Manchester United star Wilfried Zaha undergoes medical ahead of move to Cardiff City
Tuesday 22nd Jan 2014.

The Manchester United player is undergoing a medical today ahead of a move to the Bluebirds for the rest of the season

"Cardiff City are on the brink of landing Wilfried Zaha, we can reveal.

The £10million Manchester United man is today undergoing a medical ahead of a move to the Welsh capital on loan for the rest of the season.

The Bluebirds' hopes of capturing their man were boosted after Old Trafford boss David Moyes relented and gave the go-ahead for Zaha to talk to Cardiff.

The mercurial winger, whose brilliance fired Crystal Palace into the Premier League and netted him his move to the reigning champions, was spotted entering hospital to take his medical.

There are still minor issues between the two clubs to be ironed out, but Cardiff are hoping they will be able to formally announce the marquee January signing within days.

Ironically, Cardiff's next match is away to Manchester United. It is unlikely Moyes will permit Zaha to play in that fixture, but he would be available for the February 1 League clash with Norwich and the games after that.

Moyes rejected a Crystal Palace bid to take Zaha back on loan and was initially reluctant to let the 21-year-old leave for Cardiff while Ashley Young and Nani were injured.

But Young has returned to action, enabling Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to press ahead with his plans to bring in Zaha.

He would be the third Cardiff capture in this month's transfer window, Solskjaer having already netted Norwegians Magnus Wolff Eikrem and Mats Moller Daehli.

Solskjaer is hoping Zaha's creative brilliance can help get his Bluebirds off the bottom of the table and flying again in the Premier League."

i wont be to bothered if he comes or not! think he's very over rated! but we do need some more pace and attacking strength, so lets hope he proves me wrong

They copied it from WalesOnline.

WalesOnline copied it from the Mail Online.

The Mail is a crap paper - but has called it right most times in the past year on Cardiff City. Maybe their source hasn't left the club, or maybe they're just making it up like all the rest?

So his toes having a medical. Ah well.

Wouldn't it make more sense to get his medical in Cardiff rather than in Manchester? :?

Crazy, he was one of the best players in the champ last year, and has the same qualities -unpredictable, quick, tricks- as noone who has brought something else to the team, something we've been lacking all season. Great signing if it comes off

Checking in: Wilfried Zaha was pictured arriving at Bridgewater Hospital in Manchester on Wednesday

So, is Zaha having a medical.

United outcast arrives at hospital with Cardiff closing in on loan deal for winger

Wilfried Zaha has been pictured arriving at hospital as Cardiff City renewed hope of completing a loan move for the Manchester United outcast this week.
Sources close to the deal have told Sportsmail that a move might even be done as soon as Thursday, with David Moyes fast losing patience with the winger, who was believed to be arriving at Bridgewater Hospital in Manchester for a medical on Wednesday.
The United manager was initially reluctant to let the 21-year-old leave while Ashley Young and Nani were injured, but Young’s return and Moyes’s continued issues with Zaha’s behaviour have accelerated the process.

Out in the cold: Zaha has barely featured for United this season and has spent a lot of time on the bench

Moyes was extremely unhappy that Zaha was 45 minutes late meeting up with the Under 21 squad on Monday for a reserve fixture against Middlesbrough in Salford.
The United manager decided that Zaha should be put on the bench, further increasing tensions with the former Crystal Palace star, who had earlier shown his annoyance at being left out of the squad for Sunday’s game at Chelsea.
Sportsmail first revealed Cardiff’s interest in Zaha and November and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has pushed hard to land him in this window.

Going downhill: Zaha's relationship with David Moyes took another turn for the worse this week

Game time: Zaha eventually got on to the pitch for the Under 21s against Middlesbrough on Monday night

Facing up to reality: Zaha's dream mover to Manchester United in the summer is turning into a nightmare
United’s early reluctance has subsided now and a move is close for the £15million winger, who would become Solskjaer’s third signing of the window.
Under the terms of the loan, it is highly unlikely that Zaha would be allowed to play for Cardiff against United in the Premier League next Tuesday.

Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha has undergone a medical at Manchester's Bridgewater Hospital ahead of a proposed loan move to Cardiff City.

The 21-year-old England international has made just four appearances for the Red Devils this season, and has had a falling out with manager David Moyes.

The United boss was reluctant to let Zaha go on loan while Ashley Young and Nani were injured, but with Young's return and the reported signing of Juan Mata nearing, Moyes has decided to let the winger leave.

Zaha was pictured arriving at the Bridgewater Hospital on Wednesday for a medical, and will join former Red Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Cardiff.

You'd be surprised how many medicals go ahead somewhere different other than the club facility who the player is joining. Didn't Mezut Ozil have his medical in Germany before he joined Arsenal?

Agreed I just don't get why every one is banging on about a player who was just above average in the championship.
United spent way to much money on him.
Has played next to no time in the premiership hence why he hasn't featured much for United.

He could be a massive flop.

I honestly cannot believe that people are underwhelmed by us signing Zaha!

How can you say he was average in the championship? I would argue that he was the sole reason why palace were promoted last season.

Against Brighton in the semi final of the play offs, who let's not forget everyone was wanking over on this forum, he tore them a new arse.

He's rapid, tricky and chips in with goals. These are things our team has been crying out for all season!
Sometimes I think there is no pleasing our fans.
