Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be next Cardiff City manager
Thursday 19th December 2013
Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been installed as overwhelming favourite by two bookmakers to become the next Cardiff City m:anager post-Malky Mackay.
The future of the popular Bluebirds boss has been thrown into further doubt following stinging remarks directed his way by Cardiff owner Vincent Tan.
It has prompted BetVictor and Stan James to place Solskjaer at the top of a book on the next permanent Cardiff manager.
Solskjaer is as short as 1-2 odds on favourite, with Sven Goran-Eriksson at 12-1 in second position. Former Cardiff chief Dave Jones is also placed high up in the betting at 14-1, followed by Craig Bellamy and Roberto Di Matteo (each 16-1) and Gianfranco Zola.
The news comes as Solskjaer has also been placed as favourite to be the next West Brom manager after his Norwegian club Molde confirmed two approaches had been made for his services from Britain.
The former Old Trafford striker has enhanced his coaching credentials with back-to-back titles in his native Norway, the club's first in their history.
That success and a failure to extend his current contract, which expires in 2014, has seen Solskjaer linked to various vacancies, with his name heading the list of candidates for the vacant West Brom post and also the Cardiff job, whenever that comes up.

So that means if you were to put a tenner on dave jones being the next Cardiff manager you would lose £10

Ole would be perfect in Tans eyes as PR in Malaysia.
Ex United legend how many of them over there would start following us if he were to come here???

Bellamy with director of football above him is my punt so 16-1 sounds good.

double that with Malky West Ham could be a right result !

I don't want Malky to go, but it looks inevitable. One thing is for sure Shearer or Solskjaer would get us scoring goals.

Hhmmmmmm was it the same day that Solskjaer was talked about as favourite for the WBA job that Tan made his coments ???
If not it was pretty close after ?????

Solskjaer would be fantastic as a replacement for Malky, should he be sacked.
Saying that, I wouldn't wish working under Vincent Tan on any manager.

I heard a few weeks ago that we had a replacement lined up and easy to go, but thought things had cooled and they had decided to stick with Malky........

what exactly can solskjaer offer us, he hasnt even managed in this league.
trying to compare success in norway to england is like comparing muslim to a jew

Actually Muslim's and Jew's are very similar , both don't eat pork and Saturday is their Sabbath. You'd think they would get on better.

What do you base that on then out of interest ?

Which self respecting manager is going to work under Tan?
Malky is highly respected and regarded as a big up and comer in management circles.
No one is going to want to work for Cardiff after the way hes been treated.
Maybe his son has a few high school friends who won the Champions League with Man Utd on Football Manager..

Tan is not the only crackpot owner out there. If he pays the £££ then there will be no shortage of managers queuing up for the job. I can't say that Solskjaer would be a bad manager but he would be a huge risk.
I just hope all the fans and the players get behind Malky as he really doesn't deserve this treatment.

I don't believe any decent person would want to work with Tan in any capacity. TG got the hell out, Malky wants out and Tan has alienated and divided the fans.
Only yes men will work with him and name one good boss who's a yes man?
Tan is a laughing stock around the world who has made our club a soap opera to rival Corrie.
.We'll get who we deserve, a spineless git who'll take us down.

Malky had never managed in the Premier league prior to this season either. Were you calling for him to be sacked for a manager who has managed at the top level?

I do get the feeling that if Tan sacks Malky now, it won't be so much about getting behind a new manager, more about ousting Tan even if it means going down and starting again.

Still tops the list for Cardiff, Daily Mail - always first with Cardiff City News this season.......

Dream on,what self respecting manager would even consider you with that idiot of a chairman.

One thing I know is, whoever Tan brings in will be a yes man. Tan will run us into the ground and he'll sell Caulker for an obscene amount of money and f**k back to the dark hole where he came from.
