So bad youve been on here every day laughing and joking

You attention seeking is an embarrasment to people who genuinely suffer from S.A.D and depression in general.

I think you need a better understanding of what is actually is before you make such a comment. You can have it on a range of levels and whilst I don't have it as bad as many others. I am a suffer of it and its bad so bad this year that I have one of those lights getting delivered. Normally I take my annual holiday at this time of year so that helps tremendously but unfortunately not able to do it this year so thats probably why I feel that its worse than ever this year.

Alot of people get depressed.

What annoys me is people self prescribing themselves illnesses.

'I'm so bipolar'. No,no your not.

Case and point, Stephen Fry can do one. He hates Tories because they're 'for the rich'. He lives in the Ritz?????????.
Attempted suicide comes out in the press? Wtf. Then he tells us all about on tv over christmas.
Openly supports prostitutes over twitter, as if he is some liberal sex queen.

from the outside its very easy to assume that any form of depression linked to the weather isnt an actual thing.

Depression can come in many forms and i dont think anyone who hasnt experienced it can truly know anything about it.

For the people who suffer with this, aside from going on Holiday, is there anything that can be done to combat the effects this has on you?

Exactly. Hes posting on here pissed and coked up all xmas. He reckon when he was talking to Talksport the other day he "was on my 2nd bottle of champagne"

If thats S.A.D then sign me up.

Having been around someone who has suffered depression myself then not being able to get out of bed without a struggle, low self esteem and too anxious to be around others is a more likely sign.

I dont think bragging about yourself and quaffing champagne are the usual tell tale signs somehow.

The twats attention seeking knows no boundaries.

I've always wondered if I suffer from it.

Since returning from working/living abroad I just want the winter periods to go my. If I could hiberate I would but unfortunately I can't as I dont have the chemistry of a bear. Then I look at others who claim to suffering from it and I realise then I just dont like winters like most people. Those I know that suffer from it will get home from work on a Firday afternoon, they actually take the afternoon off, will jump in bed and stay there still work time Monday morning. Some I know actually have there bedroom set up as a kitchen/bedroom/bathroom...very scary tbh.

Sounds a waste of weekend but the relief these guys show when Friday comes along you would think they were the party goers. However behind their closed doors you just know you are not going to get an invite into their wekend world.

He's getting worse Steve.

Needs to leave the Class A's alone. That would be a more likely cause of his "downer".

Exactly. That to me sounds like depression. Not being able to get out from under the duvet.

I dont think those guys would care too much for going on a social network / public forum to antagonise others.

Probably lieing in bed scared of their own shadow.

With all due respect Polo you really are un-educated about the subject of depression. Have you ever thought that people need to put a brave face on just to ensure that you don't bring others including family down with you..? And especially around Christmas time.

You seem to think that everyone who suffers from depression stay in their beds all day and to be honest if I was single and not working I probably would if when you have responsiblities then you can make things alot worse mentality. So rather than your comments maybe take time out and read upon the subject then you can make more informed comments.
