' Our Club needs to make a statement ? '

In my opinion, our club needs to make a statement fully supporting our Manager Malky, either just a club statement or from our new Chairman or even our owner Vincent Tan,If all these stories are untrue. Surely with the media speculation mounting weekly and I am hearing the next news out from the media will be that Tan ect has offered Malky's job to someone else, not just discussed it.

You all go on about, lets wait for a club statement on this, that or the anything else that is said in the media or on forums, which has been nothing compared to this in the past etc, so how about our club squashing these so called stories once and for all from the Daily Mail,Guardian,Echo and foreign media etc . So then Malky, his team and our fans can just get on with talking football on the pitch.

Opinions please

Do u think all this needs to be put to bed once and for all by our club?

or Do you think our Club is right to just ignore it and not show Malky their full support?

Is it good that our owner does not talk to his manager no more? or does it not matter ?

Do you believe there is any truth in the media reports?

Fair Play to Malky, he himself has answered the latest story, but surely it should not be on his shoulders all the time.

I am meeting the chairman later this afternoon, I will ask him for some clarity on this...the problem is that Vincent Tan has the power to hire and fire who he wants and he is the guy that needs to be convinced...but it wont be fans that influence his decision....hopefully Sir Alex and other football people that meet Tan, explain to him the value of Mackay to the club.

I cant see Tan wanting to Hire this Turk mentioned though, surely that must have come from the chairman?

TBH I dont think the club need to make a statement, Malkys position should be dependant on how well he is managing us and for now he is doing a good job.

Re: ' Our Club needs to make a statement ? '

I agree 100% - and an unambiguous statement of support - not weasle words that could be taken several different ways, and not the type of statement of support that failing managers get from the Board a week before they're sacked!

It is total madness that this sort of distraction is going on when we are (team/fans/club) making such impressive progress and winning friends and admirers from all around - everything apart from the Red/Moody/Tan stuff. We've had more than our share of that type of rubbish. Well past the time we need to close ranks, pull together and make Cardiff City FC - the Bluebirds under Malky as manager - a fixture in this league!

Good on you Corky, I know you will tell us exactly how the reply is.

Th problem with Tan is as you know Corky, he changes his mind daily on a lot of things and your right he does not care what our thoughts/feelings are, he will make his own decision like he did with Ian Moody even though it upset Malky.

Annis personally I feel the writing is on the wall for Malkey, I agree we need a statement from CCFC I also know that we wont get one until The mad Emperor says so.
I for one am resenting the day I ever heard of Malaysia and going into the stadium every match it seems as if we are IN Malaysia. As an adopted Welshman I am so offended with what he is doing to neutralise our culture. He is going to get a hell of a wake up call if he sacks the fella.

Re: ' Our Club needs to make a statement ? '

Annis I firmly believe that the club/Mr Tan are of the opinion that ANY publicity is good publicity.

Problem is if they make a statement now then they will have to do so everytime the media run a story. Otherwise fans will be saying they made a statement last time so why not now etc etc and it becomes never ending.

Re: ' Our Club needs to make a statement ? '

Fri Nov 29, 2013 2:15 pm

I think the supporters and players deserve to know one way or the other, exactly how Tan feels about his manager. What should have been one of our most exciting seasons in years is fast becoming completely farcical. Football seems to have become less of an issue at the club, and Tans antics continually hog the headlines. After suffering years of lower league football and dodgy owners/chairmen (going back as far as the Goldstone era), I thought Tan would be the dawn of a new era for CCFC. Apart from the quality of the teams now visiting Cardiff, not a lot has changed, and there is still plenty going on in the background which is having an unsettling effect on the supporters. While I welcome Tan's money, I don't think he understands football enough to realise just how much he has annoyed the fans. He can quickly repair a lot of the damage by accepting that we have one of the brightest prospects in the country managing our club, and acknowledging that playing in blue means a hell of a lot to the majority of the fans. We can then concentrate on football, and enjoy watching Swansea playing championship football next season while we retain our Premier League status.

Re: ' Our Club needs to make a statement ? '

Fri Nov 29, 2013 2:18 pm

Tan doesn't want a quality manager he wants a Yes man that will do his bidding with no questions asked

Re: ' Our Club needs to make a statement ? '

Fri Nov 29, 2013 3:37 pm

Trouble is it seems to be the fashion at the moment for a continental manager, the argument for is that they know how to handle the top foreign players better than the British ones.I think the club will sit tight on this one.

Re: ' Our Club needs to make a statement ? '

Fri Nov 29, 2013 3:39 pm

We need a quality manager (like Malky) to keep us in the prem for next year. Otherwise there won't be so much dosh to splash about next season.

Yes wants mickey mouse so can get relegated! Tan is not stupid despite peoples opinions that he is, only decent manager will keep us in premier. Anything else is ridiculous especially just to have a yes man?

Wez, can u put the exact wording up on here please of that statement and date

today from the chairman
Controversial Turkish manager Yilmaz Vural has been quoted by the media in his homeland as saying he is set to join Cardiff City but chairman Mehmet Dalman has denied any knowledge of a deal

Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman has dismissed claims from Turkish manager Yilmaz Vural he is set to join the Bluebirds as 'rubbish' and 'fantasy'.

Malky Mackay's future as Cardiff managerwas shrouded in more mystery after Turkish media outlets linked veteran coach Vural with the Welsh club..

The 60-year-old was quoted as saying an 'agreement in principle' was in place for him to move to south Wales, the Turkish media even reporting he attended the Arsenal against Marseille UEFA Champions League match at the invitation of Bluebirds chairman Dalman.

But Dalman told WalesOnline he had never even heard of Vural and said he had been angered by the talk.

Need to stop demanding statements for the sake of it, we kept Malky when he was with Everton with no statement, so why give a statement to paper talk in this case?

On one hand, it would be good if the club came out and said something in support of the manager, but that doesn't always mean anything these days - chairmen can say one thing on one day and do something else a couple of days later.

I'd like to think it's just paper talk - there's a lot of speculation aroubd AVB at the moment, and I can't see him going anywhere...

Re: ' Our Club needs to make a statement ? '

Again sad to hear the opinions of the Tan appeasers who have posted on this subject and they should hang thier heads in shame. Tan has had numerous chances recently to publicly back Malky but has done nothing of the sort which is certainly not good for the stability of our club or for giving confidence to our manager.
I stick by my opinion that there is not another manager available who would be capable of getting any more effort out of our current squad than Malky does. If Tan gets rid of Malky then he will deserve to feel the full extent of our feelings towards him. :ayatollah:
