I couldn't agree more, people who say they would rather be a football fan now as opposed to 20 years ago are lying or didn't attend 15 years matches ago.

Sadly, the PL and clubs in this country are way too greedy to even consider what they have done in Germany, Ian.

Would certainly make it a more level playing field but the top clubs would find a way around it, same as their doing now with the financial fair play rules.

Agree in principle but it would never work. There would always be a way around it.

The same way as capping investment from chairmen, so they disguise it as sponsorship. There would be extra payments going on everywhere disguised as endorsements etc.

If it were to happen it would have to be a world wide cap which covered not just wages but every income stream related to the game to avoid "cheat payments".. but in reality thats just too hard to do.
