very bold move if they go ahead, but they are sort of between a rock and a hard place, can they continue and progress with the smallest prem ground year in year out,or expand the stadium in a small catchment area.

There is either 6,000 or 8,000 on the waiting list. It was said by Huw last week.

I think its 8,000.

I do wonder where these 8,000 are when they do get a chance to watch the Swans play... Plenty of Europa league games to go and see & not one sold out at home. Where were they then? :?

They may well be there.

Cup competitions aren't everyones cup of tea, including season ticket holders.

Good for Wales having 2 33K stadiums.

One will be a reality, the other has planning permission. Who pays for the building work ? I can't see the council forking out, and it seems a bit strange paying for the extra work if you don't own the stadium.

i think it's happening in three phases so dependent on progression and ticket sales they will undertake further phases as, when and if necessary.

First phase to 24,500 (2014/15), next phase to 28,500 (2015/16) and final phase to 33,000 (2016/17).

Always have been sensible with expenditure and expansion. Well just throw up 33,000 seats and hope. :)

Not really bet their 1st expansion costs nearly as much as ours does in total! We planned the expansion when building stadium they didn't, :o

Re: jacks get permission to expand liberty

We are only putting an extra 5k seats in. Selling 28k every week as it is, will easily sell an extra 4000 season tickets if we stay up, so it's a good move for us. If we go down, then well the stadium is ready for when we go back up .

As for waiting lists there are 10k on ours, but how many of them will actually buy who knows. Swansea have 8k on theirs, but this is a list which has been built over 3 years, so probably an even smaller % would actually buy there, people's circumstances change, but would anyone bother ringing up the club to say 'take me off the waiting list'.

For both of us staying up will be critical to filling up what we've got never mind an expansion.

Would be surprised to see anything happen there until summer 2015 at the earliest. Not really a lot of time to get the procurement process, fabrication and construction done before July 2014 now.

8000 waiting  yeah rightio....after they got promoted maybe but I think the novelty has worn off as tickets are relatively easy to get if you are keen. Do they have have to buy the ground first? Or will they just own the extension  which seems a bit odd....

8k on their waiting list, but who will actually pay up when it comes to it, 3k at most IMO, their catchment area is so small can't see them ever filling a 28k stadium week in week out, let alone a 33k stadium

No way is their 8k on the waiting list, they haven't sold out for a number of games this season.

8000 is what the club told the city council on the planning application, why would the lie.

..... To get planning permission? f*cking hell your naive.

They have to prove that the extension is needed.

Oooh! I loves a good conspiracy I do!

Just one thing. Why would they want to prove the extension is needed when it is not? :?

6k on the waiting list.
And by the way our catchment area is the same area as yours as plenty of fans travel down from the valleys and gwent.
Add to that west wales then u will see we will be just fine.
Allso at the moment there is no offers on and all tickets are 35 to 40 quid, if we have a 40 k pkus stadium we can offer kids and schools tickets.
But we have done things the right way, our support as clearly grown as did yours when you had your cup runs and play offs, lets nit forget only a few years back in the champ u was getting 13k but uour fan base grew thanks to cup runs and playing champ football.
We only had 2 seasons in the champ anf untill last season no cup runs.
I think we could have 26 k av and full house against the bigger sides.

If there are six thousand waiting for Swansea tickets, why are there always empty seats at cup games and you aren't selling out some games right now?

Re: jacks get permission to expand liberty

It's been quoted several times that there are 10k on the waiting list.
Just like you I doubt all would buy season tickets given the chance.

We have had 1 game not sell out for home fans (and even then the home section was full - it was just extra tickets form the away end not sold). You have also not sold out all your home games (Hull andStoke for a start 1500 below capacity) - doesn't mean you don't have a waiting list.

I beleive the 8k is true for you- as posted above though this had built up over 3 years and many on there won't be interested any more due to changes in circumstance - also as tickets become easier to get for individual fixtures demand for season tickets will fall.

I'm sure if you stay up you'll easily sell the first extension for most games - same as we will easily sell the extra 4k season tickets and 1000 match day tickets for our ground next year if we stay up.

Finally...
I don't think you are in any position to call anyone a liar considering the bollox you come out with.

Like 'We took 2000 to man U 2 weeks running'.... and it turned out to be 800

The final sentence I agree with - now there is a first

Most of the rest is so much bollox it's not even worth commenting on

Every home game is a sell out in the league barry.
The only empty seats are them nit taken up by away support.
Yes some games have seats spare were season ticket holders aint turned up but it realy is few and far between unlike the hundreds u have.
As for the rest iv put up, why is it bollocks?
Were u not getting 13k before your cup runs and play offs?
And was we not getting 15 k in our 2 season's in the champ?
It takes time to build a fan base after the shit we went through.
