Did you actually watch the game against Utd? Whitts was one of our best players on Tuesday and doesn't deserve to be dropped. I'm not sure why everyone's after his head because he's been doing really well this season. Perhaps its his laid back aura but if you actually watch him in the game he covers some very important turf. He might not go charging into tackles but that's not a bad thing because what he does do is play intelligently, I made a point of watching him against Utd and his positional sense is great, cuts out options for the player with the ball and he has a cool, calm head when he's on the ball.

He was one of our best players tuesday, had a great game given the circumstances, an overdue one admittedly but i cant see him not starting.

ofcourse, this is a cardiff forum so everyone likes to blame whitts and have him as a scapegoat for everything....

maybe sometiems it s the players standing 10 yards away from him wanting the ball and not making the right runs?

he cant ping it if there is nobody moving to be pinged to. we all know he can do it, but lets be honest i dont remember many instances where there is a chance and he doesnt see it, i just think the movement isnt there

So by that logic Whitts is solely responsible for our lack of attacking threat and not Bellamy who ran the ball back to the half way line every time he got it, McNaughton who (although I love him) offers very little at this level, Kimbo who was anonymous when he came on, Medel who seems too scared to experience what life outside our own half like etc..

I seem to remember, and correct me if I'm wrong, our best scoring opportunity (when DJ put in a cross along the floor to Campbell who over ran and Kimbo who didn't run) was set up by a superb pass by Whitts.

Wait til Polo gets a hold of you

Didn't Whitts have the highest pass completion of both teams?

not at all,but i think we need to be stronger and run from the midfield, something whittingham in particular lacks, doesnt want to get stuck in and cant run for shit with the ball

It depends what whitts turns up.
The shit house lazy whitts or the one that runs the show.

The shit house one has been turning up way too much lately.

whitts just isnt consistent he will either be our best player on pitch like tuesday or he will be non exsistent like a lot of games this season

He ran the show for us Tuesday night you blind c*nt.

Kept posession well working it into our overlapping full backs and to our wingers, its not his fault they were wasteful, in particular John and Bellamy.

Watch Xavi and Barcelona youve got to work some sideway passes to create some space. You cant play every single ball forward, its not a game of straight line.

There was one delightful ball 2nd half he played through to an overlapping John who pulled it back but Campbell slipped.

If anyone needs to be dropped it needs to be Gary if we are totally honest, but hey, hes the pitbull, cant drop him

I have been very critical of whitts since the end of last season, however I have to give him credit for his performance against UTD. I thought he was very composed and when we were going forward he was the catalyst of most of our good moves, so I think he should be given a few more games but he really needs to sort his defensive side of the game out.

Re: whitts has to be dropped for saturdays game

Whittingham should have been dropped long ago.

I've been criticised for defending Medel, Theophile, Cornelius, Gunnarsson etc So here we are, just like you do, WHITTINGHAM IS SHIT.

Moannnnnnnnnnnn about people defending Mackays signings yet you wouldn't drop Whittingham if he raped the ref during the game.

Drop him, he is not good enough.

I am sorry, but if you attended and watched the game and actually feel so strongly about Whitts’ performance that you feel the need to start a thread criticising him, may I suggest that you either:-

1. Watch the game again and pay attention,

2. Lie down in a dark room for a while,

3. Take a trip to Specsavers, or

4. Watch a different sport.

I am not saying that Whitts was our outstand performer, but he was far from the poorest. Did you actually see Bellamy, McNaughton and Hudson. It is so sad that it has become fashionable to criticise Whitts and a few others, no matter how they play. Some fans should remember they are football supporters not internet managers ....... simples.

Whitts was certainly one of our best players on Tuesday and there were a few good performances. He's not there to "be stronger and run from midfield" nor is he there "to get stuck in" or run with the ball. It's all about balance, simple.

Mutch is there to "run from midfield", Medel is there to get stuck in and Noone/Bellamy/Kim are there to run with the ball. His passing was excellent, his ball retention even better.

When will people begin to understand that in the Prem the only sure way of defending is to keep the ball because even Man City/Barca/Bayern can't score without it  :ayatollah:

Whitts is there to pass to the people that run from Midfield, as it happened, no one wanted to do any running from the midfield. As Polo said, Whitts isn't there to be a strong runner or a hard tackler, he does what he's there to do very well, watch his defensive positioning, it's usually excellent. He seems to be getting some confidence back playing under Ole and to drop him after him being the best player in a Cardiff shirt is a ridiculous suggestion, did you see his rocket shot from outside the box which unfortunately another city player got in front of? The Whitts of a few years back used to try stuff like that and we haven't seen anything similar from him since Malky started playing him so defensively. That shot, to me, was a sign that the old Whitts is coming back, the Whitts that used to run the show for us. So put your pitchfork down and support the city legend.

Unbelievable , whitts was our best player on Tuesday no doubt.
If anyone from the midfield is getting dropped it should be medel , he's been piss poor in the last few games in my opinion

whitts ran nothing you blind c**t.......sorry for having a different opinion, you need to do sideway passes, but you have to be able to run with the ball, when was the last time you saw that you blind c**t,he played 1 lovely ball you are right....1...not good enough, and medel,at least he want duck out ...
