Cardiff City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is better than Malky Mackay, says owner Vincent Tan

Cardiff City get a glimmer of hope in the Premier League for the first time since the fallout between Vincent Tan and former manager Malky Mackay

Vincent Tan, the Cardiff City owner, opened old wounds as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer began repaying both his investment and faith.
Solskjaer’s first win as a Premier League manager came courtesy of new arrivals Wilfried Zaha, who created Craig Bellamy’s equaliser, and Kenwyne Jones.

It was enough to lift Cardiff off the foot of the table and offered the first glimmer of light in the Premier League since the tumultuous fallout between Tan and former manager Malky Mackay plunged the Welsh club into crisis.

“I am very happy with Solskjaer. He’s much better than Malky Mackay. It was a very excellent win,” Tan said after the 2-1 victory over Norwich.

The comments may be disingenuous to the man who guided Cardiff into the top flight for the first time in 51 years, but it was clear that a change was needed. The question now is whether or not it was made in time.

He's like a bloody kid. If he wasn't such a f*cking idiot Malky would have won us a few more points and we wouldn't be in the bottom 3

Wrong. We were in free fall under Malky.

Totally agree. If Malky was manager yesterday Tan wouldn't be satisfied with that performance as we got battered at the end but somehow won. But because Ole is manager, it was a "very excellent win". The man is clueless!

Cheers

Its obvious to see that both Tan and Malky dislike each other and are going to stick the boot in whenever they can.

We would have drew or lost if Malky was manager. Malky wouldnt have brought Zaha on who was key in us coming back. He'd have brought on Cowie after 60 minutes instead.

We wouldn't have conceded an early goal under Malky yesterday or at the beginning of the West Ham game. We played against only 2 teams at home who are in the bottom half of the table under Malky and we won both those games 1-0. They are facts and I have no doubt Malky would have got enough results at home in the second half of the season against teams in the bottom half around us.

Like we didn't concede goals vs Newcastle at home? You are delusional.

Newcastle are in the top half and that was the only home game we started poorly apart from the Southampton game which was 100% Tan's fault with his off the field destruction. Even after a poor first half against Newcastle, we sorted ourselves out in the second half and Newcastle were hanging on for dear life at the end. Malky always made us very difficult to beat at home. For you to have to go back as far as the Newcastle home game to think of a time we started badly at home under Malky says it all, so thanks for backing up my point.

Not really. We wouldn't have scored two either. The last time we did that was against Man City. Judging by past results we would have been lucky to score 1. The stats dont lie. We would have drawn or lost under Malky.

Like I said we only played 2 teams at home in the bottom half under Malky and we won them both a lot more convincingly than we beat Norwich yesterday. Malky had a 100% winning record against the bottom half teams at home, failing to concede a single goal. Basically, everything you need to survive in this division, getting results at home against the teams in the bottom half and keeping clean sheets, Malky was delivering. You stick to your assumptions and guess work, I will stick to my facts.

Hypocritical clueless f**k. Sooner he leaves the better for everyone

Agree, he could have left malky out of it and just prased ole and the team on a good win. Just hope he keeps on backing ole now and don't start meddling and criticising when things don't go to his liking

Cardiff coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: 'Wilfried Zaha could be the new Ronaldo'

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER was given the seal of approval by Vincent Tan after his first Premier League win as Cardiff boss.

The controversial owner was beaming after seeing Cardiff hit back after trailing to move off the bottom of the Premier League.

And the Malaysian billionaire could not resist a dig at former manager Malky Mackay, who Solskjaer replaced last month.

Tan sacked Mackay after sending the Scot an eight-page email detailing his frustrations with his alleged negative tactics and poor transfer dealings.

But the 62-year-old was glowing in his praise of Solskjaer after Cardiff’s first league win in eight games.

Asked for his opinion on his new manager, Tan said: “It was a very excellent win.

“I am very happy with Solskjaer, he’s much better than Malky Mackay!”

On-loan Manchester United striker Wilfried Zaha inspired Cardiff to the win after Solskjaer’s side made an awful start against Norwich.

Cardiff were behind after five minutes thanks to Robert Snodgrass’ early strike.

Solskjaer waited just 38 minutes to introduce Zaha off the bench and he lit up the contest with his pace and trickery.

He played a part in two goals in 73 seconds after half time from Craig Bellamy and another Cardiff new-boy, Kenwyne Jones.

Zaha’s lively display drew comparisons with a young Cristiano Ronaldo from former Old Trafford favourite Solskjaer.

Solskjaer said: “He is one of the best I have ever seen at taking people on.

My teenage son hung around after the game yesterday, to get some autographs and his picture taken with some of the players!

During this time, he also met Vincent Tan, whom my son said was very polite and friendly, but some media men were waiting at the stadium and my son phoned me to tell me that he had overheard VT say this to them!

Now he may well have said this as a joke, but I can't see any reason why he felt the need to make this comment, as he could have just bigged up Ole without resorting to insulting Malky, given what is going on in the background between them!

Tan is cleverer than half of our clueless fans mate. The only bad thing he's done is the rebrand but everything else he's been spot on with. The painter, well he was quite obvious a spy to keep an eye on Malky and obviously after the spending in the summer who could blame him.

Tan has been well within his rights to do what he's done other than rebrand us. Difference is, people want to have a go at Tan for everything but the rebrand and instead call him out on things he's right for and not the bad thing he has done. Clueless, gutless and shameful. Hardly surprising that fans booed Whitts really.

Back in the day Cardiff City fans used to fight properly man to man but if anything kicked off these days it wouldnt surprise me if the gutless just went for weapons straight away. The older generation need to give a few of our fans a clip around the ear.

Surely it makes more sense than him being a Director of Recruitment?

How much noggin does it take to watch Malky and phone or e-mail Vincent Tan to tell him what Malky was up to, he wouldn't have been expected to employ any James Bond type tactics surely? :D

Of course his job was to follow Malky around and report back on what he was doing. If anyone seriously thinks he was employed as actual director of football they're deluded. Funny how he also is gone around the same time Solskjaer is appointed. Thats because there was no need for him anymore. Tan didn't trust Malky so got that guy to keep tabs on him. That much is obvious.

I haven't thought too much about Asplimajdhdfov's role....I think it could well be the case that Tan wantede to know how Moody went about the transfer dealings and reported back to Tan.

Makes sense, why wouldn't he report everything he knew back to Tan? :ayatollah:

If Tan just came out with that then hes a divvy and should just shut up.

Does anyone know if he did or was he asked by journo who he preferred?
