In my opinion he was the sole reason Palace got promoted last season. His form dipped towards the end of the season but he dug deep to tear Brighton apart in the play offs. He's rapid, tricky and knows where the net is. He may have struggled to break into Man Utd team but we are not Man United. I'd have him in my team every day of the week before Ashley young.
We have been absolutely crying out for someone like Zaha for 3 seasons yet some of you are still not happy!

The stats arnt awe inspiring and considering that we arnt scoring enough goals as it is - this doesnt look like the type of player we need.
Having said that he is obviously skillful and provides a few assists - being young he is only going to get better so hopfully he proves an asset to the team - personally a decent signing from OGS and I hope he does well for us

They are good stats for a winger.
What do you expect? 20 goals, and 20 assists a season?

Not to mention if he takes two players on, opens up the space, plays it to someonelse who plays it through to another player that doesnt count as an assist so your stats dont account for that.
I will go with my eyes thanks rather than restricted stats as football is played on grass not a computer screen.
He is skillfull and pacey, with an eye for goal. Something we are seriously lacking as a squad.

I think this assists stats thing is a load of bollocks. I mean a winger could beat the defender and put 20 decent crosses over
during a game, but will only be given credit for the one time the striker hasn't fluffed the chance or the defending team haven't cleared the danger, leading to a goal. How often do we see Nooney race down the wing and put the ball over only for Campbell and co. to mess the chance up. We still though, rave about Nooney afterwards.
There's also the element in Zaha's game in which he likes to take the ball into the box and use his quick feet to win penalties. Something our current player's don't seem to do.

If Zaha was 7/10 in the championship then nobody in our front 6 was worth more than 5/10 last season

I blame the Football Manager game mate. A number of times when we get linked with a player, Ive seen the nerds on here form their opinion on how well a player does on a computer game ffs.

Probably not, especially with Malky in charge focussing on defending more than attacking.
If you rate Zaha that's fine he was a flashy player playing in a league that essentially kicked players like him and I'm more than willing to be proven wrong.
But from what I've seen he seemed selfish, a few little tricks and petulant. But yeah he does have ability.
