' Craig Conway return '

Wed Dec 11, 2013 6:36 pm

Craig Conway will complete his loan spell to Brighton on Saturday .

Anybody think he has a chance to break into the team here now ?
We could do with him at the moment , he's had a great season down their so far , I would have him back in the squad personally we are short on the wings and he puts a great ball in to the box !
:ayatollah:

Craig Conway admits he doesn't know where his future lies ahead of the final game of his loan stint with Brighton. The Scotland international is set to complete his loan spell with the Championship side after Saturday's trip to Middlesbrough. Conway will then return to parent club Cardiff City but admits he doesn't think he has a future with the Bluebirds and is keen to secure a permanent move in January. The winger has indicated he would welcome the chance to join Brighton on a permanent basis, but he remains unsure as to whether the Seagulls will try and re-sign him in January. "This is my last year. I've got just over six months left [on his deal at Cardiff] so I will be looking to get something sorted. We will obviously speak about that," he told the Argus. "The two clubs [Brighton and Cardiff] have been in contact about games, just letting me know my progress. I've just had a couple of texts here and there with the coaches and players. That's really as far as it has gone. "I've had no conversation about what is going to happen in January."

Sell him whilst we can get something for him

He cannot play for Cardiff until January.
He would be better off at Brighton. :ayatollah:

I always liked Conway

I never felt malky gave him a fair crack of the whip, considering we are struggling without having any genuine wingers

im surprised noone hasn't been shipped out considering the way we play

I hope we put him in the squad, play him a few times so he signs a new contract then chuck him in the reserves for 3 years.

Not sure why, I just think it'd be quite funny.

Thomas, I believe Conway wants to stay with Brighton, cant blame him though.

He does want to stay at Brighton by the sounds of it but given a shot at the prem for a few months then leaving on a free might persuade him to stay and prove himself

He also can't go back until January his deal is up

You don't know what talent you've let go. Should of given him a chance in the prem. Bloody brilliant for us :malky:

That's out of order. He wants first team games and he's not getting that at Cardiff so he can get that with us and is the first name.on the team sheet. He is good. Rips the left midfield and defence to shreads. Best form of his life here and may it continue :malky:

Very good championship player, don't think he could make the step up though.

In all seriousness though I hope we have a 1 year option in his contract so we can tie him down for one more season if we get relegated.

If I'm right then isn't he out of contract at the end of the season? If he is then we'll be siging him. Bloody class player and will be a lose when he goes back.

Making a lot of assumptions there.

Alright Chuckles. I'm not but you should of given him a chance in the prem, might have surprised a few. He is a top player in our squad.

He's not the best Winger in the squad, but he has to be a better bloody option than Whitts on the left.

You are. A few assumptions. Just because a player enjoys a loan spell at the club, doesn't mean he will automatically go there on a permanent deal. We've been stung like that ourselves in the past.

He was a good player for us last season, but I'm unsure of how he would have fared. Wingers haven't been played all that much this season for us.

That's the problem with you lot isn't it. Get promoted and no cahmpionship players are good enough. How do you know without given them the chance to prove themselves. Palace are and look at them.

Problem with you all is you knock players without given them a chance.

It's called having an opinion. I'd like to think I've got a better idea idea of what would fit in our team than you would, as I watch them week in and week out.

Plenty of championship players are good enough - we've got a fair few in our squad ourselves - doesn't mean that they ALL are good enough & I don't feel he is.

If only you could combine Noone & Conway - now THAT would be some player.

Yes he would say that but by god is he performing for us. Bloody good player and if he comes back then auto promotion isn't out the question but play offs is a certainty wirh out a doubt.

Yes I was at Palace :ayatollah:

The squad is re-submitted in January, after the window. Means he could be out back in, at the expense of someone like smith.

He won't be and you all know it and he'll be loaned back to us as Malky has no confidence in any of his players and more so conway which is good news for us.

More assumptions there.

However, I'd say the fact that he won't be says that he doesn't think Conway is good enough for this level either. Something I'd say was harsh, but probably agree with.

Can you please stop saying 'assumptions' please Chuckle. We all know it's the truth regarding Conway and yes he'll be back with us in January.

You love us really

Stop assuming & then you won't be accused of making assumptions.

Nobody knows it's the truth. He could well be bought by someone else this January, nobody knows. If he's performing as well as you say he is, a number of clubs may be interested - with greater promotion chances.
