JACKS WILL BE MOTIVATED BY CARDIFF HOSTILITY

Tue Oct 29, 2013 10:27 am

Tuesday 29th October 2013

Swansea City defender Neil Taylor has insisted he and his teammates will not be cowed by the hostile reception they will face at Cardiff City on Sunday, BBC Sport has reported, as the Premier League prepares for its first all-Welsh fixture.

Taylor has limited experience of playing against Cardiff for Swansea, having appeared just once against the Bluebirds - a 1-0 Swansea win in 2010. But the match has lived long in the left-back’s memory, and he is eager for a second encounter with the capital city side.

“This is what you play football for, to play in these sort of games,” Taylor said. “It can be daunting but we as professionals, obviously playing at the highest level, need to be able to deal with that. As soon as you step across that white line on Sunday and hear the crowd you know it's a different type of game.”

The two teams have not met since Swansea were promoted to the Premier League in 2010-11, with Cardiff following as winners of the Championship last season. Swansea currently sit in ninth place, two points ahead of Cardiff, who are 16th.

Taylor has been impressed by Cardiff under Malky Mackay and expects to be in for a hard game this weekend. “Malky Mackay sets his teams up really, really well and I think he's quite an impressive manager,” Taylor revealed.

“His teams work really, really hard that's for sure. Cardiff will think they've had a good start so far. But when it comes to a derby it wouldn't matter if we were top and they were bottom or the other way round, it just comes down to on the day who produces.”

Wales international Taylor went on to discuss the importance of the fixture for Welsh football, adding: “I think it's brilliant for Wales. The first thing I said was if Cardiff bring through more youngsters this is more Welsh players playing in the Premier League. But also it's so exciting to have these derby games. It was definitely the first fixture the players looked for.”

Taylor joined Swansea from Wrexham in 2010 and has gone on to make more than 70 appearances for the Liberty Stadium side, as well as winning over a dozen caps for his country since his debut in 2010.

Hmmm, do they honestly believe they will be the only side 'motivated' by sunday's 'derby'?

Cardiff players will be motivated (a) by themselves, (b) by Malky), and (c) by 25000+ fans whose passion for this fixture will send shivers down the spines of the Swansea players!

I'M UP FOR IT; ARE YOU?

We're not Welsh Wigan, we are YOUR CAPITAL and you are about to feel the full force of the mighty Bluebirds!!!

a bit touchy aren't you?
the players were interviewed and gave their views and were very complimentary to you lot, what I find a bit strange is that the press are only printing comments from the Swans, could it be that your press office is keeping a tight lid on things??

Maybe due to all the bad publicity you have had of late??

Not 'touchy' at all; simply pointing out that your guys are not the only ones who will be 'motivated' on Sunday and the 'welcome' will be a bit more hostile (atmospherically) than you will remember from the last occasion; given, of course, you waddle and the Fat Tank character are actually travelling to civilisation ;) :ayatollah:

Been to many swansea cardiff games over the years at the vetch ninian lib and leggo, and the most hostil and best of all for atmosphere was the league cup game at the lib a few years back.
So please dont say leggo is better as u have had a few decent games were the fans made some noise and all off a sudden you create the best atmosphere around.
Lets not forget last season when everyone on this board was crying because u were shit at getting behind your team.

Remember Leeds 2002 -cocky bastards they were too but they left with their tails between their legs like quivering wrecks and have never got over this defeat and Cardiff City fans had a big say in that match - more of the same come this weekend, bring it on :laughing6: -

So because you have a good atmosphere one game a season, you think it's better..

Typical.

If you score on Sunday, I hope your fans know how to cheer without the goal music.

And I will add to tjat by saying your fans are so fickle its unreal.
If u win a game then mm is a legend! Yet if u lose he should be sacked.
You are a club in all sorts of shit from the top to the bottom and u fans will never get right behind a manager unless he is winning.
Maybe u should take a look on planet swans to see how to support your club .
Win lose or draw you never see fans saying sack him.
As was the case with br ps and rm.

Are u able to celebrate a goal is the question barry.
As for the music dont realy here it to be honest.
And off course you blank out the fact that we make plenty off noise .
But again I will admit this season in some games it has been a bit lack luster, but thats only down to the fackt we have been playing top flight football for a wile.

Yes. I can do it without goal music too... Something Jacks are obviously incapable of. :D

As for the music dont realy here it to be honest.

Well you must be deaf, it comes over quite clearly on the television.

Still waiting for u to answer barry?
How many posts did u see asking for the management to be sacked? U do see on this board on many occasions asking for mm to be sacked.
As for sundays game, yes off course it will be a good atmosphere and expect nothing less
I was just making a remark about a silly post saying yhat our players wont experience anything like it and that leggo is generated plenty of noise.
Its what we have been doing for some time.
As for going ! No as im in thailand sampling the local hospitality's.
But will be in the bars watching

Come on barry ffs there have been plenty of games were there has been a good atmosphere at the lib.
But off course u dont watch every game do u?
And please stop making out you create a good one as apart from man city the rest have been average at best and last season? Well the less said about that the better.
Especially as you run away with the league.
