I'm not sure why everyone's after his head because he's been doing really well this season. Perhaps its his laid back aura but if you actually watch him in the game he covers some very important turf. He might not go charging into tackles but that's not a bad thing because what he does do is play intelligently, I made a point of watching him against Utd and his positional sense is great, cuts out options for the player with the ball and he has a cool, calm head when he's on the ball.

He was one of our best players tuesday, had a great game given the circumstances, an overdue one admittedly but i cant see him not starting.
ofcourse, this is a cardiff forum so everyone likes to blame whitts and have him as a scapegoat for everything....

he needs to be pinging the ball to players, and more than the standard 10ft sideways pass..

So by that logic Whitts is solely responsible for our lack of attacking threat and not Bellamy who ran the ball back to the half way line every time he got it, McNaughton who (although I love him) offers very little at this level, Kimbo who was anonymous when he came on, Medel who seems too scared to experience what life outside our own half like etc..
I seem to remember, and correct me if I'm wrong, our best scoring opportunity (when DJ put in a cross along the floor to Campbell who over ran and Kimbo who didn't run) was set up by a superb pass by Whitts.

Kept posession well working it into our overlapping full backs and to our wingers, its not his fault they were wasteful, in particular John and Bellamy.
Watch Xavi and Barcelona youve got to work some sideway passes to create some space. You cant play every single ball forward, its not a game of straight line.
There was one delightful ball 2nd half he played through to an overlapping John who pulled it back but Campbell slipped.
If anyone needs to be dropped it needs to be Gary if we are totally honest, but hey, hes the pitbull, cant drop him

I've been criticised for defending Medel, Theophile, Cornelius, Gunnarsson etc So here we are, just like you do, WHITTINGHAM IS SHIT.
Moannnnnnnnnnnn about people defending Mackays signings yet you wouldn't drop Whittingham if he raped the ref during the game.
Drop him, he is not good enough.

not at all,but i think we need to be stronger and run from the midfield, something whittingham in particular lacks, doesnt want to get stuck in and cant run for shit with the ball

1. Watch the game again and pay attention,
2. Lie down in a dark room for a while,
3. Take a trip to Specsavers, or
4. Watch a different sport.
I am not saying that Whitts was our outstand performer, but he was far from the poorest. Did you actually see Bellamy, McNaughton and Hudson. It is so sad that it has become fashionable to criticise Whitts and a few others, no matter how they play. Some fans should remember they are football supporters not internet managers ....... simples.
