Did the Bus Driver use excessive force?

Mon Dec 16, 2013 12:21 am

The yob on the bus will not leave until his belongings are ejected, then he spits in the drivers face and gets a few smacks from the driver. Unfortunately the driver lost his job, but if he'd called the Police they probably would have turned up too late to catch the yob or would have just given him a warning or caution. No win situation for the driver, but the yob will think twice about spitting in a drivers face.

As a PCV License holder he is suppose to maintain a professional manner to all passengers and member of the public. Regardless of level abuse you take you cannot attack anyone,However you can use force to defend yourself. Most Drivers these days are issued with Spit Kits. Normally someone who would spit is probably likely to have previous and would've already done swab test and have DNA registered with the authorities.

I know its hard and easy to flip your lid ESP when your in this job but you cross the line and you must accept the punishment.
Only Wednesday I got a bit frustrated with some Teens who where just f*cking around on bus stops but it was delaying me and my passengers and verbal abuse was aimed at me and passengers. Things were thrown at the bus and as I drove away I flipped em the bird!!! It was silly by me to lower my self to there standard but if it's brought to the attention of my bosses I will get pulled in for it.

accepting the consequence of your actions is what being a responsible person is all about.

Unfortunately, if someone gets caught and if they're prosecuted the punishment is usually paltry and there's two 'ifs' in this statement as well.

After watching footage of the video I have come to the conclusion that the company has made the correct decision in Sacking the driver.
He showed no patience or consideration for the passengers situation.
He was aggressive and very rude( this was just when he was asking home to leave ).

He did not attempt to contact the police or even his controller.

Someone spat in my face id do exactly the same thing as that bus driver did! They'd have to drag me off the dirty kunt. Nothing worse than being spat at in the face. Good on the driver i say. A punch in the chops, or a slap in the face is fukall compared to someone gobbing in your face. Its the ultimate insult in my book, plus you don't know what kind of diseases they got... Hepatitis c etc

He didn't even start to raise his voice until he'd asked him to leave 5 TIMES. How much patience is required and how many times does he have to ask him to leave before losing patience?

He is a professional driver allegedly...

Developing greater Patience and understanding without making assumptions is part of your training as a PCV driver.

bollux to that this is exactly why this country is going to shit, nothing wrong with a clip teach the fucker a lesson maybe if more people started adopting this approach then teens would stop doing it. I'm only 24 myself and I was no saint but I was brought up with morals and a little bit of respect! If I spat in someones face the least I'd expect is a slap although I would never lower myself to that standard.

Not Bollux!!! Not Bollocks either...

There is only one professional person on the clip...
He acted in a non professional manner and got sacked for it.

f*cking Simple to be honest.

All people who drive for a living are wankers and I include my own father in that who drives for the company I work for.

Great father and grandfather but a wanker to work with.

Impatient, selfish, rude, ignorant, anti-customer.etc.etc. Traits I have noticed are a common theme with people who drive for a living.

Standard car drivers are not paid to drive for a living

I would like nothing better than to tell some of my customers to f**k off but you have to be proffesional at all times.

Bus drivers are quite possibly the worst of the lot when it comes to customer service.

Re: Did the Bus Driver use excessive force?

I found a list before on the internet about police officers, it had there name what force they were in and what crime they had committed it was about 6 double sided pages and had offences such as rape and even child rape on there I was shocked by it. I printed it off to keep it as I knew it would disappear from the internet but I've just asked the mrs for it and she's chucked it.

It just goes to show that even these police who are paid to protect us are crooks not all of them but they all abuse there power and think they are better than the law.

This country has gone to pot too many pen pushers who haven't actually got a clue what goes on in this country

You can make all the assumptions you clowns want to,but the fact remains every profession has its idiots and it's good guys. If you want to be narrow minded and tarnish all with the same brush then you're bigger fucktards than I thought.

That is irrelevant to the current topic,so many things happen in the heat of battle so you can never assume what someone is thinking.

As a PCV driver I feel I am entitled to an opinion.
But according to some because of my profession I am automatically ignorant rude selfish and what was the other one?.... Oh yeah a Wanker.

Everyone who drives for a living is a Wanker according to Polo.

You have smartly avoided answering the question so I'll ask again, do you think the solider deserved a life sentence?
