And although he's still a top class player, I can't help but think England are placing too much hope on Gerrard. In his later days now and he's not as good as he was 4/5 years ago. Still a great player though

the abjective word that is used in this thread is 'overated ' . Rooney along with most of the england side last night were woeful against a very clever technical team which showed how much english / british players are so far behind the south americans and spanish lot in terms of skill and technique

is rooney really worth 200 grand a week on last nights showing ? bear in mind the word overated . our little midield / centre back pocket dynamo had him in his pocket last night for instance

No players worth 20k a week let alone 200k. I think all players are overpayed.

A lot of them are overrated to be honest. Mostly because of the media hype, building them up to be far more than they actually are. The players themselves would probably agree with that to some extent, I reckon!
