5 teams have had 20 or more shots at goal against us
Norwich had 31![]()
We have had 86 attempts at goal
We have had 174 attempts against us
Teams are averaging 19.3 attempts at goal every game . That isn't good enough and your right if a teams striker is on form we could take a pasting

Its no coincidence that the teams that create the most chances will be at the top end of the league and the ones that concede the most will be at the bottom end.

Who gives a toss about stats. The only stats that count are goals scored and conceded. Simple

And how are goals scored and conceded? By the opposition shooting.
Like i said the more chances you create per game the higher you tend to finish, the less you create the lower you tend to finish. They are clearly linked.

There is a trend between the higher you finish being directly linked to the more chances your team creates. This isnt even up for debate, its a fact.

& it's expected that we will be in the lower reaches of the table... Hence not having so many chances as those towards the top...

There is also a link between goals scored to goals conceded when seeing how many points you get.
spot on. But as we have already established the base stat to those ones are chances created and conceded as you cant have a goal without a chance.
A goal scored more than a goal conceded equals 3 points
correct and that goal would have come from a chance created.
The same goals scored or conceded equals a draw and 1 point
same as above
Less goals scored than conceded equals a loss and no points
ditto
This equates to where you are in the league. This is a fact not an opinion.
then you agree with me.

RoathMagic wrote:But it isnt. If there were no shots then there would be no goals stats for you to look at.
The base stat is chances created, the more chances created the more you score, the more you score the higher up you tend to finish. And the opposite of course generally works the other way.
The key bit is the first one (chances) because of you didnt have the first one then you wouldnt have the 2nd (goals) or 3rd (wins).

It is that's correct, but you have changed your stance on this subject now. You claimed earlier that Norwich had more chances and possession so deserved to win, that is not the case as we know how football can be.

Where have I changed my tune, my opinion hasnt wavered.
The more chances you have the more likely you are to score. Norwich had more chances so were more likely to score. If you played it 100 times Norwich would win far more than they would lose on the premise we just bith agreed on.
Meaning you wont always lose, as you showed yesterday, however if you continue to give up that amount of chances and create as little then you will lose far more than win.
This is common sense is it not?
