Brendan Rodgers Slams Vincent Tan & Say his opinion on Malky

In the pre match press conference before the game Rodgers described the Malky Macay situation at Cardiff " astonishing" he also says that the Cardiff City owner "knows nothing about football"

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that he is "astonished" by the situation at Cardiff City for manager Malky Mackay.

The Scotsman has sparked a rift with owner Vincent Tan after he publicly claimed that he would like to add three new players to his squad in January.

Following on from his comments, the club issued a statement claiming that Tan was "extremely upset" because there are no funds available for the winter window.

According to The Times, Rodgers said today: "My only conclusion is that the club is being run by a businessman who knows nothing about football. The longer [Mackay's] there, the more he will build them up."

The Bluebirds visit Anfield on Saturday after a week in which there has been a public fall out between Mackay and Tan over transfers, leading to more speculation over the manager's future.

Their first season in the Barclays Premier League has seen further off-field strife with the sacking of head of recruitment Iain Moody, who was replaced by someone with no football background and a friend of Tan's son.

Rodgers said: "I find it astonishing what he has had to go through. This is a guy who walked into Cardiff after they had lost in the play-off semi-finals and they waited two weeks to sack the manager Dave Jones on the day we (Swansea) were in the final - which I found strange.

"Malky walked into the club with 10 players that summer and he totally transformed the mentality of the club."

"He has had great results this season and is going to go on and be a great manager at a big club and I find it absolutely astonishing there is talk about him leaving there.

"I worked with Iain Moody at Watford, one of the most authentic people you could ever meet. My only conclusion is you have a business guy operating the club who knows absolutely nothing about football.

"When I see what Malky has had to put up with, to see him being questioned I find it remarkable. Especially when supporters there look up to him and respect him for what he's done."

Just seen that and does anyone else think that those are Malky's words spoken by one of his best mates in football. I can't otherwise understand why Rogers would get involved and to me t sounds like Malky is passing on his thoughts to City fans because he cant say them himself. Not sure if I saw all of the interview, but it was strong stuff and he didn't mention the game on Saturday at all on the interview I saw.

Be interesting to see if any how Tannie reacts now the whole world of football are coming out and telling him he's a clueless clown.

Vinnie the Poo has lost face big time . That is the very very worst thing that could happen to a man such as him.All because for the first time in his life he has not been the Numero uno.
