Cardiff city manager Malky Mackay has targeted two Belgian midfield playmakers to boost his squad in the January transfer window .
Mousa Dembele of Tottenham Hotspur and Kevin de Bruyne of Chelsea are both high on the scots list of potential targets as he attempts to give his Cardiff side a more attacking edge to their play .
The Belgian pair both have sights set on a World Cup place and look increasingly likely to move on to ensure they are on the plane to Brazil next summer .

Moussa Dembele? Not a f*cking chance

If we got either I'd cry with joy.

Where did you get this from?

Dembele? Now that would be a signing. Can't quite see it happening, though.

Fantastic news if true, can't see Dembele though. Got a chance with Dr Breunye

We might have more luck with de Bruyne if true. Quality player, but he's down the pecking order at Chelsea, and hell, they let Lukaku go on loan.

The Belgium international has fallen out-of-favour at White Hart Lane since Spurs' defeat to West Ham, starting just two of the last five games and was brought off at half-time in their latest loss against Newcastle.

Premier League sides are eager to take advantage of the 26-year-old's situation, with the likes of Newcastle, Aston Villa, Southampton, Cardiff and Swansea interested parties.

They will have to fend off Serie A outfit Napoli, with former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez also reportedly keen to lure Dembele away from north London.

I can not be satisfied with it, of course, I just want to play as many games.

Dembele revealed his dissatisfaction of being on the bench to Belgian newspaper Nieuwsblade ahead of Sunday's defeat against the Magpies: "I can not be satisfied with it, of course, I just want to play as many games.

After this summer (Caulker and Medel) I wouldn't bet against anyone not coming here; particularly if they are guaranteed 'First Team' football in the build-up to the World Cup in Brazil ;)

It may seem highly unlikely, but money (and the odd international manager putting pressure on players) will talk :ayatollah:

Doubt they let Dembele go out on loan in Europe or Championship..

In fairness we would be in with a shout for both, we are not exactly a threat to them and they need game time.

Either or both would be ideal....

Just our luck though Malky would then leave them on the bench

The mere fact that they have been mentioned on here would suggest they won't be joining us!

They both need to be guaranteed first team football, which they would do here. I can't see Spurs or Chelsea loaning them to anyone in the top ten so we have a better chance than a lot of teams.

Also, if one of them comes then that may attract the other to come here and play with his fellow countryman. Would love to see them here.

Well he left Kim and Mutch out at villa.

He had loaned people before, Fulham lad I forget, good attacking player and hardly used him.

Mousa Dembele could be on his way out of Spurs after admitting he wants to play more regularly.

The Belgium international joined Spurs in 2012 and has since made over 60 appearances.

Although he has played 19 times this season, however, Dembele has struggled to hold down a regular place.

He has held talks with boss Andre Villas-Boas, who replaced him at half time in the Premier League defeat to Newcastle and after an hour in the goalless draw at Everton.

The attacking midfielder, who is wanted by Napoli , has confirmed the concerns of many Spurs fans, that Villas Boas wants the emphasis on defending in his midfield rather than creativity.

Spurs have scored nine goals in their 11 Premier League games so far this season.

Dembele said: “The coach has explained that he makes a tactical choice, he wants more defensive players in midfield.

“I can’t be satisfied with it, of course, I just want to play as many games.”

A couple of clues in there, that indicate he won't be joining Cardiff City.

EDIT: Okay, one. One clue. :old:

Kerim Frei, only came off the bench once or twice late on in games.
