Sickening.
That's the only way I can describe the feeling tonight.
I could not see us dropping points in that game once we had reached 75 mins I felt the job was pretty much done and it was all about doing the right things, keeping shape, concentration and see the game out.
The first substitution which brought on Cowie for Noone, I really didn't think it was the right sub at that time, Kimbo was blowing out of his backside at the time the Noone substitution was made, Kimbo had misplaced or underhit his previous four passes and was clear to many in the stadium he had to be taken off and add some steel to the midfield.
I thought we should have left the runners of Noone and Campbell on unless they had absolutely nothing else to give like Kimbo didn't have anything left in the tank.
When you reach the 83rd minute of any game against any team at 2-0 up you really should be seeing the result out.
I would hope that Catherine has learnt from his last gasp mistake today, why the full back didn't send the ball high into the stands and allow us to set up to defend a throw in is something I am sure will be going through his mind tonight.
That said today was the first time this season that we had gone in at half time with the lead and I believe we were the last of the 20 PL clubs to do it.
There were positives from today, I thought Campbell run his socks off today yet again and was rewarded with a richly deserved goal.
Kimbo added creativity to the side that had been lacking recently and I though Kerslake was very positive in his team selection.
David Marshall yet again showed his worth to the team with some outstanding saves.
Where did that Chris Hoy find 5 minutes of injury time from?
He played 5 mins in fairness but where did it come from in the first place, we made three second half substitutions and Sunderland made one at half time and one double substitution, at 30 secs per substitution I make that 2 mins of added on time but where did the other three minutes come from, I don't recall a physio coming on once and apart from Kimbo going down I can't see where the extra minutes come from.
I was very disappointed that the 'Thank You Malky' banner had the stewards reacting in the fashion they did, it was an unprovocative message and goes to show what the club has become if we can't display messages of that ilk within the stafium bowl.
December has been a miserable month for City on and off the pitch and January doesn't look like easing our problems but onwards we go and I will be there to support the Bluebirds in our fight for survival because after today we are in a real scrap for survival.
It is likely to be a difficult month or so on the pitch and I am sure the fans will stick with the team and continue to support them through the tricky set of fixtures we have coming up.

If you don't kill teams off in this league you will be punished. It really is that simple.
Sat Dec 28, 2013 10:20 pm
Think your spot on there with your points
However why did gunnar give that stupid foul away which led to the goal?! Soo stupid!
Sat Dec 28, 2013 10:21 pm
I think today showed the difference between us and Hull. After 2 goals they kept looking for more, we just decided to sit on the lead instead of killing the game off

Agree with what you said Carl. But most disgusting of all was Tan allegedly although the film backs it up that he booed the players at the end.

He was probably and most likely booing the ref just as every other fan was at the end
Sat Dec 28, 2013 10:28 pm
we sat back again way to deep when we were in control of the game and we got punished for it and i am gutted.
The malky banner and the stewards was a dissgrace by cardiff city like carl says what the hell has this club become.
Sat Dec 28, 2013 10:30 pm
You got to say that was Malky's tactics sit back and defend a lead for the last 10 mins, instead of pushing for another goal
Sat Dec 28, 2013 10:31 pm
I think the banner episode is well out of order.

Exactly mate. Tan was bang out of order changing colours etc but these people will use absolutely anything to criticise him cos it suits their agenda.
If Sam Ham man was booing, they would say fair play to Sam for joining in with fans and booing the ref!

We need a manager who can cope at PL level. The players need to wise-up a lot. Naive today. We definitely need to strengthen.
David Marshall is a brilliant shot-stopper, and has obviously been working on his crosses, and is much improved. The flapping seems a thing of the past. But his distribution is terrible. We lose possession nearly every time, and are back under pressure again.
Sunderland probably deserved their draw, but we made it easy for them. Some really gormeless play from City in the last fifteen minutes.
The new manager really needs to get a grip fast. Otherwise we will be going down. A very sobering evening.

Weird game. 80 minutes of player confidence, performance and results, 10+5 minutes of player fear and failure. Substitutions destabilising. Sat there feeling the equaliser was going to come and it did. New manager has squad surgery to perform.

.
5 subs = 2 mins 30
2 goals = 1 min
= 3 mins 30 secs is the time he HAD TO add on.
There was also a few small stoppages for injuries and he visibly pointed to his watch when Marshall was taking his time over restarts - meaning the clock had stopped and would be added on at the end.

In the last 25 mins Cardiff took 30-40 seconds over practically every restart.

Yep, it was bad. Even in the first half Marshall was doing it at 1-0 up. Immediately thought of Mourinhos comments.
However the last 25 as you said was worse. And can definitely see where the extra 90 secs came from.

We r shit at the mo need the new manager to drop whitts desperado

Hull v Fulham, 6 2nd half goals plus 6 substitutions. 4 mins added on.
Cardiff v Sunderland 5 mins?

The Hull referee was incorrect, clearly. You cant moan that your ref made the right call because another ref got his decision wrong in another game.
30 seconds for every sub, every yellow card and every goal is the rule/guideline. Plus any time wasting or injury stoppage.
There were 2 goals, 5 substitutions and 3 bookings in the second half prior to the added time signal - 10 x 30 secs is 5 mins.
It seems he was lenient on your time wasting.

So you're now a referee assessor as well as chief stato and armchair fan
Sun Dec 29, 2013 12:48 am
You have to be a chief referee assessor to know the rules now?
Sun Dec 29, 2013 12:57 am
Technically footie expert Castro, Roathie, You are incorrcet about the time added on.
Sunderland made both their second half substitutions at the same time, less time allowed!
Kim was booked when the ball was dead as a goal had just been awarded.
Minor points but accurate ones

It doesnt matter.
Both dont come onto the pitch at the same time do they. 1 sub at the "same time" or 6 at the "same time" still warrants 30 secs at the discretion of the referee - and the booking time still takes place even after a goal. The ball being dead is exactly the point.
Thanks though,

He quite clearly did - the only other explanation was trying out his cow impressions.

Absolutely sure. The time added on is for a player to come off the pitch and the other to come on. These are seperate actions regardless of if they happen straight after eachother or not.
Dont think ive seen any Molde games. You?

I have to add... The most disappointing substitute was the Great Dane... He was crap, what a waste of money!! And who signed him dare I say?!

Rubbish.... He sits the row directly in front of me and I can confirm that when the second goal was conceded he was so disappointed he bowed his head in disbelief as many other fans did... Some fans are unbelievable... Anything to have a dig!

This was at the end, not after the goal. the whistle blew and the camera was right on his face, what is rubbish about it? He clearly said a prolonged "BOOOOOOOOOOO".
What do you think he said then? Just making a noise for fun?
