Wage bill

Wed Jan 22, 2014 1:12 pm

Anyone know what we spend on wages?

Re: Wage bill

Wed Jan 22, 2014 1:16 pm

Must be in the region of £350 grand a week

Re: Wage bill

Wed Jan 22, 2014 1:27 pm

Im not sure but I do think Malky failed to move enough players out, some did go out on loan but not quick enough and we still have to pay them over the summer etc

Brayford
Etien
Smith
Mason
Connolly
Conway
Lappin
Cowie

I would think thats around 100k+ a week just wasted

Add to that Cornelius on 45k a week and not doubt Odemwingy on a good wage, ive come to the conclusion that we are wasting a lot of money on wages on players who are not up to standard.

 you reckon your wage bill is £16.8m per annum?!

Triple it and you will be closer to the mark

If its less than £40m p/a, ill be majorly shocked.

Doesnt matter who I support. Talking sense transcends football club preferences

I see RoathTragic is rubbishing someone's guess with another guess... I'd ignore him, his maths is extremely poor, as was proven in the thread the other day. He's a fantasist.

Considering your wage bill was £17m in the championship I think rubbishing it is pretty fair dont you? Or does your obsession with anything Roathie cloud even the most obvious sensible comment Martyn?

Never heard a team get promoted and wage bill go down before :laughing6:

We are one of the lowest payers in the Premier League and our wage bill I believe is around the £33m - £35m mark.

Financial advice? Trigger couldn't even get a few simple percentages right the other day. I'd rather have Ridsdale's advice.

Do you mean £5m?

Where have I said I agree with either of you? All I did was point out that you were rubbishing someone's guesses with your own guesses.

Apology accepted Trigger.

So you dont have an opinion then? How apt

Rubbishing someones clearly incorrect guess and applying my own logical one is fair practice Martyn.

These are the wage bills from 2011/12 -

http://www.financialfairplay.co.uk/late ... aled-table

The lowest was Reading and Swansea on £34m p/a.

This was before the rise in TV money which will naturally increase wages.

I said if you triple it you will be CLOSER didnt I? Then followed it up with a figure of £40m.

Again, you make an assumption. Where did I say I didn't have an opinion? Your third assumption in this thread and they've all been wrong Trigger. Funny though, that you use old data to make Swansea look like the lowest payers. Why on earth would stats from 2 years ago be relevant now?

Basic errors from RoathTragic.

Your wage bill is probably a lot more than ours you have been a premiership team longer ,most of your players would of signed improved deals also the players you have brought in can't be cheap

:laughing6: so you are on your 4th or 5th post on this thread and still haven't displayed your opinion and just decided to talk about me?

I gave you the benefit of the doubt you had snapped out of your obsessive behaviour and actually decided to join a thread to share our opinion on it? :laughing6:

It has nothing to do with the lowest payers being swansea Columbo Martyn. The data shows the lowest payers were at a figure of £34m p/a. Wages have since gone up due to the extra income.... Which provides weight to my theory that if 2 years ago the lowest wage was £34m p/a and they were both from notorious low payers in Swansea and Reading - then the chances of my £40m is probably accurate where as the £16.8m guess is clearly useless.

Pretty simple stuff Mart wouldn't you agree? Or are you incapable of seeing sense if it is your obsessive subject that states it? :laughing6:

Maybe not, maybe so. We were paying way less than you in the championship and have a strict wage structure as a % of turnover... According to many you were paying bellamy 30k a week which of course would be our top earner in the Premier league. You were paying over 100% of turnover on wages in the championship which suggests your wage structure is non existent - plus the contract details of Cornelius et al which are on far more than anyone at swansea would be.

However we arent discussing Swansea, I just used us as a reference point. The question was what is YOUR wage bill.

And I made a pretty fairly standard estimation that it would probably be at least £40m p/a.

Once again Castro you are most definitely, wholly, totally (that is 100%) not largely incorrect.
I am Martyn, Townhill Magic is not! More evidence of your lack of credibility.

Re: Wage bill

Wed Jan 22, 2014 2:13 pm

i would be shocked if swanseas wages were higher than ours. Can only see Michu matches the 45k a week we are paying to Cornelius.

We will be paying close to that for one or two others as well.

I dont seek credibility. Sharing sensible views will do me which i do in abundance.

Do you have anything of note to add to the subject or are you just interested in increasing your 98% of total posts dedicated to Roathie stat?

Talk some on topic non roathie sense for once.. I dare you :laughing6:

I'm not saying your wrong Castro but your figure of £800 grand a week seems a bit high.
Maybe my figure of 350 was a bit low but i would've thought it would be no higher than 500 grand a week.

Like i said. Reading and Swansea had wage bills of £34m a year 2 years ago. Both notorious low payers and at a time prior to the increase in income from SKY. This was before the likes of Michu and I believe our highest paid player was £25k a week in Scott Sinclair. You pay Cornelius alone 50%+ more than that.
