Which is quite right but that has nothing to do with the opinion expressed by the OP which I believe to be fanciful personal opinion or codswallop.

A recent example of Tan trying to buy popularity was when he recently gave away considerable amounts of money to charities (£50,000 in envelopes I believe) yet a fortnight earlier he refused to pay our players their rightful Premier bonuses.
It is apparent that the press now regard him as a clown to be ridiculed and this position is not recoverable regardless of the amount of money he gives to charity. The only way in my opinion he has any chance of redeeming himself would be to go back to blue but that is extremely doubtful. If he does not go this way then I am afraid that his image and that of the club will be further tarnished for the forseeable future.

Please explain the word "rightful"? why were they rightful?
My understanding is this was not a contracted bonus and the club was under no obligation to pay any bonus.

2 blue, it would be nice for a change if you gave an opinion on the subject of the thread which is Tans image rather than playing semantics with the odd word, thats if you can be bothered to come back down off the safety of that fence you sometimes sit on.

You believe he gave away money in envelopes? So how do you know he was trying to buy popularity? or do you believe he was! Without knowing the facts! Everyone knows he has given lots money away previously, and that was slagged off by people on here, face facts anyone who dislikes tan will always find fault with what good he does no matter what reasons are!

How do I know he was after publicity hmm let me think.... Perhaps the fact it was an organised event covered by the media and Tan made a point of dishing out envelopes stashed with cash. If Tan did not want the publicity then he could of easily made the same donation but could have done it anonymously.

But you believe he did Your words! People do lots of things at public events children in need is classic example! Some do it for publicity others don't, why should tan be any different? What was the event do you know? Was there a particular reason it was publicised? Was it planned public event? For all you know it was planned event. You are taking story sensationalising it for your benefit, yes tan wants publicity who doesn't?
Half the people post stuff on here for publicity and effect!

You can say what you like about Tan but the fact is he give £1m to charities and whether he did that for his own image or for the good of the people is something we'll never truly know but can only speculate on.
Either way, regardless of such speculation, these local charities now have more money to spend and if that £1m goes to providing even one disabled/ill person with a better life or last moments of their life or helps save just one life then it was £1m well spent.
Tan has many negatives but he also has many positives and thats something people need to accept. He is not perfect and I have yet to hear him claim to be perfect but what I am seeing is people picking a side and then using every thing, even if it means twisting it, to bash him or support him. Its not black and white, its a grey area as he's not 100% positive in his actions or 100% negative in his actions. He's balanced pretty much like we all are.

He had no contractual obligation to reward those players with the bonus mentioned. I'd like to see you demand a bonus at work when its not written into your contract. I'll suggest you'll either get laughed at, a warning or told to collect your things and leave depending on the particular environment you work in.
If you think people can just go demanding bonuses in the world of contracts then you're more naive than I initially thought. To now claim that Tan is somehow balanced is the best one I have heard for a while fair play.
He is and you can't see it because of your deep rooted biased view of Tan. I can see that Tan has done good and bad. Any sensible and rational person will also see that. Chuckles has even admitted he has done good.

That's an absurd statement given most media outlets have their own opinions, often opposing opinions, on certain matters. Then you have to factor in that journalists themselves often go against the grain with their opinions as proven in the news lately with different journalists expressing different views on Anonymous.

I would love to see any player argue the case of it being unfair that charities got money but they didnt get paid a non-contractual bonus on top of their 20k a week wage![]()
