You have spent £55m according to Tan on players this year, that amount is amortised meaning you will pay that off in instalments, meaning you will still be paying this off next year.

You will need an income of £60m in my opinion to break even. Meaning you will have to sell £25m worth of players and not sign anyone... By not signing anyone of course you are depleting your chances of a return.

It is down to whether promotion is actually worth it for Tan. You lost £30m in your promotion season and are heading for another heavy loss this year - so what os the point if his aim is to make money?

He clearly had a warped idea of owning a football club and no doubt he is realising that quickly.

You quoted £150m debt in your post which I assumed was the £115m from last years accounts plus what you think we will lose this year due to transfer dealings. £45m wages, £55m transfers but at least £70m income.

So if you are spreading the transfer fees then it just means that the debt won't be £150m at the end of this season. Either way I don't expect the debt needs to be more than £150m after the end of two seasons in the championship given this years spending offset by tv money and parachute payments.

The only player on big wages that I expect to still be here if we get relegated is Caulker. Medel won't stay and I can't see Bellamy staying another year.

And the parachute payments are £20m, £20m, £10m, £10m because of the new tv deal. They used to be 16, 16, 8, 8.

I agree that he thought he would spend the money he has and have a premiership club but he knows nothing about football.

It's also proven you can't count , so no I have no intention of having a bet with a un loyal sell out c**t who can't count , a sell out who's even been in self proclaimed " position "

Hang your head in shame ..... YOU let your club down.

Where do i start with this pile of sh*t??? ok here goes, you saying i wont pay is a way for you to worm out of the bet, you made a stupid statement, i've challenged you to put up or shut up. (i'm still waiting) Anyone born in the Rhondda when i was, had to go to the East Glamorgan hospital in Llantrisant which will be 15 maybe 20 miles at most from cCardiff, as for failing my club and waving Malaysian flags etc who are you referring to???? certainly not me and of what concern is it of yours what goes on down the city, you don't support them, it's none of your business and again you try to be ITK about name change etc, it's your opinion and i'll repeat what i said earlier, you know f*ck all about what goes on at our club it's all guess work. You only come on this forum to stir the sh*t, you've a history of it try a hammers forum i'm sure they'll welcome your drivel with open arms, by the way, i'm getting abuse off you now, calling me the "c" word, it's a word i would never personally use, but lets be honest it would be quite appropriate for you it could almost be your middle name.

A.You,re right, i wouldn't pay because i wouldn't lose the bet.

C.If you don't give a f*ck why mouth off in the first place????? now i'll ask you again, are you prepared to back up the drivel you spewed out or not????

A. You wouldn't pay win or lose.

B. f**k me I've got a celeb fan crowing about his " positions ". Even more shame on you Paul allowing your club to be franchised.

C. Because its true .... And I'm not " mouthing " I'm typing. Typing facts you can't handle or take and makes you make a complete c**t of yourself.

Oh how boring .... Not you again, lets have a look at your latest drivel from Moat place.

I'm not worming , I simply don't want a bet with you.... Are you thicker than I thought ? No thanks is no thanks. You've challenged me ??? Lol lol what a warrior you are.

Secondly I don't really give a shit what hospital you popped out into the world in and don't need a history lesson on the Welsh Valleys thanks. Although the hospital is more than 15 miles from Sloper Road.

Bang on .... You've got something correct , I'm not ITK and don't care or give a shit about the internals of the Franchise. Where did I say any different dumbo ? What hurts you though is the majority of the time I've been correct ! Gets right under your skin that doesn't it !

I come on this forum as its advertised for all football fans and there are a few pals on here. I don't come often but I'm entitled to express my opinion as a member.

As for your last line .... There you go then if it makes you feel better.

Go and put your feel up in moat place towers and enjoy your Sunday and play with your abacus. You talk like a child learn to count like a child .... God help P E Ceramics.
