BBC News Article

Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan has tried to influence the tactics of the first team during matches, reports BBC Radio 5 live's Pat Murphy.

BBC Radio 5 reporter Murphy said club chief executive Simon Lim had been given notes by Tan to pass to Mackay, but that the manager had avoided taking them and that coaching staff had not passed on the information to the Scotsman.

The reported action of the Malaysian businessman comes after Bluebirds manager Malky Mackay met the club's board, following the removal of head of recruitment Iain Moody, who has been replaced by 23-year-old Alisher Apsalyamov.

Kazakh Apsalyamov was on work experience at the club in the summer and is a friend of owner Tan's son.

Cardiff City: Ian Walsh fears boss Malky Mackay could still leave

Former Cardiff City striker Ian Walsh believes manager Malky Mackay could still leave the Premier League club if results do not go his way.
Mackay has denied being asked to resign over club owner Vincent Tan's decision to axe head of recruitment Iain Moody.
But BBC reporter Pat Murphy has claimed on Radio 5 Live that Tan has tried to influence tactics during matches.
"You can't have a manager... accept that sort of attitude from people in the directors' box," said Walsh.

"It's quite laughable really to think that that could possibly be happening.
"Obviously we don't know for sure, but if it is happening or they have tried to do that [offer tactical suggestions during games] it will only go one way."

BBC Radio 5 reporter Murphy said club chief executive Simon Lim had been given notes by Tan to pass to Mackay, but that the manager had avoided taking them and that coaching staff had not passed on the information to the Scotsman.
Mackay was known to be upset at Moody's removal from the club and, in spite of the board offering him their backing, Walsh believes any interference from above could hasten Mackay's departure.
The former Wales international striker also believes Tan could benefit from an experienced advisor to guide him in football matters.
"Vincent Tan has got involved and I think without the arm to guide him at his side he seems to be like a loose cannon making decisions," added Walsh.
"Ultimately you could see in the next few games if results don't go well for Cardiff City, Malky might go and there'll be other teams who will be on the phone the same day for Malky Mackay.
"He is one of the best up and coming managers, so there will be clubs out there. If Malky Mackay leaves Cardiff City it will be someone else's gain and that I feel is very, very sad."

Its news on the BBC Chris today and it looks like more info has come out, the truth will all come out in the end, even though some try to ignore it or try to say its lies no matter what, " No smoke without Fire " as the saying goes.

So the possibility that someone who seemingly knows as much about football as he does fashion & allegedly attempts to influence matters on the park is secondary to it being the latest news ! ? Lordy Lord ! :sad7:

As you say 'no smoke without fire' , that can also be said for the moody episode can't it ? Unless people know for full sure, that is 100%fact , then best left alone, English media are loving it, why encourage them. Yes Malky will be under fire if results don't pick up, that is the nature of the game, he is a good up and coming manager, however, still a lot to learn and he is been given that opportunity by us.

Sadly it appears this is true.

Sam condoned Tans behaviour on this matter in his interview with Sport Wales on Friday.

In fact he got quite irate when the reporter when he put the question to him saying "Tan is not interfering because he owns the club"

Or maybe it just suits some peoples agendas to believe the lies.

I think thats why Sam got angry at the question cos he was guilty himself back in his time here.

Fair point ! It's not the sorta thing we're gonna get an official response about ! Sadly , love him or loathe him the PR from Vincent Tan is poor & in the absence of anything else were gonna ave to pick between the truth , rumour and complete fabrication !

I don't care if it is true. Malky is clearly still in charge of the team, who are responding to him and not Mr Tan. :malky:

Large numbers of people on here are simply sulking because he changed the club colours from blue and they can't get their own way. They see our billionaire owner as an easy target which verges on xenophobia.

The man gets to be a billionaire by being ruthless and going with his own instincts. He is going nowhere, and you have all to get used to it. Sometimes, like children, you have to get used to the fact that you can't always get your own way.

Protest against the change to red if you want, but don't hold your breath.

It is really important to stay in the Premier League at all costs. If you aren't striving to be the best (and some people would be happy in blue and league 2), then what sort of people are you? I, for one, do not want to settle for mediocrity.

Now, support the team, support Malky, support the players. You don't have to support the owner, but you don't have to hate him either.

our fans have been incredibly restrained over the colour change...............and in my opinion Tan got it wrong.........even huge companys like Coca Cola get it wrong..........{ 1985 recipe change }.......AND are big enough to admit the mistake......as football brands go.......Cardiff City. Bluebirds, Blue.....is as recognisable a brand as is possible..we are often referred to as the Bluebirds....our fans sing Bluebirds.................what other clubs have a nickname so deep seated and synonymous as ours.........and Bluebirds implies BLUE....Tan himself, has lost the opportunity to be a hero

what bugs me is this story is old well 3weeks old and been recycled, then its the truth will come out in the end! how many times have we heared that said on here? its same with lot of things on here lately no wonder so many have left forum, and others knock tan at every snippet of news true or false! but that doesn't matter as it suites the agenda on here! :old:
