Why does it say History at the bottom?

Probably because for 100 years we play in blue, and one man decided to eradicate it on a whim and we hardly ever play in blue, it's being slowly removed from the stadium and you can't buy much of the stuff.

Get it?

Good.

Re: TODAYS ECHO.

i want us to be blue.and for that reason hope this is a success.

Tan has shown no respect thats for sure, but i must say ,consultation?,ive been a City fan over 40years NO chairman,or board has ever consulted me on anything.

please keep this about JUST THE BLUE.

Actually, say what you like about Hammam, he came up with his ideas, but he engaged and consulted with fans and thats why we kept the bluebird and our name and colours.

Tan has such zero respect for us, that he changes something so fundemental and doesn't entertain discussion on it.

He never meets with fans.

Lets be honest though if Sam thought he could have got away with it he would have.

Problem was crowds werent as high as Sam hoped, we were never selling out he couldnt risk losing more fans.

Tan has a waiting list for a waiting list of Fans at the moment, he can lose fans and it not effect the club.

As a printer myself I find the proof reading shocking on this advert.

Theres is two paragraphs with closing inverted commas but none at the start.

If I was you I would call the Echo and get some money knocked off the advert.

Unless of course the ad was designed by BU and submitted themselves then you only have yourselves to blame.

Did you ever attend one of Sams "meets with fans"?

Inciting racial hatred against the English and swearing for all the cavemen to lap up.

I went to one in Merthyr it was embarrasing.

Certainly no way for a chairman of a football club to be acting.

ok..Sam did, but only with certain fans. i have never been consulted and im sure thousands of others havent either.its not a complaint.just think it needs pointing out for a chairman or a board to consult us isnt common place at any club,or under any regime, its not just Tan.
having said that, the colour change, showed no respect what so ever,my view a step to far.

He's a printer mate, he doesn't proof read on things either it seems... Quick to pick up on grammar mistakes on an advert and his grammar is even worse and he is an apparent printer too :laughing5:

Factual

Re: TODAYS ECHO.

Mon Nov 18, 2013 5:03 pm

History is the past........it has not been changed

If they are trying to attract new fans I think they are failing very fast, I have been on the fence for a while and If I have to be honest I would rather reluctantly accept the red rather than these muppets it is now very cringeworthy

How can you say red is part of our history? We have played in red for one and a third seasons. We have been wearing blue for over a 100 years. It's obvious the advert is stating we want our history of playing in blue to be restored.

Bit of a difference between a free post on a message board and an advert costing a few hundred pounds in a newspaper

And whilst we are picking up errors "proof read on things" makes no sense :kermit:

You can't change history, it's in the past. Majority was blue, recent history is in red. If we go back to blue then red will still be in our history. It's not going to change, it's already happened.
Two biggest moments in our history imo
Was winning the FA Cup in blue but no bluebird on the badge
Getting promoted which unfortunately was in red with a dragon.
By can shout what they want but those won't change that or any of the rest of our history.

Obviously that's all correct, but I wasn't going on about that. I was going on about the word history in the advert obviously referring to our 100 years of history in blue. It's not referring to our one and a third seasons in red is it!

I think Tan sees you lot as more like annoying nats than revolutionists. He's a billionaire with the controlling stake of Cardiff City and your a multi-hundred out of 27,000 + the waiting list complaining about how he's 'tarnished' Cardiffs history when all he's done is made it better.

He hasn't changed our name or nickname - we're still Cardiff City, the Bluebirds. We play in red and still play in blue. We have a blue away kit. We still have our history from the 1927 cup wins, the lower league promotions, play off failures, league cup loss, us dominating the Championship, beating Manchester City, beating Fulham.

Colour is irrelevant, our performances, achievements make the history.

Absolute nonsense.

Colour is integral, absolutely integral to a clubs identity. Far more than a nickname, and as much as the club name to be honest.

A name is a name, in itself it isn't an identity.
