' BOLTON W V CARDIFF CITY '

' CARDIFF CITY ' :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer saw his new Cardiff side win impressively at Newcastle United in round three, but since then they have dropped to the foot of the Premier League after two defeats, most significantly the loss to fellow strugglers West Ham United. With a trip to Old Trafford coming up on Tuesday, the Premier League will be the priority for the Welsh club, but they will be keen to avoid an upset.

Cardiff’s only absentee is left-back Andrew Taylor, so youngster Declan John will continue to deputise.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to pick a strong team for their visit to the Reebok.

Cardiff City go in to this match after 2 successive defeats and Bolton after being slaughtered at Reading on Saturday 7-1

' BOLTON WANDERERS '

Bolton were one of the pre-season favourites to be promoted, but have been extremely disappointing. It took them until October to even win a match, and after a mini-revival, they have slipped back towards the relegation zone, and last time out they were humiliated by Reading in a 7-1 thrashing. They have a strong squad, but the way things are going, Dougie Freedman’s job as manager could be under threat.

David N’Gog might not play for Bolton, after being the subject of a bid from Swansea City. Jermaine Beckford also misses out, but Brazilian Andre Moritz will be fit enough to play.

Andre Moritz fit for Cardiff game.

Brazilian midfielder returns to full training, though Jermaine Beckford remains sidelined.

After a brief spell on the sidelines, Andre Moritz has returned to full training and is available for selection ahead of the weekend’s game against Cardiff City.

The Brazilian missed out on last weekend’s trip to Reading with a knee injury sustaining in the game against Nottingham Forest.

But after a successful return to first team training on Thursday morning the Brazilian is in contention to feature in this weekend’s FA Cup with Budweiser fourth round tie at the Reebok.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Dougie Freedman said: “Andre Moritz missed the game at Reading last week with a slight knee complaint, but he has returned to full training today. He is available for selection.

“Jermaine Beckford will still be missing for us, but other than that we’re in a good position right now.

“We haven’t got a big squad to be dealing with, so there won’t be any real changes to our side.

“The players owe it to our fans to go straight back out there this weekend and turn in a performance.”

Bolton manager Dougie Freedman says he is embarrassed by his team's performance in the 7-1 defeat at Reading.

I think we'll go with a pretty strong side so Ole will have even more time to get the players playing his style.

Last 5 games:-
19 Aug 1989---Cardiff City 0-2 Bolton Wanderers---League Division Three
20 Jan 1990---Bolton Wanderers 3-1 Cardiff City---League Division Three
21 Dec 1999---Bolton Wanderers 1-0 Cardiff City---FA Cup
03 Nov 2012---Bolton Wanderers 2-1 Cardiff City---League Championship
27 Apr 2013---Cardiff City 1-1 Bolton Wanderers---League Championship

Fact:-
The last time City beat Bolton in the FA Cup, was 0-2 at Burnden Park, in February 1927, on the road to winning the FA Cup.

Prediction:-
Bolton 1-3 City

I don't know if it's the same for the UK, but it'll be streaming on Foxsoccer2go app in the States. It's also on FS2. Again, that's for the US though.

You can get 29/20 on William hill. I put 8 quid on and I'll get about 11 quid profit if they win.

I see people like Noone, Mutch etc. being rested as they are playing up to Ole's standard. I see the likes of Medel or Gunnarson, Eikrem, Odemwingie, Bellamy, Dhaeli getting a run out. I see Ole playing the players he feels are good for the match but need more minutes to get used to his philosophy.

I see Medal being rested.
I see Odemwingie not playing at all ( I hope!)

Bolton forward Andre Moritz will come back into contention after missing his side's 7-1 demolition by Reading last weekend with a knee injury.
Fellow striker David Ngog is close to a move to Swansea, while Stuart Holden (knee) is still absent.
Cardiff boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could hand Magnus Wolff Eikrem and Mats Moller Daehli full debuts.
Captain Mark Hudson and full-back Declan John could also play a part having not featured at Manchester City.
MATCH FACTS

• This is the sixth meeting in the FA Cup, with Bolton winning twice and Cardiff once.
• Bolton have won the trophy on four occasions, though not since 1958.
• Cardiff won the FA Cup for the only time in 1927, beating Arsenal in the final - the only time the Cup has been won by a non-English team. They more recently lost to Portsmouth in the 2008 final.
