I commend BU for what they have tried to do, but unfortunately it looks unlikely that they are going to be able to convince the large proportion of fans who still want us to go back to blue to back Bluebirds Unite.
It's clear from speaking to fans and reading this forum along with twitter and facebook that most fans want to see us back in blue, but are reluctant to join in with protests/marches.
The easiest thing to do is obviously to make a conscious effort to keep wearing as much blue as possible to matches, and bring your blue flags/scarves.
If we can keep the ground looking blue (and hopefully make it more blue), Tan will hopefully start to realise that he is not going to win over the fans on the colour issue.
It's obvious that dialog with the powers that be is not a likely avenue, however we need to stick together and come up with some sensible ideas and suggestions, and try and get all City fans on board.
What can we do?

Flags are also a good shout, the Welsh flag in City colours is a good one.
Also on the word of professionalism, there should be no abuse or fascism, this is where BU failed

Why don't we try and organise a blue scarf giveaway? Obviously not on the scale of Tan's, but it's an option.

This is an idea that has been suggested many times and it is a very good idea. But we need two things, organisation and money. You could probably get blue and white scarves wholesale for say £2-3 pound a piece, so you would need say £5000 to buy enough to make any kind of impact on a match. But where do you get the money? The Trust? Fundrasing?
Of course there is the publicity such a fans organised initiative would get.

The committee have already showed huge drive and impressive organisational abilities. They've barely been around for six months and have already held three marches, organised and paid for a billboard, staged a couple of very well attended get togethers in Canton, put together a petition signed by thousands of people, as well as holding several planning and committee meetings. Not bad for unpaid volunteers!
Do they need to change tack slightly? Yes, of course they do. Any organisation always has to evolve sensibly in order to keep growing.
Far from bring "a lost cause," though,I would argue that they are simply at a crossroads. What they do next is important but it would be churlish and frankly ridiculous to dismiss all of their hard work to date.

You are probably right, maybe I didn't phrase it in the best way.
From what I've read on here and facebook/twitter in recent days, it seems as if it's going to be impossible to persuade even fans that want the blue back to support BU.
I'm not trying to knock BU as such, and maybe I'm just annoyed by all of the bickering/arguing that has been going on over the last few days/weeks.
The billboard was great, and they have generated some good publicity.
My concern is that a large proportion of the fans will not support BU, and it will end up becoming more of a minority/extreme group.
I'm just trying to unite the fanbase, and come up with ideas that all fans will welcome.
There's no reason this can't be done in conjunction with/alongside other existing organisations.

there were many on here last week, myself included, willing you to ditch the Tan out stuff. it wasnt anti blue, or anti BU. it was wishing youd have a good look at what the large majority thought as opposed to reading what was on your FBpage , it was at one time ALL about blue, and that alone was always going to be a long patient fight. seems frustration got the better and it moved on to anti Tan. i hate what he did with with the colours, but overall he has done lots of good, the vast majority of people ive talked to seem to share that view. i think the march just confirmed what most feared,it was anti tan 1st and foremost, the racism if it did or didnt happen is by and by, most just want blue back, how do you now convince people that you are not an anti tan protest group.......or are you?. i wish you were not, wish you were not last sunday

I should start by saying, I'm not directly involved with BU but have enormous amounts of time for the key people behind the group. Sian Branson is a natural leader with lots of drive and determination. I back their key goal which has always been a return of the blue and bluebird. I've also attended several of their events, so I could best be described as an active supporter.
On the whole, BU get an awful lot more right than they do wrong and despite the feeding frenzy that has surrounded their every move, I firmly believe that what they've achieved thus far has been admirable.
It also has to be said that I'd like to see them start tweaking things to leave themselves less exposed to what is frequently entirely disproportionate criticism. Personally, I would drop the Facebook page as soon as possible. It seems that much of the abuse that they get emanates from that page or failing that just use it solely for public statements and announcements but disable the comments section. It's just not worth the grief trying to effectively manage and monitor comments on what is, let's be fair, still a hugely emotive topic. It is proving to be their Achilles heel and detracting from all of the great stuff - and there is plenty - that they've achieved so far.

we are no closer to getting blue back.it could be argued that of late the groups anti tan stance has done more harm than good.

Tbf, unless I've missed it, I've never actually heard BU issue a statement directly calling for 'Tan out.'
Likewise, the last flier - publicising the march - was still based around seeing the traditional identity restored. I do agree, though, that the main goal for BU should remain seeing the blue reinstated.

Your a week late on that one Alfie.
Chuckles was singing that tune all last week "official statement" blah de blah de blah and since he attended the march he had held his hands up and said he got it wrong. He felt the march was more about Tan out than a celebration of the blue.
This is where its going wrong for BU because whilst im sure everyone who gives a f**k want the blue back, the vast majority dont want Tan out.

ive read on another thread ,Alf saying we have all got hold of the wrong end of the stick, they dont want his head on a stake, just want him to sell.
it seems no matter how many times people say a TAN OUT message divides fans they just dont get it.
give me a welsh, Cardiff through and through chairman/ owner any day.. but with enough money to buy him out, there just arnt any.
if any business was losing custom or massively under achieving, and then found out that a large number of potential customers were not using them due to a misconception. would they say ,but we havent made an official statement saying that?..or would they make a strong official statement correcting those misconceptions.. no..no official statement
