Quite right, he has no official role at the club, tan gets in touch with dj if he wants advice / another opinion on football matters, very similar as when tan speaks to hammam, it's been going on for some time i thought it was common knowledge.

"Common Knowledge" it is about DJ,since he parted with Sheff Weds - "handshake" when MM was still here -
I'm confused is he back or just on the other end of a phone - guiding our owner

Dalman had came in the season the re-brand was put in place, Dalman seems like someone who would sit down with fans and understand our position. It seems Tan is being forgiving, we have seen the blue away shirt more times than we have expected.

The former Cardiff boss is offering the Malaysian advice on how to run the Premier League club, despite being sacked by him in 2011
Dave Jones has made a dramatic return to Cardiff - nearly three years after being sacked by the club.
Mirror Sport can reveal that former Cardiff boss Jones has become close to owner Vincent Tan and has been offering advice on running the club.
It was Tan who actually sacked Jones in May 2011 but it is now claimed that he was in favour of keeping him and the rest of the board decided to axe him.
Jones endorsed current boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the man to succeed Malky Mackay and his friendship with Tan has helped him make decisions on the running of the club.
Jones, 57, had six years at Cardiff but could not get them into the Premier League and when he left fans had mixed views about his tenure.
So it is a surprise to see Jones back and involved even if it is in an informal capacity.
Jones has also been to stay with Tan and they have developed a strong friendship and working relationship.

He also brought entertaining players like Bothroyd here and was the first to bring Bellamy here back on loan. Bellamy was much better under Jones than under Malky too because he was allowed to play expansive football. I am a firm believer that if Jones was backed in the summer like Malky was we wouldn't even be in this mess.
Jones' main negative was he wasn't the most charismatic of people and therefore a good amount of fans didn't take to him. He wasn't a media man and he just said it how he felt straight up and honest and if you didn't like it then so be it. People often slate DJ but he did great here during times he had to offload and sell because of the clubs finances. He helped stabilise us in tough times and I will respect him for this always. Some of the players he bought were essential in us going up and were definitely some of the star performers. That is a fact no one can deny.

the issue the players had with Jones last time James is that he would spend most of his week on the golf course whilst burton and bellamy took training.
any ideas that burton or bellamy came up with during the week were soundly dismissed by jones on a friday.
remember the dismal performance against middlesboro which ultimately cost us promotion well he had six days to prepare the team and the players had 4 of those days off one of which was the infamous alleged night on the piss before the game story.
to be honest they would look quite funny stood together on the touchline with joneses trousers 8 inches below his waist and tan with his 8 inches above his waist
