Just on SSN:-
"FC Copenhagen have confirmed the club are close to agreeing a deal to re-sign striker Andreas Cornelius from Cardiff City. Cornelius has yet to score in 11 appearances for Cardiff, and has not started a Premier League game either, since joining from Copenhagen in a £7.5million deal last summer.
Cardiff City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is trying to clear out some of the City players he no longer feels he needs. It is believed that Joe Mason and Andreas Cornelius are set to be sold.
Cornelius for £3million back to Copenhagen and at the same time, City are prepared to pay him off 70% of his contract. Copenhagen meanwhile are set to double Cornelius's wages that he was on before he joined City.
As to Joe Mason City are prepared to let if him go if the right offer comes in.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also hoping that by transfer deadline the total of new players brought in by him could reach up to 8.

Three million? May aswell keep him if we are going to lose 5 million plus his wages paid up

has he not settled? Or is he absolute wank? Can't see the point in losing that much on him unless he wants to go.
Wed Jan 29, 2014 1:14 pm
i would loan Cornelius out 1st! see how he does, as we will be loosing £5m on him and a large wage pay off!
good to see he wants another 2 players after Zaha and Fabio! probably a striker and centre back!

The only people you can blame for this farce are Mackay and Moore..........thank god they are both gone, only wish it could have happened sooner

I'd bite your hand off if someone is paying £3m for Corny - utter gash I'm afraid.
Happy to be proved wrong mind, but my vote would be to cash in now.

Why would we blame a 23 year old keeper of ours?

It is an extremely strange deal to sign him on such money. If we can get any money at all for him and off the wage bill then great news. WIthout doubt the worst signing in our clubs history.
Shame to see Mason go but I dont think he will cut it at this level, a sell on clause should be added tho.

That cornelius deal makes no sense . Why would they do that ? Rubbish if you ask me
It would make more sense to loan him out having someone pay 40/50% of his wage and see if he develops then seen him otherwise we are just taking a huge 13/14 mill loss
He has also said in two interviews that once zaha is in his deals are concluded

It's only a few months ago prior to taking over, Ole was bragging Cornelius up

We might be losing 5 mil on Cornelius but in the long run its better for us

If this is true about cornelius then no wonder tan was spitting feathers with moody and malky and that's why they were both sacked, for all tans faults no one can blame him on this occasion surely.

People say loan him out but he's not good enough for the Championship either. Thats the truth. He's crap compared to McCormack, Deeney and I'd even have Rhodes before him. He's just not good enough.
So we get £3m from Copenhagen.
Then we pay 70% of his wages at 45k per week x 5 years is crazy = £8,190,000
So we lost another £8m there on his payoff alone. Thats £13m lost in total.
A £13m loss is better than the £22m+ he was going to cost us by staying. Thats the truth. He's absolutely crap. I said he'd never come good for us and he won't because he's crap. Its so obvious to see.
Malky and Moody are to be blamed for that. They were entrusted with buying the right players and Tan backed them and believed in their football knowledge. Moody since going to Palace has been getting stick for his dealings. He's been there for almost no time at all.
We should have signed Troy Deeney or Jordan Rhodes.
Thank God they've finally realised who crap he is. I'd rather McCormack, Jerome, Chopra or Bothroyd back than him.

I see where you're coming from with cornelius but the problem would be his wages, based on performances so far for us what club would pay any more than £5k a week wages for him??? that would still leave us paying him £40k a week to play for someone else. (if the reports are true on is wages)

This story has been going for a couple of days, i wouldn't be surprised if this deal happened, put it this way, if come the summer Cornelius has still not made an impact (which is likely to be the case) then we wouldn't be able to off load him to newport county never mind sell him.

You would hope that with a deal like this that Cardiff would request a 20-30% minimum sell on clause on the off chance that he ever does come good and moves onto somewhere else

Taylor, Conway, Cowie and Mason will be ones to leave before the window shuts IMO. Maybe a loan move for Moore

The only thing worse than a bad deal is an even worse deal. Selling him is a bad deal, keeping him is a worse deal - SELL SELL SELL.
One of the weirdest signings I ever heard of, he was a clumsy, boring striker in the Danish league and somehow got to a Premier League club after one decent season.
