The registration of Juan Cala is expected to be completed tomorrow morning.

City have named 24 players in their 25 man squad and once the paperwork is finalised on the Cala deal then he will take the last vacant place in the 25 man squad.

Any idea if he will be thrown straight in Saturday? He's been playing games this season so I'm assuming he's fit to play?

Only my opinion but I don't think he will go straight into the starting line up for this Saturday :ayatollah:

I hope not - he might be fit, but I doubt he would be mentally ready for the intensity of this game. Turner and Caulker did a good job last time, so no reason to change it for me.

Hopefully he goes with Turner caulker they done a good job last time don't need risks in this game

Turner was shocking against Norwich and Dekal Keinan stepped in for his debut the last time we played the jacks away and we beat them 1-0 (seeing Keinan walking towards us punching both his fists in the air after the final whistle, bringing a huge roar from the City fans still gives me chills).

Cala's played for Sevilla 19 times this season and he has also played in Europe, so I imagine he would have played against the jacks already this season and will have more experience than Turner at handling Bony? Also, Swansea aren't a physical team, so I see no problem with Cala stepping in.

I would have concerns with Cala stepping in against a team like Stoke because they play the game the physical, British way. I would question a Spanish defender being able to handle the change of style and physicality, but I think Cala would be fine stepping straight in against Swansea with their continental style, possession football. Cala has seen all that before playing in Spain and he can't be a bad centre back to play 19 times for Sevilla this season surely? The way Turner and Hudson have both been performing lately, I don't see why Cala can't be thrown straight in to be honest.

Better off with Caulker and Turner, they understand each other despite poor performances on times with Turner we need to remember Cala shouldn't be thrown into a big game in the Prem, we have Wigan next week which I think will be a perfect time to introduce him and get some experience in the CCS. :ayatollah:

Turner was NOT shocking last time. he was a bit hesitant a couple of times on the ball, but nothing came of it. And his defending in the second half was excellent.

No turner was shocking. Any defender who lets the ball bounce when no one is near them is bad. And it happened a handful of times.

Turner let the ball bounce several times which nearly cost us and he only improved during the last 10 minutes. I have defended Turner several times this season but his performance last Saturday was not good enough. Usually, Turner is decisive and commanding with his defending, but he looked hesitant and indecisive against Norwich. I don't think Turner getting dropped has helped his confidence at all. I still rate him but I don't think he deserves his place after last Saturday's performance.

7291 i agree entirely turner was as bad as whitts mate he let the ball bounce most times and when he didnt he managed to slice it out for a corner hes too slow and the only ball hes got is that pathetic diagnal 60 yard punt that always comes straight back at us surely if u pay 1m for cala hes got to be technically much better

This. This is one of the fundamentals a defender is taught at about 10 years of age if not before. I couldn't believe it when Turner was letting it bounce then trying to attack it at the second attempt. I thought I was back on the parks for a moment.

Id like to say Cala cant be any worse but ill reserve judgement.

Just realised Swansea played Valencia this season, not Sevilla! I always get them mixed up as they play in the same colours and they've always been in similar league positions towards the top the past few seasons! Doh!

Fair enough, just I was going to see whether Cala had played but couldn't find anything. Now I know why!

Re: ' JUAN CALA LATEST '

and all those who saw the ball bounce before Turner hit it.....it was very windy and gusty on the pitch.

As someone else pointed out earlier in the week .....if he had attempted to head the ball first time and missed the strikers would have been away free on goal.

Oh ....did Norwich score off any off thiose occasions ?....or even have a shot ?....not sure they even got the ball.

Don't you think the conditions have Turner a hard time on the first half last week because he was much better second half.

Funny you're all blaming the conditions because I didn't see Caulker missing any headers in the first half. The wind must have only been severe when Turner was positioning himself to head the ball then.

Believe me it was windy at the family end of the ground (in the 2nd half). I can't comment on the first half as he was too far away. He looked uncomfortable on the ball in the first half, but seemed to get out of it ok.

Anyway, he is in our team so let's give him our support.

Turner was pretty decent against Norwich and even made the MOTD team of the week! Most clearances from any defender on the weekend.
Yes he let the ball bounce a few times, possibly due to the gusting wind, but his overall defending was better than Caulkers.
You can have a whinge at Ben for other performances but against Norwich he was our best defender

Motd is terrible i believe the sunday sport before that pile of shite they didnt even show their 2 offside goals i mean it dont get more exciting or debatable than that as for turner i counted at least half dozen times in the second half he let it bounce and in the first half he got done by a 45 yard pass that he let bounce and hooper 5ft 5ins turned him inside out becoz of it hes too cumbersome for my liking and ole obviously has little faith in him and huds to go pay a mill for cala

Re: ' JUAN CALA LATEST '

Hope Cala start on saturday, turner out. Citys defence have been shaky and nervous, and need a good and calm defender.
Cala has most probebly what cardiff miss to Get away from a occasionally panic defence.

btw, from what I can take from this translation:

Code:
"-That was too funny. When we left Sevilla told me that on Tuesday, could return home to pick up clothes and make the move. But the coach told me that if I wanted to try to play on Saturday (derby against Swansea) so would be impossible. I had brought only two changes! I had no boots. But then I said I had. I do not want to waste time. "

He will be up for the comming game.
