I like that everyone is just ignoring the fact that mason has had a poor half as well.

I'm not ignoring the fact, all I said was Cornelius was shit and they brought him off after 45 mins, didn't bring mason off at half time so I didn't mention it

if Joe had cost 8mil and on 45k a week, he would be having the attention ...........
or in fact if Acorn had cost peanuts...he wouldnt b getting it.

if Andreas is worth 45k..........on todays performance how much should Joe be on?..........i thought as bad as each other

Thought Joe did alright I'd like to see him get on the bench for Norwich

Re: Cornelius lasted 45 mins

Has anyone seen a game where he has done anything at all of any quality?

If he was a youngster from the academy and we didn't pay 8m and 45k a week I'd bet he would be released.

People say he hasn't played many minutes..... A reason for that, a big reason. Been fit for months now.

unfortunately ...your correct....its not we the fans are not giving him the chance..its the managers.....if they are not playing some1,its because they dont think that player is good enough.....8mill or 8 pence,if your good enough your playing.

Some people on here fail to differentiate between being fit and being match fit. Cornelius is not match fit and needs starts. Only then can anybody know if he is a dud.

I didn't watch the game today, but I was toldthat Cornelius has a massive leap and looks potentially unplayable in arial battles.

Oh come on.
How long does it take to get match fit? A lot of players come back from far worse injuries and get back to playing soon soon enough.
Match sharpness won't help him with the very basics.

Exactly u didnt watch the game, so u can't comment on it
My mate told me a horse would win today, doesn't mean it's true.

I watched the game and he was terrible in the air.
I've defended him untill today but how long can we keep defending him for. He got taken off for a reason, coz he was shite. And another great decision by ole because his replacement came on and scored with virtually his first touch

was good in the second half too, well he was equally effective.

Re: Cornelius lasted 45 mins

I said he was crap in the beginning. Its obvious when a player isn't up to it or just doesn't have it. Most of us today knew that Daehli was within moments and he had that something. We didn't need weeks and weeks to assess him. It was plain to see that theres some true talent there. Cornelius has nothing and thats a fact. The good thing is Daehli may well go on to be worth around £20m + as the lad is talented weighing out the loss on Cornelius to some degree.

Also, why would Solskjaer want Jones if Cornelius is up to the job? He clearly does not think he's up to the job hence bringing in the same type of striker albeit more experienced and capable at this level. That alone speaks volumes on the assessment on Cornelius. If he was good enough, why sign Jones? Why not tell Stoke we want cash for Odemwingie? Cornelius will go in the summer in my opinion for around £2-4m and we'll cut our losses on him. I have faith that with these little bargain signings Ole is pulling off we'll recoup the money regardless if we stay up. If not then the value of every asset plummets as is often the case unless we hold out like Palace did for Zaha.

I'm not claiming to have watched the game, I'm passing on the view of a Cardiff fan who did :thumbright:

I do know for a fact, somebody isn't match fit after one start in the first team. If you have defended him all along, why are you turning on him after, what you view as a poor 45 minutes? fickle? that's almost schziophrenic.

If only football and subsequently human beings all developed in a neat and tidy fashion inline with 20 millon rated Daelhi.

I know of loads of professional players who took ages seeking out the elusive match fitness,(Andy Cole, Gary Linekar, Robbie Fowler etc etc), conversely there are players needing little time at all. Mark Hughes was reputedly the worst player training within a squad of 30 plus professionals on a consistent basis at ManUtd yet excelled in a match situation. We can all say Cornelius looks shit, that he doesn't move well, his timming is out, but look at football oddities like Peter Beardsley, Peter Crouch, Andy Cole. Three exampls of players who look weird or move without grace, yet somehow they all have an effect on big matches at the highest level. The only way anybody including OGS will know if Cornelius has got IT. Play himin a run of matches without fans fulfilling their own and Cornelius's prophecy of doom by mocking his every imperfction. I still believ he has the rawmaterials to cause sides problems at this level.

I watched the entire game and thought that Cornelius actually did alright for his 45 minutes. He held the ball up well and brought others into play. Even when he doesn't win a header, he throws off the defender marking him enough to disrupt them and potentially allow another teammate to win the ball. He's certainly not quick, but I think he can do a job as a target man. Everybody is on his ass about his transfer fee and wages but as others have said, that's not his fault. He certainly outplayed Mason today and I was hoping to see him play with Campbell but that didn't happen. He'll come good. Will he ever justify the transfer fee? Who knows, but if given the time and chance, I think he'll become a good player for us.

I agree.
I believe Cornelius will become an important player for the Bluebirds. He showed some strenghts and progression yesterday,ok pace and technique for a big guy,he moved around and tried making himself available for his team-mates.Campbell was almost invisible in second half in comparison,in my view.I like Campbell a lot,he will become a top striker soon, but I think Cornelius also is close to finding back to his strenght and can become just as important for Cardiff as Cambpell is now. They are different as strikers, and it is very good for a team to have players with different strenghts.
Cornelius still needs some more games and get back some more confidence, but it will come.
I predict Cornelius coming in as supersub after 75 minutes against Man United, crushing Vidic in a header or two and scoring at least one goal  :happy1:

Re: Cornelius lasted 45 mins

Sing this to the tune of "That's Amore"

IF THE BALL HITS YOUR HEAD
WHEN YOUR SAT IN ROW Z
THAT''S CORNELIUS

People on this forum talking about" when he's match fit he will come good" are sadly deluded. What are you expecting to happen exactly - that he will suddenly be able to kick the ball, and jump and head the ball at the same time.

He doesn't seem to have any understanding of the game whatsoever, when he has the ball he looks clumsy, and when he doesn't he shadows opposing defenders rather than running into space.

To say Campbell was invisible second half is a crazed statement. He scored the goal and his running in the
channels and working of defenders made space for other players. Very good player. Cornelius hit what we
call the iceberg. Found his level cannot cope with tightly marked and lacks awareness. Mackay made a big
mistake.
