Not so much out and about, but when I was living just outside Swindon, Leigh Barnard used to be on the same train back from night games. Chatted to him a few times, a really nice fella.

What is it with escalators and football players?? Saw Nooney in St Davids on one last season but best of all saw Allesandro Del Piero on the escalator in Debenams in Cardiff!! Whole Italian squad were walking around St David's 1 in the 90s (all tracksuited up and with a hefty security presence) when they played Wales (at Anfield I think). Del Piero was in front of me on said escalator and he was a massive hero of mine (through watching Gazzeta Football Italia). Said hello and wanted to ask him to swap his tracksuit top for my dodgy,hanging timberland jacket (wife told me not to be so bloody stupid). He wouldn't have understood me anyway! best of all though was Del Piero and another player were playing on the "my first scalextric" set they had set up in the toy department. Couldn't believe it....oh for a camera phone back then!

Mark Hudson was on the same flight home as us for my mates wedding in Ibiza summer just passed. Really nice guy, happy to have a chat and I must so was his wife.

If any of you have been there you'll know it's not the classiest of establishments and they serve beer by the can instead of by draught.

I had a photo with him and when I went to pass my can to a friend he said 'no chance, we have to have the cans in the photo!'.
