BIG GWYN - THE CHAIRMAN'S STATEMENT

Mon Dec 23, 2013 7:11 am

POST BY GWYN, TAKEN OFF THE OTHER BOARD

Surely people can see this for what it is, this is not confirmation of Vincent Tan having a U turn, this is simply a case of the Chairman managing to get a small extension on the three month stay of execution that has been in place since October.

If Tan thinks Liverpool was a problem that will go away with this oh so generous stay of execution, then he is more deluded that we thought.

The Chairman is crapping it "no banners for Tan out, have banners saying talk, talk" yeh OK.Best of luck, he's opened the cage to the bear pit, now deal with it.

Malky holds all the aces here,Malky will only decide to stay out of loyalty to his players and staff and his genuine love for the fans. What's Malky's worse scenario- get his full pay in one lump sum for the next three years and then walk straight into another possibly even better job.

A lot of people reading this will see my stance as a U turn, well my conscience is clean and time over I would take the same stance all over again, along with the majority of other fans we accepted the rebrand as a deal to save the club, and he got away with it.

If enough people had felt that strongly opposed to it, then what we witnessed in Liverpool would have been seen at every game, or on the other hand huge gaps in the stadium would have sent the message loud and clear.

A good few people couldn't accept the rebrand and walked away, and fair play to them, those that walked away but constantly criticise those that didn't and those that have a different view to them are another matter.

This adage of all these people on waiting lists etc being called plastics really doesn't wash, haven't we as a club been crying out for these fans to come in numbers and now they have people look down their noses at them.

I was then and still am grateful for the Malaysian's coming in when they did, I don't remember too many dissenters then, in fact some of the biggest critics Hmmm were pictured providing a welcome group standing in the club foyer with Malaysian flags etc.and nothing wrong with that because it saved us.

The rebrand was a move to far for some and for others a price and sacrifice we would accept, not simply to get into the Premiership as some would claim, but simply to stay in business, the HMRC weren't bluffing, they were out to liquidate us, not admin and ten points deducted but closure, yeh, rename, reform at best calor Gas South League, but more likely Welsh League division three.

We had no cards in our hands to play poker, but now I feel we have cards and a few aces in our hand, Tan is to deep into us to simply wreck us out of spite, he needs his money back and to get that he needs to sell us as a going concern, hopefully the new investors wwill be a bit more knowledgeable with regard to football and culture and dealing with people, as fans we can but hope, but what ever the situation is at present, it is still a hundred times better than it was three years ago, the roller coaster is till rolling strap yourself in.

Sorry Gwyn but you have made yourself look a fool.

the threat of sacking Malky has caused this outrageous U Turn when the rebrand you accepted without blinking????

Why this loyalty to Malky? If Everton had come calling in the summer he would have been gone without a thought for the fans. He even refused to deny it on national TV!

I support CCFC. Not a chairman, Not an owner, not a player and not a manager.

Re: BIG GWYN - THE CHAIRMAN'S STATEMENT

I can see Malky leaving the club. I just cannot see any other solution now.

If this happens I just wonder if Gwyn will renew his ST. I would expect him not to after his antics of the last two seasons where he has had a go at those who opposed the rebrand but still renewed.

So if its goodbye Malky its goodbye Gwyn Davies.

Re: BIG GWYN - THE CHAIRMAN'S STATEMENT

That is the most two faced, fickle nonsense ive ever read.

This was a man who went on national TV in tears that Tan had decided to keep you blue, he said he would play in pink pyjamas if they had to and asking the fanbase to show up with "thai" flags to show Tan just "how much we love him" ... not to mention being the head of a anti blue group of thugs threatening anyone who stood up for the clubs colours against Tan.

Bonkers.

Have a agree with this . How many still think the rebrand was to market us in the Far East . Can't believe some fans bought that shit . Purely to satisfy the personal preference of our nutcase owner . Who is rapidly becoming ( along with the club itself ) a global laughing stock . I have no problem with the Everton link business . If our managers move on to bigger clubs ( lets not start the Everton debate again lol) then it means they will have done a good job for us . Everyone wants to try and work at the highest possible level in life .

Let's hope he sells up ASAP . The Russian mafia will do

How did the rebrand save us?

The Malaysians were involved 2 years before the rebrand.

Spot on again.

Its nothing to do with "saving the club" the rebrand was accepted for transfer fees. Simple. Easy for those who rolled over to cite that though as it doesnt sound as bad.

I think the only poster ive seen who accepted the rebrand and admitted shamelessly that it was due to the increased chance of promotion was bluebirdsince1947.

I really cant believe anyone even takes anything Gwyn says serious, him and Tan suit each other.
Gwyn did not just accept the rebrand, he bought the red, wore the red, embraced the red, belittled those that stayed BLUE, next he will be telling you he was there years ago

Gwyn epitomises the best and worst of our supporters, he wares his heart on his sleeve, dives head first into every situation, passionately defends or attacks and then comes up with egg on his face as he does not have the intelligence or capacity to understand the situation over his basic instinct. Our club is full of such supporters, who more often than not lead the rest of us
The tragedy is, it was only two weeks ago that Gwyn was amongst the group who attacked the PT lad, for mouthing off about Kicking Tan out etc, you couldn't make it up

Shocking stuff from Gwyn tbh. That Port Talbot nonsense was shocking , there is no place at The City for wannabee hooligans. Taxi for Gwyn IMO...
