I am genuinely concerned that the search for a new manager will not be as easy as maybe VT and Dalman thought it would be, if Solksjaer does/has turned down the opportunity then we may find ourselves making an appointment for the sake of of doing so to fill the gap.

The names being linked of Sven, Ince and Vural do not inspire me with confidence at all.

It is critical for so many reasons that the new appointment is the correct one not just for keeping us in the Premier League but for the long term betterment for the club.

There are plenty of fans who want Vincent Tan to sell the club and move on but Tan will want to sell at the right price and get most of his money back if not all of it but that can surely only happen if we are a Premier League club.

Some fans will argue that should we be relegated then there is more chance of us returning to blue, I do not see that argument as having any credence to be honest and to be truthful it is not a route I want to go down, I have never heard VT suggest if we are unsuccessful then we will go back to blue.

I really believe that if VT was offered his money back then he would sell up so for myself the best chance we have of that happening is to be a debt free Premier League club.

Vincent Tan made a pledge upon rebranding the club that he will turn his loans into shares upon settlement of the Langston loan notes, this needs to happen ASAP and a manager brought in who has the experience and is able to keep this club in the top flight.

I hope that the search does not drag on and one name after another turn us down, we need a swift decision and allow things to return to some sort of normality as soon as possible particularly for the squad of players.

There is talent in this squad and all hope is not lost, far from it, I really believe that we can survive in this league even with the squad we have today, Malky played his system pretty well, it was not free flowing exciting football but it garnered results but I still believed he could have tweaked it to be a touch more creative, a change of manager has not changed my view of that and still believe that the squad is good enough but with the alleged promise of money to spend in January with the right choice of manager then we can get out of the relegation battle that we are in today and will be deeper in when February comes.

Quite right it needs to be quick and the right man. Clearly David Kerslake isn't confident in his caretaker role following his comments on not being interested in being a manager anywhere. Saturdays substitutions proved the point.

Nobody wants to touch us with a barge pole unless they are just in it for a quick pay day. I honestly can see us appointing Sven if OGS turns us down.

To be honest I would rather they took their time and got the right man.

Really think that we are going to struggle to find the right person due to Tans behaviour and reputation.

Yes there are plenty who will take it due to the money on offer but in all probabilities they will not be the kind of person we need and will be some kind of Journeyman/mercenary like Sven.

It's not going to be easy due to the Tan influence but personally I would prefer it if we persevered and got the right person, rather than make a panic appointment!

short term the team will be playing exactly the same, kerslake spent as much time if not more than malky taking drilling tactics I dont kno what he gained by sacking malky kerslake will keep it exactly the same.

Carl although we do need a manager in asap its more important to get the right man, we could have Sir Alex in charge and I dont think we would get a great return in January. I would probably let Kerslake and McBride go though and promote Cooper from the academy for a while. Although we did attack more against Sunderland I feel Kerslake and McBride are still stuck in the Malky mould, the subs were almost like Malky was still here, 2-0 and two massively defensive subs cost us.

I do agree that Ince doesnt fill me with confidence but Sven and Vural have already been ruled out by the chairman. The likes of Bielsa and Solskjaer also linked so its not all doom and gloom, but who ever is appointed it will be a risk. I dont think it will be as hard as people think to attract a manager, people want to manager in the premiership, even if to use us as a stepping stone, not many clubs financially back managers like Tan will, a new manager will want assurances about the interferreance but I think he will get it.

A new manager that comes in needs to do a bit more than tweak in my opinion, he needs to change the mindset of the entire squad. In recent weeks they almost looked afriad to attack. We need to do more than rely on set pieces, if we can add goals in open play to our set peices we become a hell of a lot more effective. Hopefully a new manager will get the wide players and striker we have been needing for the last 3 years.

A swift signing of a new manager is needed ASAP or there will be no new players in January.
